In my narrative essay I changed multiple errors throughout the paper along with adding more information. I started revising my essay by identifying that I need to change the point of view. I need to transform second person pronouns like “you” to first person pronouns like “we” and “I”. I strived to improve a list of grammatical errors as well throughout my paper. Finally, I need to add more dialogue and clarified my introduction paragraph to improve my essay. After re-reading my essay and identifying what I needed to correct, I started fixing my errors to improve my work.
First of all, I corrected all the second person pronouns into first person pronouns. In several sentences I went from talking about myself and my goals to talking about others. For example, in this sentence “in order to earn what you want, you need to give sacrifices first” I focused on what others need to do instead of myself. I mainly put these second person pronouns towards the end of paper when I was trying to summarize why I work so hard to achieve what I want.

There were numerous places in the paper where I needed to place commas or take them out to make the sentences make sense. I tended to place the commas where ever I thought they fit in the paper without using the correct rules to place the commas. After looking through and realizing the mistakes I made, I improved my grammar in the essay. While correcting my comma errors I also adjusted some indentations throughout the paper. I made the mistake of not indenting my dialogue in several different spots through my essay. Fixing these simple errors helped my paper look more credible and
...lized that there were many mistakes that I needed to fix in order to perfect my writing. I need to consider more about focusing on the topic and organizing for my writing, because it appeals to the audience more clear to the point. Also, I feel that I am much better to convince my audience through my writings.
In the beginning of English 101 I was what you call a novice writer a person who only wrote what they felt was required. However, certain techniques that I learned in English 101 made me realize that writing was not about filling requirements; it’s about speaking out, exploring and proving a point. “Writing is an exploration. You start from nothing and learn as you go.” (Trimble, 17) In John Trimble’s quote he tries to point out that writing is something that you grow with and learn as you go along. I believe this growth was achieved with a technique that was introduced to me by my professor called repetitive revision. What I found out was that revision of your essays helps in recognizing your mistakes and enhances the flow of your essays. By providing me...
A couple of weeks ago, the class was assigned a personal narrative essay and the prompt was to tell an interesting story of a specific experience that changed how you acted, thought, or felt. To be honest, I was awfully excited to write this essay because talking about myself is the easiest thing to write about sometimes. However, deciding what experience to talk about was challenging because I have already experienced so much in my seventeen years of being alive from dislocating my hip when I was three, to seeing my grandfather die in front of my eyes, from almost tripping off of the trail on the Grand Canyon, to meeting band members at an airport. Writing this essay brought me many challenges, I did not know what topic to choose, I had no
When it came to the process of writing my first, second, and third essay’s, there was clear visual improvement that I have become a better writer in certain aspects. As for essay one, I tended to rely on my writing skills as a high school student rather than use the components of a successful college student essay. This was definite once I received the feedback given by ...
As a writer there are many elements of writing that I struggle with, especially when composing an essay. When writing an essay, there are usually many skills that need to be used in order to be successful with the writing assignment. Many times in writing I struggle with explaining and fully developing the supporting details and ideas in my essay. I would also like to improve on incorporating clear topic sentences and concluding sentences, connecting my paragraphs ideas back to my thesis. Lastly, improvement can be made in my writing by avoiding awkward or wordy sentences. Writers face numerous challenges in their writing but strive to overcome or improve these challenges with each piece they write.
I was never a person that liked to write essays. This semester I really enjoyed writing those essays and specially because I was learning new things while writing them. Some things I could do to improve my essay writing are not to wait till the last three or four days before I turn my essay in to start doing it. Another thing I will do is if I forget how to do something or about some rule in the common errors I made I will just go back to all the lessons I printed out to have as reference. I think those will help me allot. And one last thing I will do to improve my writing is to try my best not to confuse all those words I got confused. I will do my best to learn each word and its rule of where it goes so I won’t have the same mistakes I had this semester.
Throughout the Mid-SEE I have written reflections on my writing and participated in group activities. I have received comments back from my peers and suggestions to help with revising my paper. With the help of my professor, Professor Church and my classmates, I was able to comprehend their suggestions to me to make my essay better and by revising my classmate’s essays, I was able to point out mistakes that I might have made in my essay, which made myself go back to my essay and check and see if I had mistakes that just flew by my eyes.
As the completion of essay one I learned a lot about the Starbucks culture, but as I was reading the comments made by Nishi I gained more knowledge as a writer. The careless mistakes I made consisted of wrong grammar usage and spelling errors. Another minor mistake that was found in my essay was the title, it was not a catchy. As a writer you need to think about your audience and the one thing that attracts another reader is the title, so I learned to title my future essays with something a little less broad. On the other hand, I made major errors as well, such as not being able to explain an example I provided in my introduction.
Good evening, my name is Michelle Boyd and I’m excited to be taking this course because it means I’m almost at the finish line. I’m looking forward to observing school counselors in their profession and interacting with the students. I’ll be doing my practicum at Brooke Point High School, located in Stafford Virginia. I enjoy helping others and believe my skills and abilities would be more beneficial at the secondary level.
Making mistakes is part of learning. I hear that a lot, but reflecting on your mistakes and how you got there is far more important. This ensures you do not repeat them. Over the course of the semester, I have made a lot of mistakes. I realize this and have drastically improved how I process information given to me, and reconstruct it into a flow of words to create my essay. I have certainly become better at integrating transitions into my essays, along with adding more explanatory sentences following a quote, and finally adding more to the introductory part of my essay to help the reader understand the context. I will continuously challenge myself by spending more time critically analyzing my points in my essays.
I still had the typical grammatical errors and sentence fragments, but there were not as many. I could see my writing skills were improving based on me actually taking the instructors corrections and advice into consideration. When I created my revision memo for this essay, I attempted to finally perfect the common mistakes I had made. Making my sentences a little longer

For this short story, I will talk about my recent build of a new dedicated system solely devoted to video games. I have been building computers for both myself and peers for over 10 years now and yet I had the most difficulty with this build as I was also migrating from Microsoft Windows 8.1 Operating System to Windows 10. The first thing I had to do was install Windows 10 to a flash drive. This peripheral device would enable me to install the operating system on to the flash drive and then once all the hardware was installed, I could install windows 10 onto my computer.
Amniotic fluid splashed outward as I delivered a baby calf still slick in afterbirth. I squirted water into its ear eliciting its first motor response, confirming its consciousness. A wave of satisfaction filled me at this beautiful moment of life; I had assisted in the birth of a healthy calf. This set the stage for my interest in medicine. Additional experiences throughout my life have amplified the frisson and joy that rushed through my body during the delivery, solidifying my decision to pursue medicine.
As I received essay 3 back, I realized I had the same mistakes from all my previous papers. I have a habit of missing words in my sentences. Usually when I write papers, I spend hours typing away at the computer screen. My words run into each other and everything made sense to me. The teacher suggested I read my papers out loud and that’s what I plan to do in the future. I also think time management contributes to this problem. In the future, I plan to manage my time more wisely so I can have time to come back to my essays and revise them. Hopefully my writing mistakes will diminish if I stick to this
