Men and women both have a stake in this issue. Women would care more about my position and it would benefit them more because the information mainly pertains to them. Anyone (men or women) uninformed needs to be made aware of the issue and my viewpoints. Women are more impacted by the issue so therefore, they will need the most convincing. My intended audience has not changed since first writing my argument outline. While my argument is to prove that there are many facts that prove the pay gap is currently being portrayed grossly inaccurate, I acknowledge the fact that there is some kind of pay gap issue because of personal life decisions, not simply because women aren’t being treated equally to men. is undoubtedly a pay gap. One of the main argument in opposition to my argument will probably be men make more than women in their first year after graduating, even when components such as institutions, grades, majors, and others factors are taken into account. While I do completely understand how valid that point is, it can feel misleading, as it doesn't automatically account for dissimilarities in hours worked, maternity leave and time off for child care, or the relative productiveness of different career paths and fields of study that men and women pursue. I would probably include their argument at the beginning of my paper because studies have shown the people will tune out what they are reading within the first five minutes if the reading material comes across as too strong or offensive. Including arguments that oppose your views, show that you’re open to listening to the views of others and may have more of a chance of catching the eye of individuals with opposing viewpoints and possibly changing their views on the topic.
Though any pay disparity between women and men is a pressing issue, the “wage gap” is much more complicated than people believe because of misleading statistics, unaccounted for variables, and the different social and economic choices of men and women. The reality of wage differences between men and women is that above all changes women continue to earn less than men. Countless arguments have promoted that wage inequality has changed and that everyone finally receives an equal amount of pay. “For women of color, the gap is largest of all: In 2006, black and Hispanic women earned 86 and 87 cents on the white man’s dollar, respectively,” (Mcswane 2). In every job that I've ever had, some of the women were paid more then the some of the men. Then again, these women have worked these jobs longer. Other than that, men and women were paid equalling. The gender pay gap is often referred to as a glass ceiling. For decades, feminists have tried to break that glass ceiling. So I'm here to give you some tips on how to break that glass ceiling.

The driving factors that will make a person income increase such as education and skill set, is obsolete when it comes to examining the reason for the inequality of pay for women across the board. The first half of the article “Women Paid Less than Men”, compares different ethnic group genders with the opposite sex. Per the article, Black men now earn 72 percent as much as white men (up 16 percentage points since the mid-1950's) but black women earn 92 percent as much as white women.
One cannot begin the discussion of gender pay gap without defining it. Simply put, gender pay gap is the inequality between men and women wages. Gender pay gap is a constant international problem, in which women are paid, on average, less than that of their male counterpart. As to if gender pay gap still exist, its exactness fluctuates depending on numerous factors such as professional status, country and regional location, gender, and age. In regards to gender, in some cases, both men and women have stated that the gap does not exist. Due to various countries initiatives to shrink the wage inequality between men and women wages in the work force, the gap has narrowed, respectively, which may have helped form such opinion. However, stating that the gender pay gap does not exist in today’s society, anywhere, is completely unlikely. Seeing that the gap has loosened its grasp in the working world, in other countries, the gap between pay has widen or remained stagnant. One cannot help but wonder why the gap remains consistent even with such substantial progress made in countries where the gap has decreased.

Women without a doubt do deserve equal pay. The gender pay gap may only last for a couple more years or maybe the wage gap may always exist. However that doesn’t make it right. Women go through their daily lives hearing the many excuses society throws at them. Men matter more, they need the money more, their more qualified, and so on. Nevertheless, none of that is true; women have proved to be independent hard working females who are depended on just as much as men. They have the same responsibilities to uphold and are just as qualified to perform at a man’s level. This wage gap has gone on for long enough and it is a women right as a citizen to be looked upon as an equal. Every women matters, every dollar matters, the wage gap matters.
