In this paper I will be explaining the concept of bodybuilding. Who is a bodybuilder? Chances are you probably know one. A bodybuilder is anyone who is making a conscious effort to make their bodies better. A bodybuilder is someone who is trying to lose fat or add muscle to their musculature. Examples of a bodybuilder could be anyone really, a mom treadmilling after work, an olympic swimmer lifting weights for greater strength, or a teenage boy lifting weights only to get a better physique; they are all bodybuilders.
Now that I have told you who bodybuilders are, I’ll tell you what bodybuilders do. Bodybuilders use a system of weight training and cardio, dieting, sumpletation(sometimes chemical), to add muscle to their musculature; a persons

Cardio is a term coming from the word cardiovascular, which is the system of the heart, veins, and blood vessels running through a persons body. So when you do an aerobic exercise, you are doing an exercise that is strengthening your cardiovascular system. Aerobic exercises are generally low intensity workouts, much lower than strength training for example, but go on for much longer durations of time. An example of aerobic exercises would be, but not limited to; swimming, running, jumping rope, biking, rollerblading, and walking. There are a great number of benefits that having a strong cardiovascular system can bring, some of which are, being at less of a risk for heart disease, you will have less stress in your life, and it can ease depression. But one of the biggest reasons for doing aerobic exercise is the fat loss it can bring. Aerobic exercises go on for generally long amounts of time, and in that time you are bound to burn a few calories. When you burn more calories than you take in your body will look to its reserves, its reserves being fat. Your body will use that fat as a source of energy, and this is how fat loss happens. Cardio often goes hand in hand with weight training, because without cardio you will not be able to show off what you have gained throughout your weight
At the Gym, written by Mark Doty, dramatizes the conflict within the mind of a bodybuilder and his desire to change who and what he is. The speaker observes the routines of the bodybuilder bench-pressing at a local gym, and attempts to explain the driving force that compels him to change his appearance. The speaker illustrates the physical use of inanimate objects as the tools used for the “desired” transformation: “and hoist nothing that need be lifted” (5,6). However, coupled with “but some burden they’ve chosen this time” (7), the speaker takes the illustration beyond the physical use of the tools of transformation and delves into the bodybuilder’s mental state. The speaker ends by portraying the bodybuilder as an arrogant, muscular being with fragile feelings of insecurity.

Bodybuilding Workout Schedule I have experimented with many different workout plans. I have tried everything from working a single muscle group during each workout to working my whole body every single workout. I have identified the proper way to cycle your workouts to ensure maximum muscle building results. Why Muscles Grow When the muscles in the human body are broken down by intense physical activity in the form of weight training, the body recognizes this stress as an undesirable condition. Bodybuilding Workout Schedule As shown above, the workout schedule for 5 workouts per week consists of a 3 week cycle.
Body sculpting is a fast growing obsession and profession in many parts of today’s self-absorbed world, in which the importance of appearance is overly emphasized. Quickly obtaining muscle, mass, and ultimately reaching ones desired physique becomes hard to do when the standards for a perfectly sculpted body in todays society is becoming harder and harder to achieve. Advertisements using sex appeal rose from 15 to 27 percent in a 20 years period (Pappas). These advertisements constantly push images of photo shopped, unrealistically fit models, pressuring society to aim for unrealistic shapes and sizes. Paralleling the rise in sexy advertisements is the growth of sports products and nutritional supplement vending retail web sites.
I was able to gain knowledge about the different parts of the body which are important in the field of bodybuilding. I discover that there are main muscle groups and each of these muscle groups have different parts. For example, the main muscle groups would be the chest, back, arms, shoulders and legs. Now each of these main muscle groups have more that one part, your arms has biceps, triceps and a forearms. Each of these parts are made up or many more segments that can construct a list that can go on for a while. Gaining such a vast understanding of my body was thrilling. I was able to understand all the parts of my body. I am confident that I know almost every muscle group that is in the known human body. After learning about each individual muscle, I was then able to move on to the next step understanding how to train these individual muscle groups. I figured out that there are different routines that you have to follow in order to train each muscle. For example, your legs can be split into different muscles segments such as the quads, calves, and hamstrings. Once I isolated each muscle segment I was able to find workouts for each of them. For the quadriceps you would do workouts known as a barbell squat, lunges and reverse leg curls. Then after finding this out I had to
Most bodybuilders walk around the gym in stringers, tank tops, or shorts. Most of them are more muscular than the regular guys that go to the gym. They are the ones that are always at the gym improving their body, lifting large amounts of weight and doing heavy cardio. They make an intense workout look easy. They are the ones many people look up to and get inspired by. They are people in the bodybuilding subculture.
The article, “5 Ways Crossfit Differs From Bodybuilding”, talks about bodybuilders importance of training. “A bodybuilder’s training is split up to divide muscle groups, ensuring muscles grow and rest in balance, providing weaker groups the extra attention needed to balance physique.” Bodybuilders focus more on having time for their muscles to grow and rest rather than having cardio workouts and working out every day. Bodybuilders base their workout on what they eat. An example is that they workout less than a crossfitter does, but expects the extreme amount of protein they ingest to build their muscles. Bodybuilders will workout for longer periods of time doing less intense, but more muscle building workouts. They workout individual muscles to ensure they are growing them. The goal of a bodybuilder is to be big and muscular, so they do not incorporate near as much cardio as a crossfitter
Taking all this into consideration the goal of my paper is not to discourage you from working out, but rather inform you in the realities of weight lifting. The media and society continues you to fill out heads will lies about weightlifting weather its gender stereotypes and just the belief that one can achieve the stereotypical perfect body. There should be a greater understanding of how the media incorrectly portray weight lifting, working out, the idea of the perfect body and how society.
Muscles. Unless you are a bodybuilder, you overlook them almost everyday, using them to walk, eat, and do other daily activities. Even though they seem small, muscles are probably one of the only things that help keep you alive. Let’s take a trip into muscles to see what they’re made of, different types, ways they can bend and flex, and what makes them so important in your body.
Many people are now more preoccupied with their bodies than other things. Consequently, many men and women are willing to invest their time and money just to exercise their body so as to improve their looks. Most of them are turning to crossfit workout routines which aim at muscle strengthening and conditioning. Here is close look at the crossfit workout and why it may do wonders for you.
Bodybuilding still gave them a sense of empowerment that not only influence them to compete but also affect other aspects of their lives. For example, empowerment was a critical factor in enabling women to see they had the ability to change and shape their individual worlds. In the midst of social constraint, female bodybuilder exert control over their lives through the conscious decision of becoming bodybuilder through shaping and changing their bodies. Female body building become a form of agency. And through that they develop the strengths to try out other things in life. In this study, just like the other one many competitors reported a feeling in self- worth. Competitors also reported feeling more confident too. However, with anything there are both benefits and costs to do what you love and in this study it took note to how the cost of being a bodybuilder can affect your physical and mental
Aerobic exercise is a type of exercise that increases the heart rate and speeds up breathing for a continuous period. This sustained raise overloads the heart and lungs and causes them to work harder than at rest. Therefore, with weight loss aerobic activity is generally suggested far more than anaerobic activity. “Cardio-respiratory endurance, or aerobic, activities, such as walking, jogging, running, swimming, and bicycling, are the most useful for losing weight because they eventually burn more calories than do muscle-strengthening exercises, such as weight training or calisthenics” (Fine, & Kusinitz, 1995).
...g to seek advice. As I stated earlier, bodybuilding is a lifestyle, and it's not for everyone.
A lot of people are trying to build muscles in their body by working out. They work out by lifting heavy weights. However, when working out to building muscle, one needs to consume healthy foods and more proteins. After finishing a workout, the muscles in the body have microscopic tears to form in the fiber and connective tissues. This will cause the muscles to be tired and damaged. To repair the muscle, consume healthy foods and more protein. When one get enough foods in the body, the muscles will use the nutrients from the foods consumed and slowly rebuild, resulting in muscles in the body to increase size, strength, and muscle capacity. When I was in grade 9, I started to lift weight and I was new to it. After a few days of working out my body was experiencing any change. I realized that the reason my body was not experiencing change is because of what I was eating. I was not eating much protein and healthy foods. Later I started to eat foods that contain high protein and then I started to experience change, my muscles were getting bigger and stronger. Foods that contain high in protein can help to build muscles such as cottage cheese, chicken breast, whole eggs, canned tuna, etc. So therefore, having enough protein is the main key in order to build
Thirty minutes of exercise a day may be the trick to keeping bad health away! Cardiovascular exercise strengthens all of the body’s muscles.
