It was released in April 2005 as the lead single from their second album, From Under the Cork Tree (2005). With the music composed by lead vocalist and guitarist Patrick Stumpand all lyrics penned by bassist Pete Wentz, it was the bands first top 10 hit and it launched there career. In an interview with Rolling Stone that he slurred the lyrics in the chorus on purpose to make it sound better and he wanted the song to be a fun punk song. During the writing of the song, the band made 30 changes to it. He said that he saw the lyrics first time he sung it out loud and it sounded excellent so he came up with the rest. I have chosen this song because it brings back so so many significsant memories in my life, such as the first time my family went to America, this song was played almost 5 times every day on the radio. It is also a very lively, energetic song that can turn a frown upside-down in a second. Even when I am having a horrible day, when I get home and listen to this song it makes my day so much better and always brings a smile to my face. This song tells you that you must never give up without a fight and I believe that , that is a excellent morale to sing
I agree with some of Barbara Kingsolver’s statement, but not all of it. I agree when she says traditional families are for the most part are stable and show successful relationships to their children. However, I do not agree when she says the traditional Barbie and Ken households are never disassembled by divorce. I also do not agree when Kingsolver said the divorce people, gay families, Brady Bunch families, and single parent households result in failures for children.
Whenever I play this song, I can’t help but remember my childhood. My parents struggled financially but, that was never an excuse for them. They always took my brothers and I out on small adventures. One of the most memorable memories I get when I play this song is when my parents would take us out to park to have a barbecue, while my brothers and I ran through the park till we became tired and hungry. Whenever I need a break from the world, I listen to this song just to remind myself of those special moments, even though those days won’t ever return, they are memories I will always treasure.
The Dave Matthews Band has been a musical power house for years. They have meshed together almost every type of music together to create their extremely unique sounds and attractiveness towards their music. Dave Matthews, lead singer and guitarist from South Africa has put together a band that no one will ever be able to create again. Dave picked four extremely talented and unique sounding men to join his band and together they have created some amazing music. The members of the band include Stefan Lessard on bass, Boyd Tinsley on violin, Leroi Moore on saxophone and one of the best drummers in the world, Carter Beauford. Together these men will one day leave behind a similar reputation as one of the all time greatest "jam" bands of time.
The relevance of the song was portraying that using drugs and alcohol will help you escape life situations. Regardless of how hard or tough it is. All you need to do is to get drunk or get high, than your problems will flush away. But the video don’t explain the reality of the outcome of how drugs and alcohol will or could affect your lifestyle and how it could lead you to lose your job, family and life. All it shows is the fun side of being intoxicated. Which, it raises a big flag on kids or teens that do have access to the media like the
I'm in the band. No, scratch that; I'm more than just in the band. I am the band. Unless, of course, that makes me sound conceited. In which case, I describe myself as an integral component to the marching band. The band would never be the same without me! I admit it: I'm a band nerd, a music nut, and a clarinet geek. You can describe me with whatever phrase you want. Regardless of how you look at it, I'll always be a band geek, and I'm proud of it!
Organizations such as MADD were some of the groups that effectively condemn drunk driving, a fact that is majorly praised in rock and roll videos up to this day. Parents were concerned with the music their children were listening. They feared that the rock and roll music would unintentionally corrupt their minds. According to Brake, Michael (2013), it is important to be aware of how profound moral panic can truly affect people’s lives according to what has happened in
The group that I have always felt like I fit in the most throughout all of my life, would have to be my high school Color Guard. Color Guard was always the thing I turned to when I was upset, or simply just had a lot on my mind. To tell you about my Color Guard, I will first have to tell you a bit about the town I grew up in. I grew up in the small town of Antlers, Oklahoma where we had two stoplights, a small school, a dollar general, and a small array of family-owned businesses and restaurants. This small town has never been excellent at any sports or academics, but, we have always had the reputation of having a great band and Color Guard. I never fully realized how great and truly life changing this group was until I became a member of The Pride of Antlers Bearcat Marching Band and Color Guard. Color Guard, despite the stereotypes, has not only been a life changing experience for me but has also helped shape me into the person I am today by teaching me how to be a leader, how it feels to be a performer, and even how to work with a group of girls, and truly be part of a team.

... a fan. This is only because while I do like dance music and other related genres it's not what I listen to most often. Daft Punk has a style all their own and I have multiple fond memories of their music, specifically their album Discovery. Their music is unique and fun and just makes people want to dance, I usually don't even pay attention to the lyrics, I'm too busy enjoying the beat and really feeling the music.
I wonder if that day changed me - forged me into the person that I am today. I’m not quite sure if it changed me, but I am sure it changed something. After that day, whenever I listen to those lighthearted songs of Billy Joel, they just don’t feel the same.

In their song “Walk On” they say, “[...] be strong, walk on” (Walk On). The lyrics tell the listener to be strong through the obstacles that come your way. They also tell them to keep surviving and keep going through life as best as you can.
