In a world threatened by an approaching and daunting future, optimism is an important attitude that must be cultivated in order to succeed. The future is going to be a scary and challenging place and having an optimistic mindset is going to be very valued to help get out of the sticky mess that society is creating. Optimism will help to keep society and its population in check and create ideas from both ends of every spectrum to solve very important issues. With many challenges ahead of society, optimism gives a clear and strong focus and will help to relieve worries and stress caused by forthcoming challenges. It provides not only a bright light in a cloudy day, it also provides and delivers a clear focus. A true example of when optimism has been clear and present is in the story and life of Anne Frank. Anne and her family were kept hidden away for a very long period of time in order to save their own lives. Having the belief that one will succeed gives much greater chances than believing you will fail. For example, trudging around and avoiding obstacles because a person thinks that he or she will fail at something will only cause them to surely do so. Optimism requires belief and believing in failure will only result in failure, just as believing in success generates results of success and achievement. Not only does believing in success lead to success, it also gives a direct route to follow during difficult journeys.
