Introduction
Leadership is an important aspect for every individual as it improves confidence, gives a better identity and enables better management of people. This paper deals with analysis of my leadership style and its effectiveness with relevant categories. This self - analysis paper will certainly help to plan things in a better way and also to identify weakness and convert them into strengths to utilize leadership in the best manner. The paper will also comprise of varied examples from my personal experiences to justify the points.
Leader Assessment
I work as a team leader in a small scale IT company comprising of about 30 employees. Being the team leader, majority of the operations of the company rely on my productivity as I handle about 8 people as a team. We have a hierarchical structure for communication. However, I follow reward strategies that motivate each one of them strongly. Because every output is out of collaborative effort, I make sure that the performance management system that I follow clearly has a way to recognize talents, support and encourage them and reward with appropriate strategies. Sometimes, I am also proud about my accountability as it has inspired the 4 experienced members to step into the next level of management and there are more probabilities for them to become the next leader in our organization.
Leader Behaviors
My behavior, as a leader, mostly is inclined towards organizational objectives and tasks rather than people. I give priority to tasks over people which is sometimes the reason for conflicts of interest and communication gaps.
Every time when we get a new project, I follow a 5 step process:
Step 1: Inform the subordinates about environment, list mission and vision in a document and develop
The first area identified for improvement is praising people for a job well done. Too many times I have passed on the opportunity to publicly recognize member either formally or informally for their efforts. From my point of view, when a task is assigned it is expected to be completed to the highest level of competency. Meeting this standard leaves little room for exemplary performance to be recognized. A successful leader should be considered more on their impact rather than their accomplishments of their organizations alone for they are not sufficient in determining the key to their success .

This theory shows that leaders are born as such, there is no likelihood of 'making' them later with personal development techniques.
