I want to help others and give back to my community as a nurse. Obtaining a BS in nursing is a critical step towards making my dreams a reality. I plan to further my education and get a Masters in Nursing, so that I may serve as a Nurse Practitioner to low income families. While doctors treat the disease, nurses care for the individual as a whole, and that is what attracted me to the profession. Life is a precious gift, and by becoming a nurse not only can I contribute to improving the health and safety of a patient, but I can also help make their stay in the hospital a comfortable one. As a nurse I will have to be careful, kind, patient, alert, and a critical thinker just to name a few; but I am ready for these tasks and more. I am being prepared to be the nurse that will have a positive impact in the life of every patient that I encounter while providing optimum care. I also anticipate the impact that others will be able to have in my life. Seeing the strength and optimism of a very ill patient, hearing the stories of people’s lives, witnessing the ill become well, and knowing that I made a difference even if it is merely putting a smile on someone’s face will make my journey worthwhile. Nursing gives me the opportunity to provide families with excellent and compassionate care- the kind of care that some of my family members have received and the kind of care that I would like

I don’t believe I can pinpoint the exact moment that I became interested in the nursing field but I can remember that as a kid I was always happy when my grandfather 's nurse would come over to care for his wounds. I remember being happy when she came around because I knew she was taking care of my grandpa and she was going to make him feel better. I believe this is the reason why I didn’t grow up fearing the doctor’s office, instead I grew up associating the doctor’s office as a place that made people feel better. Today, I want to be that same inspiration to a young child but most of all I want to be the one that not only participates in the patient’s care to make them feel better, but the one that places the families in a state of ease when caring for their ill.
Hello, my name is Jacqueline Collins, ever since I was a teenager, I have always wanted to help people. I believe, I was born a caretaker by nature and absolutely love taking care of people. In high school, I decided, I wanted to be a nurse. Nevertheless, after High School, I took a nursing assistant course for three months. Soon after completing the course, I started working as a nursing assistant in a Nursing Home. Consequently, I didn’t find working in this facility rewarding. However, I loved working with the elderly, but it didn’t challenge me enough. To reach my goals, I realize that I must, look for employment in a hospital, and pursue a Registered Nurse degree.
Helping others has been one of the most important values that my parents have shown me throughout the years. As I am getting closer to completing the healthcare leadership program, I recently reflected on my career in healthcare and the decisions that led to my desire to pursue a career in healthcare leadership. As a child, I enjoyed helping people and cared a lot about making others feel comfortable. As a young adult, I explored career opportunities that would allow me to enrich the lives of others and decided to become a nursing assistant. As a nursing assistant, I received immense satisfaction from seeing the smiles of patients and families I cared for and supported. I also learned a lot about life from the wisdom my patients imparted to me, as they shared stories about their own personal journeys.

I am writing this letter to express my interest in a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing study in your University. I have been admiring Western Governors University since it has a flexible nursing program, which will allow me to continue advancing my career path as a working mother and a caregiver for my dialysis husband. I choose to be a nurse because there was not a kinder profession than a health care profession, especially the nurses. The nurses’ careers allow the opportunity to promote and maintain the health and well being of our citizens. I enjoy being in a career that helps people, while there are many other occupations that would allow me to help people as well; but by far, I feel nursing is the one that I would be able to share my gift of caring for others most.
It’s been my desire, longing for a nursing career since I was in my primary and secondary school. At the age of 12, I began to look after children and baby-sitting then, from there, I gained the understanding of how to deal with children. Nursing is one of the highly demanding careers that bring new challenges every day and it comes with various rewards and a real sense of job satisfaction. I chose nursing because it is a profession where you never really finish learning. It has been my dream job since my tender age. Seeing nurses visiting my school treating students, immunisation, teaching us about health and sexual health issues, this encouraged me. My goal and desire at that age have been to help people within the Health sector. That is how; I decided to go to college where I am currently doing my Access to Higher Education Diploma (Science), which involves Biology and Chemistry. I chose this pathway because I want to gain the relevant skills and knowledge of my career to be. As someone who wants to become a nurse, I found biology as an important role in the delivery of client car...
Adult nurse practitioners, also known as ANPs, provide health care to adults through a broad spectrum of roles. Their patients range from the age of twelve to senior citizens. They do not have to have a particular “specialty” but can solve many cases and help many people. This is why ANPs can be considered generalists. However, this is not to say ANPs cannot specialize. Options for ANPs include cardiopulmonary care, women’s health, and many more. The job of an ANP is to evaluate, diagnose, and to care for ill patients. They also can educate people on how to stay healthy or recommendations to get better.
