When reviewing the discussion questions, question #3 stood out almost immediately. A main focus throughout the chapter is consistency. Question #3 advises that once the population analysis is completed for a new project, a lack of consistency is evident. It is up to the designer to make sure that everyone is on the same page. If the designer’s population analysis suggests information vastly different than the client’s data, I would tend to believe that we would have differences in regards to the need of the training and the root causes as well. The designer would need to take a step back and evaluate the need and root causes of the training a second time. A client can approach the designer with a problem, but it is important for the designer to keep an open mind. It is possible that the client may believe that the root cause is reason A, but a majority of the stakeholders may believe that it is reason B. For example the CEO may see a decrease in sales as a result of lazy workers, but the workers may see this decrease as a result of being overworked. …show more content…
This scenario is possible for population analysis as well.
In order to obtain more accurate information, a great way to start is by obtaining more information. Do not only speak with the CEO, but speak with the workers as well. This chapter mentioned the idea of role-playing. I initially thought of having the CEO and workers think from the other’s point of view. Did the workers sympathize with the CEO? Did the CEO understand the workers’ thought processes? This additional data will not only provide information about the population, but will also suggest what the population thinks of themselves. This would provide a larger data set for population
analysis.
The author for Working at Bazooms, Meika Loe, is doing a six month long research study at Bazooms, considered to be a family restaurant and a titllating sports bar. She applies to the restaurant unbenounced to the manager that she is doing it for a study. During her interview, she was shown an image of a blonde haired and busy girl in a tight shirt and short shorts. The ages of the women working there are 18-28 college students or mothers. Working with 60 other women, she only interviewed those whom she felt closest to and honestly answer her questions. Some of the women she interviewed were not for the working conditions or how content they were with the job. The management at Bazooms is four men managing 60 Bazooms girls and 40 kitchen men. Since the business is ...

“Stat Wars” is the title of Chapter 5, and it describes the process of conflicts over such social statistics. There are debates over particular numbers, data collection, and statistics and hot-button issues. Knowing the causes of bad statistics outlined in Chapter Two will help readers in such stat wars.
This question marks its way back to the time when people used to rely on the security of windows login credentials. The security no doubt prevented users from having access to one’s personal computer, but once a person had logged into the system, he/she would have the access to basically anything and everything that came their way.
article # 1 it gives you tips on what to do if your computer is not turning on. I learned that sometimes the USP and others are not plugged in the right way and sometimes people can trip over to make them unplug a little. My mom has a computer and her computer never turns on so she checks if her cords are plugged in properly and it turns on.
It was November 12 when spacecraft Rosetta caught up with the comet called Churyumov-Gerasimenko better know as 67P (Lauren, 2014). The journey took 6.4 billion miles to complete (Lauren, 2014). Also Rosetta sent a lander called Philae to explore the comet and take picture among other things (Lauren, 2014). Interestingly enough when the media reported the comet landing I thing is trumped Kim kardashian attempt at breaking the internet with her nude photos which the media was cover at about the same time as the comet landing. With all that being said you might be asking why should I care? You should care about this comet because comets came from and can tell us about our solar system, also there has not been any unique and important mission as this one, further more it might be the last space mission we get to experience for a while. Now I am going to get in to what comets are and how they got here and talk a little bit
The moral philosophy best describes my personal decision making is virtue ethics (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). It best description of me as virtual ethics having exceptional moral character (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). My character displays honesty, integrity, and helpfulness (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). For example, a friend attempted to commit suicide as a result of a wife asking for a divorce through email (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). However, while working I received a phone call from him stating his desire not to live anymore (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). Meanwhile, I called his son to ensure that he wasn’t alone however, his son drove to the house and found his father sitting and with a

This week in my HUMI 1 class, the one topic that we discussed in class that captured my attention was the state of being Naiveté. Although being naive is often looked down upon, it can also be something that you require in order to achieve your goals. When looking into the topic of Naiveté, the first person that I went to was my father. He was a refugee after the Vietnam war in 1975. Vietnam, even to this day, is not a place that many would want to live in. According to my father, during his time there, it was a filthy place to live and everyone there would often get sick. People were forced to work to exhaustion and starvation and diseases were the main causes of death. While all of this was occurring, he and his friends would often talk about
2.) We began our study by interviewing a classmate, then interviewing another PLHS student for homework and recording our data. We then proceeded to fill out a Google form, which aided us in planting the anonymous data in a data table and combining it. Following that, we sorted and graphed the data by gender and ethnicity to see how different groups responded to each inquiry. Upon doing th...
The critique will focus on issues like, title, theoretical framework, research design, methodology, data collection, methods, data analysis, rigour, findings, ethics, generalisability and flexibility.
This article hasn’t provided an introduction; however a lengthy summary of the study which identifies the problem, purpose and rationale for the research study has been provided in the background. The introduction should give the reader a general sense of what the document is about, and preferably persuade the reader to continue reading. This prepares the reader for reading the rest of the document (Burns & Grove, 2001 p.636; Nieswiadomy, 2008 p.380; Stockhausen and Conrick, 2002).
Client(s) may be in the first stage of our design thinking sequences (Archer, 1984, p. 67), and then the designer job is to explore what is the problem, what do we want, what do they need: to produce a design to meet the requirements. The initial design problem presented to the designer may be poorly and incompletely described (McDonnell, 1997, p. 45...
