The reason I want to study nursing in this university is because I would like to increase my knowledge on theories of human functioning and to develop clinical knowledge, I also want an understanding of what it’s like to work in the NHS. The reason I want to be an adult nurse is because I want to make a difference in people’s lives, I want to help and positively influence individuals lives every day by being the best I can. when becoming a nurse you get a real insight on the daily health and well-being of individuals. I want to be a part of patients journeys in defeating and overcoming their health issues and want to be the reason why a person has a smile on their face. During this experience I was able to increase my ability to adapt my style of communication to make it effective for the children. I have taken part in maths mentoring where I taught students who were struggling with maths doing this has improved my communication skills and has also helped me expand on my maths skills

Throughout my experience at a pharmacy increased my competency to multi task and assist customers
During hospital visits I have realised nurses do more than just give care they understand. a nurse does what a patient would do if they had the strength, this was told by Virginia Henderson. I looked up to this women as she was an influential nurse and I aspire to be like her.

Studying health and social care has developed my communication skills, knowledge of care value base and human growth and development
