My Role in Society

How many times have you seen people sitting on the road, looking longingly at the scrumptious food in restaurants? All these people are probably earning their living picking trash. These people were not given the same privileges as we were. Wouldn’t it be a ecstatic sight to see these people live their life the way they wanted? My role in the society is to bring these people equality by helping these people in whatever ways I can. I want to get rid of unreasonable discrimination in society. I can use certain methods to do this.

Being a student, my primary responsibility is towards my education and school community. Studies are not the predominant purpose of school. A school also develops a person’s moral compass that will help them navigate through the social pitfalls of life. The best place to start applying these morals is at school itself. To maintain a good community, we should accept others for who they are and leave no space for discrimination. My school community consists of a diverse range of nationalities and isolating myself with people of a specific culture is an unfavourable act. Without prejudice, mutual respect exists. It is the dominant aspect to forming a stable foundation for a peer relationship. Holding equal significance for each other keeps everyone’s mind free from insecurity. Take for example, there are students in school who excel academically and treat the mediocre students as inferior to themselves. This cold behavior will make them think lowly of themselves.These students will hesitate from attending school since they will be afraid of insult. ...is by educating the poor. There are many gifted children whose dreams are suppressed by poverty. I can start a social media campaign encouraging people to donate money to help erect career opportunities and training for the poor and disenfranchised. This may spark up some other spirits interested in social service and it will benefit the impoverished greatly.

A society is like a human body. All organs have to work in symbiosis for the body to function. If one of them is neglected, the whole body will suffer. My role in the society is to be the immune system and fight the disease of inequality that is strengthened by hatred and arrogance. It is because of ego why poor people are treated like fleas. If we have had an opportunity in our life to achieve our dreams, why not share it with others? If everybody plays their part in fighting this disease, we will defeat it.
