New ICT System for a Business
Organisation
The business that I am looking at is CM Electrical. The most important
aim of the business is to provide good quality lighting at cheap
prices. The company is operating in a very competitive market where it
is constantly competing with other lighting companies and stores such
Selfridges.
Current System
==============
The firm at the moment is using a very basic system using a variety of
databases, this is a problem because the data is not all on one system
and this causes problems wasting value time for workers. The system
is not very helpful as it not easy to use and take time to understand.
The system holds information of the stock that the company has and the
prices of each item and where they are within the building. At the
moment the current system is back up every week on storage disk, CM
electrical use a grandfather father son method. There is no real form
of security; an id is required which is made up from any two letters.
They work 8.30am to 6pm Mon- Fri and Saturday 9 am – 5.30 pm and in
this time they use the system regularly.
Users
=====
They users of the system are all the staff that currently work at CM
electrical, these include all the administration whom have the
responsibility of keeping the system and insuring all the information
regarding accounts is up to date. The other users are the end users
these are the staff that use the system to look up information
regarding stock and customers.
Problems
========
The problem with the system is that it very basic and is time
consuming for the employees to use, the employees find it hard to keep
track of stock levels and the fact that the system is not updates as
regular as it should often the database is out of date. This is a
...takes to set up information in the system. The level of understanding would improve through partaking or getting involved and henceforth could be adapted easily. All the bits and pieces of the project would rapidly increase or grow as per the workflow process. At the end, the overall CPOE system should be able to compare the manual method with the new electronic system and tell which is best and accurate to use and also tell how much time and money will be saved when using either system. At the end of the project the team should be able to come together and discuss whether or not the project met all of the company’s needs such as if it is reliable, efficient, safe and secure and also does it save time and money. Then, if the system has more advantages than disadvantages and it is worth all of the team’s time and effort it would be best to continue with the project.
One advantage of being the food service accountant is a convenient, ideal work schedule. Most of the people that work at food service facilities work odd hours such as 4:00am to 1:00pm, 2:00pm to 11:00pm, or 10:00pm to 7:00am. Working the odd hours that shift workers work makes it difficult to get things done outside of work during normal business hours. Shift workers often find that businesses and facilities are closed after work and are only open during hours that he or she needs to sleep and get rest for the next work period. On the other hand, accountants normally work Monday through Friday, from 7:30am to 4:30pm. It is much easier to deposit money at the bank on a lunch break or pay bills after work on an accountant’s work schedule than with a 10:00pm to 7:00am shift. The 7:30am to 4:30pm shift that the accountant works is also great for individuals with children because those hours are considered normal business hours and provides the most options when it comes to choosing daycare.
Our hours are Monday-Thursday 3-9pm, Friday 3-7pm, and Saturday 2-6pm, Pacific time. We are not open holidays or holiday weekends.
