Since what we do for a living encompasses so much of our time, it's important for our overall well-being to do what we love and love what we do. When people are doing what they were meant to do, they deepen their sense of meaning and purpose (Chobdee, 2014). Wellness in the work place can promote occupational development and improve an employee’s attitude toward work. In addition, resilience for professionals is to know how to cope and come out of a stressful situation without any kind of remorse. Furthermore, prevention is to prevent disastrous of one’s life. Occupational science is an emerging academic discipline which is based on the traditional values and beliefs of the occupational therapy practice as articulated by Adolph Meyer, (Yexer ,1993), (Reilly, 1962) and others. It draws on a range of theories, research methodologies and approaches in order to understand humans as occupational beings. Also, it assumes that people’s experiences in engagement in meaningful and purposeful occupations influences both performance and intrinsic motivation ( Haertl, 2007)

Wellness provides the mind, body, feelings, and spiritual well-being individuals gain in their daily lifestyle. When most individuals in society hear the phrase wellness they assume it is referring to physical wellness. Which is true, but did society know that physical wellness is part of the seven wellnesses that are broken down into extension? Which are known for physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, environmental, and occupational wellnesses. These seven wellnesses help provide ways for individual to do daily and guide individuals to maintain a good health from inside and out.
Wellness is imperative to a healthy life. Sometimes, people do not really consider what makes up wellness, they simply think of it as being “well”. Wellness may be a state of being “well”, however, it incorporates different areas such as nutrition, health, safety, nurturing, and emotional stability. People must be healthy in all of these areas in order to achieve wellness. This is not an easy task for an adult, but definitely not for children.
The second dimension of wellness is emotional wellness, which has a lot to do with you ability to recognize your own thoughts and feelings and deal with them in a healthy way. There are a lot of ways to do this, such as: understanding and sharing your thoughts and feelings with yourself and those around you, and being confident in your self and the decisions you make. Values remind me of ethics and morals, necessary in any walk of life and imperative in the work place. These concepts are guidelines in which employees need to follow to be successful. “Values represent basic convictions that a specific mode of conduct or end-state of existence is personally or socially preferable to an opposite or converse mode of conduct or end-state of existence.” (Robbins, 136) Integrity, courage, service, wisdom, respect and goal setting are a few of the values that are most crucial to me and what I hope to achieve within any work place setting. If one wants to live an enjoyable, fulfilling life they must know what it truly means to be well. Living a wellness lifestyle means incorporating all aspects of what it takes to flourish as a human being. It goes beyond the health of the physical body and incorporates the important social, emotional, and spiritual factors that play a part in every person’s life in one way or another. Knowing how to act correctly, control our feelings, channel our frustrations, and improve in each dimension of wellness will lead to a satisfactory life. Spiritual, physical, emotional, nutritional, and social wellness define the biggest components of life and thriving in them is vital.

It means a lifetime of ongoing change and always striving toward higher levels of healthy and successful living. This means, ultimately, that one must live a life that caters to each of those dimensions, both individually and collectively.

Well known muscles, such as the ones in the arms and legs are toned and seen as exterior health. Meanwhile, the body’s inner muscles and organs, the heart and lungs in particular, are toughened for optimal inner health. Cardio is a term coming from the word cardiovascular, which is the system of the heart, veins, and blood vessels running through a persons body. So when you do an aerobic exercise, you are doing an exercise that is strengthening your cardiovascular system. Aerobic exercises are generally low intensity workouts, much lower than strength training for example, but go on for much longer durations of time. An example of aerobic exercises would be, but not limited to; swimming, running, jumping rope, biking, rollerblading, and walking. There are a great number of benefits that having a strong cardiovascular system can bring, some of which are, being at less of a risk for heart disease, you will have less stress in your life, and it can ease depression. But one of the biggest reasons for doing aerobic exercise is the fat loss it can bring. Aerobic exercises go on for generally long amounts of time, and in that time you are bound to burn a few calories. When you burn more calories than you take in your body will look to its reserves, its reserves being fat. Your body will use that fat as a source of energy, and this is how fat loss happens. The final dimension occupational health is explained by your relationship with your work. I have a great relationship with my job I enjoy what I do. I even get to train people how to do my job. I have plenty of room to advance with this job to move up the ladder. I intend to do so I am now training in other positions to move up. Along with gaining some more knowledge on higher up positions.
