As a student of sixth grade, I am grateful to be given the chance to apply for National Junior Honors Society (NJHS). I get the chance to be an inductee for NJHS because I have gotten straight A’s my entire school career. To qualify as a member of NJHS, I think there are a few important qualities that an applicant needs to have. According to njhs.us, “The National Junior Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.” These qualities qualify a middle school student to be apart of NJHS and for their future. Scholarship is academic study or achievement and learning at a high level. Every NJHS member needs to make sure that they can keep up with what is going on during the meetings. I have been in SAGE math and reading since third grade and now this is my last year as a sixth grader. I am a fast learner and I won’t have any trouble with any adjustments and changes. All students older or younger look up to the members of NJHS and because of this, you need to show character. Character is the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. There are five traits that lead to having great character. The traits are trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, and caring.
