In the U.S history, women have been treated unfairly for a fairly long time. Even though, people try to attach great importance to women, unfairness still exists. After looking at gender pay gap between men and women, I find both good side and bad side. To begin with, women can obtain advantages. By observing the gender pay gap, they can find out some jobs which have the highest gap. It is uncertain for them to choose these jobs, since the gap influences their motivation on working. Women’s family may have a discussion concerning choosing the least gap’s job which is beneficial to their future. It is generally accepted that the gap will not disappear in a short time, so while they are working, they must work harder than men. In brief, this is the good side for women. On top of that, the pay gap can help men as well. There is no need for them to worry about the gap, so they can choose any job without pressure. The gender pay gap is a constant international problem, in which women are paid, on average, less than that of their male counterparts. As to whether gender pay gap still exists, its exactness fluctuates depending on numerous factors such as professional status, country and regional location, gender, and age. In regards to gender, in some cases, both men and women have stated that the gap does not exist.
Women all over the world are constantly being looked at as objects and as lesser individuals compared to a man, despite the fact that they may work just as hard. One very commenly used exapmple of this is the gender pay gap in America. The average woman in this country is making 82% of what the average man makes. That may only be 18 cents, but that 18 cents can have a very large impact on the economy.
The average woman will be given a shorter pay than men in America. The Institute For Women’s Policy Research claims, that in 2015, women who worked full-time and all year round made only eighty cents for every dollar earned by a man (Hartmann). This is a twenty percent wage gap. The wage gap in America is usually determined by a woman’s age, race, and gender. The wage gap is, in a way, is understandable. Women do not always want to work but to raise and care for their families. Men will work; therefore, they will get a higher pay from the employer for working harder than most women.
From the beginning of history and to this day women still get paid less than the average man, but why? Whoever said that women are incapable of good work performance? Whoever said that women do not have the same responsibilities to maintain? What really makes a women’s work inferior to men? The answer is nothing. Today, women are depended on just as much as men, and are capable of performing at their level. However, a full-time working woman earns only seventy-seven cents for every dollar a man makes. These days women make up half the workplace in our society; they work just as hard and for the same reasons. Women deserve to be paid at an equal rate as men because they are relied on to uphold the same responsibilities and are just as qualified to perform at a man’s level.
The gender pay gap is detrimental to society it effects women whether it be in the past, women working today, they be single mother or women who are minorities. If this trend continues, only more societal issues will arise. Everyone has a mother or at least knows a women he or she cares about. It is time that we as a society need to change our views of women and give them the equal rights that they deserve.

A lot of the time, women do not go for jobs they do not think they are going to get. They do not even try to get the job. However, this does not say that women should not work in construction. The idea of rejection by the employer stops many women from applying for the job. The problem with this is that it is not certain that they would not get the job so there is no reason to why they should apply for those jobs. Another thing that affects gender pay gap is educational attainment within genders. “In addition, the educational qualifications of men and women have converged. In fact, since the 1980s, the gender gap in college enrollment in the United States has been reversed, in favor of women, because of an increase in women’s educational attainment coupled with a slowdown in men’s attainment of professional degrees” (Hadas, and Semyonov 2014).
