The event was not crowded and the attendees were from various age groups and diverse cultural backgrounds formally dressed. The representatives of the hiring companies were very welcoming. I felt more confident after practicing my elevator pitch and doing the research as I good knowledge about the companies who were at the event. The tips given in the class lecture and Morning Mingle Event helped to know how to approach the Employers at the event. All the companies I interacted with had different job openings and their requirements also vary based on the job openings. The representatives of the companies were very welcoming and polite they encouraged me to check their website if they did not have a job opening which matched my skills. They also provided good details about their company’s culture and benefits for the employees. After the short interview, Telus Human Resource Specialist Miss Katrina told me that I will receive an email/call soon. I will keep looking for other job opportunities and attend more networking events. Overall, it was a great opportunity as I interacted and connected with various professionals. In the future, I will practice more of the elevator pitch and learn ways to enhance my interpersonal
“Since joining TELUS in 2000, Darren has led the company to deliver the highest total shareholder returns amongst global telecoms.” Stress distinguishing feature, form dimensions, attention to guarantee the shareholders’ profit are the paving stones for sustainable development. Also, Darren is a strong proponent of the Privacy By Design approach and the need to increase educarion about privacy and security issues within the context of our digital environment. He has been comparatively successful in maintaining customers’ privacy while they are using the TELUS sevice. Both indicate that fulfill the demander is the trump to let him be the longest-serving CEO amongst global incumbent telecom
I went for the Career Network Event and it was a great learning experience for me. I went there trying to apply everything that I learned from my job search class and it was a success. Because I had the chance to speak to the employer of my interest, and I everything went as planned, I remember my professor in class told us to make sure we have a goal and to know which company that we would like to work for and just go for it. I went in there and I did the exact thing that he told us. I remember before taking this class I used to try to speak to every single one of employer and then I put everything in one folder. Later on when I went to contact the job that I was interested in, I would get all the employers mixed up and because of that, that cost me a lot of jobs that I always wanted in the past.
Although my group was not able have the second interview with Sheraton Suites Hotel, I was able to gain a lot of knowledge about a different company. I learned much about an extremely popular lodging franchise (Motel 6 and Studio 6) and from that I can enlighten people around me that next time I am traveling and pass one of them. Like I said before, I was not very familiar

During the Middle Ages, Jews were seen as the enemy by the Christians; they were thought of as the race that killed Christ. The Jewish people were oppressed during the Middle Ages mostly by Christians. Religion was taken very seriously in the past and for what the Christians believed the Jews were responsible for, they did not like them. Furthermore, the Jews were accused for causing the Black Plague by poisoning the wells. The Black Plague nearly whipped out one third of the world population. The Jews were also “accused of murdering Christian children in order to make matzoh for Passover” (Konop, Muller, & Risley). Moreover, the Jews were forced to live on a filthy island called Ghetto Nuova in Venice. In addition to all the oppressions, Jews were forced to follow many unfair laws. To start off, one regulation was made to force all Jews “to wear distinctive clothing,” (Alan), usually a yellow or a red hat and in some areas, they were required to wear a badge. In the Middle Ages, agriculture was the main way of generating money, and when the Jews were not allowed to own a Christian slave to assist them on their farms, there was no possible way for them to survive. Following, the Jewish were not permitted to take Christian pledges, “Thus, the only occupations available to them were those of artisans, traders, and money lenders,” (Konop, Muller, & Risley). Later in the Middle Ages, the relations between religions changed traumatically. For example, the type of anti-Semitism that existed in England during Shakespeare’s life was not as unreasonable as in the previous centuries. The Jews were now allowed to stay in the main city, even though the community that they were forced to stay in was now was one of “the strongest and wealthiest community in the Ghetto,” (Alan). All in all, sometimes religion and culture can blind us from the truth and some other times, it makes us hateful of others whom beliefs aren’t the same as ours.
When I arrived at the career fair, I was a little overwhelmed at first. There were so many different options to choose from and I was unsure as to where to start. This was my first ever career fair so I truly wasn’t sure what to expect. After looking around for a few moments, I noticed straight ahead was a table for AAA. I was very happy to realize that the recruiter was one of my former co-workers, Nick. Nick and I talked for a few minutes and he explained the positions that were currently available at AAA. I don’t have any background experience for either of the positions that were open but I am very much interested in the internship opportunity that is available. Nick explained that they will be looking for a travel agent intern and I do

Hosting this event means a lot to me because as a woman, I am aware of how rare it is for me to take interest in something that relates to the STEM field. Despite the odds, I still stand firm in wanting to make a difference in my school before I

I want to list some of the positive and negative things about the event that I attended. The positives would be that I did not have to use an interpreter to communicate with anyone, everyone knew sign language and it was a bit awkward because like I said, I am used to having that communication barrier in my world, so it was fun and I felt so much more independent; I even started asking everyone for more information on their stuff that they 're marketing or where things were because usually in the hearing world, I would just say nothing and hope that things will reveal themselves to me. Almost everyone were very friendly and shared their life experiences with me, making me feel like I 'm part of the family and it was hard for me to do the same since I 've raised not to really share anything and just to listen to what everyone 's saying and say nothing to contribute anyways. That also made me realize that my deafness does not have a big D, because I 've been taught to think and act like a hearing person, so it 's definitely hard for me to connect with deaf people. The negatives would have to be that it was hard for me to see what the person on the stage is signing because I don
This past Tuesday, Howard University had their annual Spring Career Fair which was located in Blackburn Ballroom with over 50 different companies. The career fair at Howard is always an exciting time as students eagerly await the opportunity to earn a job either during summer or after the graduation. This year’s career fair featured such employers like Target, Johnson & Johnson, Bank of America, Emily’s List, Kipp DC, and many more different companies. Not only did the career fair feature a bunch of different job opportunities it also had representations from different graduate schools some of those were University of Maryland, Wake Forest University, University of Rochester, and many others. What made this Career Fair even more
In 2012, eighty-four percent of Santa Clara University graduates who responded to a survey from the Santa Clara University School of Engineering obtained one or more internships during their undergraduate studies. Of those who responded, eighty-two percent were employed full-time after graduation earning a median salary of $62,500 (Santa Clara University). This research exhibits that internships can be an important strategy in the efforts toward job search for both students, as well as for employers looking to hire valuable employees. As defined by InternNE.com, an internship is any carefully monitored service or work experience that may be evaluated for educational credit in which an intern or student establishes learning goals and reflects on his or her learning experience in relation to achievement of the stated goals. Internships should first be examined that, when implemented at fullest potential, these opportunities can provide companies and students with a competitive edge in today’s business world. Subsequently, it can be shown that internships assist organizations and companies with temporary or seasonal project and task completion. Lastly, internships will be clarified as to how they allow students to gain valuable experience before entering the workforce. From reviewing an ample amount of research, internships are beneficial and advantageous to the success of a young student, as well as companies.
Most people find that going to a job interview can be one of the most stressful events in a person’s life. For some, a job interview is vital to one’s future, therefore the outcome of the interview can be of great importance to that person’s life. However, with a few helpful steps, a job interview can be quite simple. In order to succeed at a job interview you need to: conduct research on the employer and the job opportunity, review common interview questions and prepare responses, dress for success, arrive on time for the interview and be prepared, ask questions, make good first impressions, and thank your interviewer(s) in person and by email or postal mail.
