Having the chance to be involved in health science and work with other students having the same interest to me is a great privilege for me, as a medical student. Health science gives me chances to explore my skills and enhance as a student through my personal life and my education being related to health care. In addition, health science gives me the opportunity to learn new things and give me the chance to practice and be more involved in what I love, medical. I am a well-rounded individual, involved in many different courses and classes. In my high school career, I have been involved in past medical classes, such as medical terminology during my freshman year, and also principals of health science which I am currently taking my sophomore year. I am looking forward to future health classes, I have …show more content…
My younger sister has a disability and is special needs while struggling to live an average lifestyle. I have learned more from her growing up together, that she has taught me to be patient and even how to correctly deal with certain situations and challenges that come with me. I have developed knowledge and understanding of individuals with certain disabilities or illnesses, from my long life experiences and my involvement with guiding and helping my younger sister in need. A few years ago my grandpa went through a traumatic time, going through long periods of time being hospitalized and countless hours of surgery. My grandpa to whom I am close to went through a major heart attack, which lead to scars and long hours of pain both being emotionally and physically. It has encouraged me to help people in need of care, as it made me feel sympathy and the knowledge of what it is like to go through challenges. Looking back at my experiences, I have gained an understanding of people in health care, knowing the situations and the occurrences that may
In the chapter, How to Get into Medical School Part 1, Vincent Lam uses comparison and inner thoughts of the two characters to highlight their difference in expression of feeling. While Ming keeps her feelings underneath and is scared to show the way she feels, Fitzgerald has no problem showing that he wants a relationship to work. In the passage, by entering Ming’s thoughts, the reader is able to see she wants him to know how she truly feels but she is scared of what could possibly come.
I aspire to exceed expectations in this field and work with doctors to access possible conditions. As a student who has always been passionate about science and excelled in these areas, I have had the opportunity to share my knowledge while assisting a physics instructor in the laboratory with experiments he plans to introduce in future classes and while tutoring struggling students in Chemistry, A&P, and Statistics. This has been a rewarding experience for me as I desire to see others succeed. This has also allowed me to stay sharp in these areas and has helped me learn to communicate more effectively; both of which will be beneficial to my program. This year, I’ve had the honor of instructing a science club at a private school where I led a group of students through hands-on learning projects and experimentations. Although I demonstrate a strong background in Science, I knew it would be important to gain some medical experience. I was fortunate to be able to volunteer at a local women’s health clinic with the head sonographer beginning August 2017 and continuing for 1 year until classes begin in the
...ecause it gave me an opportunity to hear the perspective of other health care professionals that are not in the same field as me. I also got to learn what role each health care professional could contribute to the Triple Aim goal. Also, this experience would make it easier for me to work with other professionals during my course of study and after I graduate because I have been a little exposure to what it is going to be like discussing and trying to figure out ways we can contribute to the Triple Aim goal together as a team.
Presently, my extracurricular and academic interests are combined in my two year Health Science class. The class provides real-life medical situations that I may come in contact with in the future. Like any health science class, we study the body, in both its’ functional and dysfunctional state. This survey class also includes an introduction to equipment, medical protocol, and ethical issues. A sense of teamwork guides our procedures. Next semester, I will study at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Ramstein High School’s Career Practicum program. After initial on-the-job application of classroom learning, we will work with patients, supervised by the hospital staff. Living so close to a hospital that services thousands of seriously injured patients every year provides opportunities that other students lack, even in their college programs.
Health Team Relations was the course that helped me begin to consider my career options. I continued to take medical classes throughout high school, however, there were quite a few setbacks. Before the start of my sophomore In my first semester, I took English IV and dedicated all of my extra time to completing my graduation project. The project was a huge part of my grade for English, and if I did not meet the requirements for it, I would not have graduated.
My grandma and her difficulties moved my attraction to health sciences. Once I found my career I was totally engrossed in my studies. I seriously enjoyed the health sciences. It is not always the figures but the learning’s, the experiences that matter. I loved kinesiology; this field of health sciences attached me with the people.
Born and raised by parents working in the medical field, I have always had the urge to follow up on on a health related career. Despite never being pressured into choosing scientific subjects as my academic studies, I deeply admired what a long way science has come and longed to give my contribution to this fascinating world. I am presently studying for my A-levels at St.Aloysius Sixth form in Malta, a college for high achievers.
When I saw the job posting for Clinical Counselor with a specialization in treating with youth, I knew I had to take this chance. I am a hard-working and optimistic Psychologist with some years of years of experience in human services and I am ready for the continuous work in this area! I am currently looking for an opportunity to continue working within the industry and know my skills; experiences would be a great fit for the position, and for the “CHSi” team.
Moreover, I am in a career pathway. In addition, as I have mentioned before, my dream or goal is to be a part of the medical field as my career. Therefore, in last year, when we were selecting classes for high school, I have decided to
College Admissions Essay If someone asked me where I am going to be in ten years, this would be my answer. I have a great, high-paying job, and beautiful wife and family, and a nice sports car parked in front of my lovely house. When I look into the future, I see myself being successful and happy. Even though I always pictured myself this way, I never worried too much about how I would get there.
Why are you interested in healthcare? Growing up, my response was a desire to pursue medical school to better help others. This view gradually shifted as my Novant junior volunteer experiences allowed me to interact with individuals working from the administrative side of the hospital. Individuals in administration did not always have direct contact with patients, but they often addressed factors that influenced patient outcomes. Seeing roles beyond the clinical aspects of healthcare piqued my interest in connecting business and care together.
Although I have great goals to help people, my grand wish cannot be granted without a great amount of effort on my part. I decided to take part in activities that would help me reach my goals and to ready myself for that field of work. My extracurricular activities and my electives showed proof of my interest in the medical field over time. I made an extra effort to look for activities and classes that could help me on the way to becoming a doctor. My first step was
...the opportunity to act as a triage nurse taking weights and blood pressures of our 1600 patients and seeing first-hand how hard it must be to receive quality medical care in their country. Many walked for hours and then stood waiting to be seen in the rain. To them, medical care is more a privilege than a right. This also seems to be true in the United States where the uninsured are turned away from many hospitals to ones, which often lack the resources for expensive operations. This experience has inspired me to serve the underserved.
I hope I never lose this desire, a desire I have had since I dreamed of being a doctor when I was as young as five years old. While my aspirations now mostly involve pursuing a future in the biological and environmental chemistry field, I still am very interested in medicine. I believe these two fields are complementary because the composition of the natural world impacts all living creatures and humans are not exception. In the future I hope that I will be given an opportunity to do my own research into this relationship, however at the moment I believe that being a teen science scholar in the health sciences field might give me a unique opportunity to have a practical introduction into the medical science field, and perhaps even be able to discuss my interest in human health and its relationship to the natural world with some of the incredible researchers at the museum as well as others
and it did contribute to my knowledge of empathy and how to get to that state where I am available to help the client with balancing their own quadrants, to have a balanced and centered life. I think this is a great step for a successful
