“Never underestimate the impact of a good mentor.” The power of this saying has resonated with me for a long time; something about its message keeps reminding me that parts of me today are what inspired by my teachers who did not only enlighten but also guide me through their experience. When I was a child, I always have a dream growing up to be an inspiring teacher myself. One teacher may change your life forever, and that is what happened to me. One day, I accidentally opened an English lecture TV program given to students preparing for entering a university. Unexpectedly, that event led me to the teacher who changed my life. I immediately wrote down her name, Dr.
Panidnad, and later googled who she was. Her method of teaching that was

I promised to myself that to be a teacher I must study hard to have the knowledge that can be given to my future students. I do believe that a good teacher starts with a great learner, so I decided to major in English at Mae Fah
Luang University, the university in which English is used as a medium language, to get myself in an environment where everyone speaks English coming all the way from Bangkok to Chiang Rai, ten hours on a bus, with no hesitation because I’m determined for my future. At Mae Fah Luang University, many professors are role models for me to look up to; they didn’t teach me how to be a good teacher, but they showed me how the one is.
Seeing this scholarship, I realized that this is the best opportunity in a life time to gain experience abroad. I could actually learn and use English with native speakers the way that will gradually enhance my language skills.
Furthermore, I could learn more about the culture as learning languages is not only important to know about the language itself, but also the way how speakers think that will help me ultimately fulfill my knowledge.
All in all, I believe that to be the good teacher, you need to be

One of the possible research topics I plan to undertake involves analyzing the impact that mentoring can have on the graduation success rate of African American males, particularly when the mentor is a Black male and the relationship takes place in the south. In my opinion, these relationships can have a profound impact on a student’s ability to persist towards graduating from college. Though my research, I want to hear the stories of Black males who have benefited from successful mentoring relationships with other Black men. I believe that establishing a strong mentoring relationship with Black males at a young age can greatly improve their chance of academic success. Furthermore, I believe that mentoring is a strong early intervention mechanism to prevent Black males from dropping out of high school and deterring them from pursuing degrees in higher education. At the same time, I would like my research interest to focus on African American males in the south, but I would like my scope to focus on mentoring relationships between black men; both structured and unstructured.

"Education is the key to success in life, and teachers make a lasting impact in the lives of their students." This powerful; quote by Solomon Ortiz aims its intention to show how vital the correlation of teachers and students are. Teachers and students mutually benefit from one other to prosper. I could relate to the quote and meaning behind it. During my tenure at Derby High School, I had one teacher in particular that served as a positioning lasting impact during my course at high school and for the rest of my life. That teacher and I shared experiences in the classroom, football field, and in life in general. These experiences with each other have dealt with successes, failures, and lessons that I will preserve with me for the rest of my life. His name is Mr. David Cherveralla,
That little hope for her was her mentor Ashley. This is part of the reason why she’s accomplished so much in her life. Nya wants to be even the smallest hope she could be to these children. Nya wants to be these kids’ mentor, and not only a mentor, but also their friend. She wants to be there for them however long it takes. She wants to see their growth and their progression throughout the years.

I learned a lot in this class and job that if your mentor or boss is not prepared the people below them will not be prepared. The first thing we did on day one was go view three or four houses to check if they had been staged yet (staging a home is the act of preparing a private residence for sale in the real estate marketplace. The goal of staging is to make a home appealing to the highest number of potential buyers, thereby selling a property more swiftly and for more money) (google.com). Then we showed two houses to a client. After lunch we talked more about what I wanted from this experience or what I hoped to learn from her about real estate.
One of my most amazing experiences I have had in helping somebody was through a mentoring program called Kids Hope USA. I mentor a student at a local elementary school once a week for about an hour or so. The hour is separated between educational and emotional growth in addition to snack and free time. Throughout the years, my students and I have grown as individuals and I see the transformations in their lives. It feels really remarkable to pour encouragement into a young child’s life. I've done the mentoring program now for around seven years. For the past four years, I've had the same little girl and we have grown extremely close. In second grade, Bemaree moved here from Hawaii with her father and mother. After moving here, she did not know very many people and often
“Teachers affect eternity; no one can tell where their influence stops.” - Henry Brooks Adams. Starting at an early age of four, I could always see that my teachers had an abundant amount of passion for their students. In the first grade, I was put into a resource class mainly for my inchoate reading ability. I was always a little embarrassed that I couldn't be in the classroom at the same time as the other students. This changed as the years went by due to the relationship that my resource teacher built with me. Not only did she teach me how to read, she helped me understand why being able to read was so important. Some of the lifelong lessons she taught me were based on building my confidence, and showing me that i should never be ashamed
Every beginning had a charm of its own that makes it unique and unlike any other event that had happened in one's life. In my case, my beginning on a journey to develop myself as a person and a leader started with a new and final school year as a high school student. I anticipated the new beginning with existence and fear of what the future has in store for me. For the first time, I was to become a mentor for a group of students, mostly grade 10’s that I barely knew anything about. To furthermore my anxiety I was quickly faced with my first challenge which included me working alone.
As I was pondering what to speak about tonight, I started thinking about what has been the main influence in my school experience. I realized that what has shaped me most has been my teachers. What is a teacher? After 13 years of school, believe me, I have an extremely good idea of what a teacher is. Two teachers began to teach me, my father and my mother. The poet Ann Taylor wrote, "Who taught my infant lips to pray, And love God’s holy book and day, And walk in wisdom’s pleasant way? My Mother."
Do you remember the teacher that inspired you to do your best? Or maybe the teacher who believed in you when the rest of the world had turned against you? Teachers have a way of touching students’ lives, whether in a large or very minute way. I can think of numerous times that a teacher made a difference in my life. I am so appreciative of them, and I want to do for other students what many of my teachers have done for me. That is why, after I obtain, both, my Bachelor and Master degrees, I plan to enter the teaching profession.
Introduction Throughout my essay I plan to explain the location of my field experience and how it relates to education phycology. I learned and witness many new things in education as I was able to volunteer my time in going to World Language Academy. While achieving my 20 hours of experience I was in awe of the students and teachers are this school and how they taught, disciplined, and how they created a fun and enjoyable environment for the students. Field Experience Site: World Language Academy My choice for my field experience was World Language Academy.
Along these two weeks we have been prompt to make a recall to our own way of learning and why we became a teacher: Was it because coincidence, due to life circumstances, maybe because family tradition, was it a conscious decision or because someone influenced us? Whatever the answer is, we have to face reality and be conscious that being a teacher does not only means to teach a lesson and asses students learning. It requires playing the different roles a teacher must perform whenever is needed and required by our learners, identify our pupils needs and preferences, respecting their integrity and individuality but influencing and motivating them to improve themselves and become independent.
When I was growing up, I remember attending elementary school, learning a new language seems to be difficult at first, but I was able to learn the English language because of the dedication of one of my teachers. Now, as I reflect on this experience, it is obvious that she was dedicated and enjoyed teaching her students to be successful. I know today that she made a difference in my life as I navigated through my education experience and high school years to present.
