My long-term goal is to be a professional skateboarder and make a living off of it . I honestly do see myself as a professional skateboarder because I do work so hard and also because i’m a very motivated person. The kind of work that I would be doing is showing up to lots of contest, demo's so that kids can experience or view what professional skateboarders Can do in person, and lastly I would set a good example on kids that if you really do focus on lily what you do than that could rub off and set a positive example and keep kids that grow up in not the best area or city out of trouble and keep than from doing bad things. My carrier would really be a professional skateboarder and I will push and stride until I accomplish this goal. This goal is important to me because I have been skating all my life since I was 3, so well why stop now I've came this far. Also I think the adrenaline rush is just the greatest feeling ever! The satisfaction that skateboarding brings is just the feeling of when you accomplish something that you have been working towards obviously such as a trick it's just a heavy feeling of relief and happiness. has to reaching my goal now is if I weren't to finish school I wouldn't have anything to fall back on, as if I did finish I would have background knowledge so if I wanted to build a ramp I would know the right measurements so that I wouldn't completely mess the whole thing up. That’s my goal! My medium-term goal is to make it to Rufus king as my high school and i would go there because it has a great sports program, it has great class you can take if you want to push yourself, and there’s a lot of good people to hang around and learn a few things or two.
In high school I would love to learn and study about mearin biology because I just love learning about things that happen underwater and that people aren’t too aware of.What I am going to do when I get out of high school is maybe go to college for possibly a year just to say that I went and it’s certainly better than not going at all.So all that stuff is what I pretty much need to do to reach or stride for medium-term goal. If I go to college it will definitely help with measurement and just get me feeling good about maybe what I would/could be
doing. My short-term goal during the 2015-2016 is to get proficient and possibly even advanced in every subject. It will definitely be hard but, I will accomplish this goal by paying very close attention, take good notes, and study them for at least 25 minutes. I will also monitor my work because doing that will for sure show that I do take pride in my work and it’s just a good thing to do if you have a couple of mistakes because than you can correct them once you notice them or ask for help if you don’t completely understand. Getting a proficient and advanced in all my subjects are important to me because having those two grades can really do well for you and it can also steer you in a good direction, that's what will get you to your short-term goal basically.
Basic Biology was something that I always wanted to complete. It would provide me a better understanding of whatever my family doctor says whenever I go to see him for a check up and how certain foods affect my body.
“Never underestimate your own strength. You were born for a purpose and are blessed with the power to achieve it” (Leon Brown). I have this quote printed out and on the wall next to my door so I can see it every day as a reminder to myself. I believe that we all have a purpose on this earth and that everything we go through on the journey there has a reason whether to teach a lesson or set an example. We have places where we want to end up and goals we want to achieve. We set these goals and dreams to help us fulfill the purpose we see for ourselves. I believe my purpose is to help people in their times of need. To fulfill my purpose, I will need to use my personal, academic and career goals to create a pathway to get to where I want to be
My name is Alexis Carr, and I am a second-year TAMHSC Medical Sciences Ph.D. student pursuing the Clinical and Translational Sciences track. My ultimate career goal is to use data science and biomedical informatics skills in a clinical setting. I can see myself using machine learning, software engineering, and data visualization to empower clinical decision support. In Dr. Duane Steward’s lab, we mined data from electronic medical records to capture patient- reported outcomes which would eventually inform an intelligent agent that would effectively close the communication breakdown between patient and physician in hopes of ultimately improving both patient follow-up and care plan compliance.
1) Describe your short and long-term goals, while explaining what appear to be the greatest challenges to attaining those goals. Be concise as you convince your reader why your goals and challenges make you worthy of a scholarship.
Even though next value comes last on the list, it is not far behind in the importance from previous two. Education is another very important part of my life. I truly believe it’s the key to a happy and successful life. As a child I was encouraged by my father to do well in school, while many of my friends were playing outside my dad made me sit home and practice equations. Growing up in Russia, I knew there won’t be any opportunities of attending a college, because of ethnic discrimination. Without my father’s approval, my brother took very popular for Turkish teenager choice; he dropped out of school and started working on the construction site. Ultimately, it was going to be my future too, but I was doing excellent in all my classes, because I didn’t want to let my dad down. After moving to America and realizing education is available not only to certain races, I know that hard work behind the desk will be paid off. Today, I am inspired not only by parents, but also with hope, which wasn’t there before. It’s the reason I was an honor student for last five consecutive semesters of m...
Juke joints with Coca- Cola signs faded from the sun and washed by many rains sat back in graveled parking lots acting as ticket booths to the occasional shotgun house or single-wide. They were surrounded by sparse forested areas that rushed through my line of sight as I was driven into my new hometown. I felt disillusioned as I watched the run-down hoods of Greenwood, Mississippi, pass my window. It was at that point that I realized that then, more than any other time in my twelve years of living that I wanted to do something to improve my community, the Mississippi Delta, and myself. As I worked my way diligently through middle and high school, my strength in science revealed itself and my love for the subject grew. My mother encouraged me to apply to the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science. That was the best decision I have ever made in my academic life. There, I was not only exposed to cutting edge education in the sciences, but also some of the best humanities professors in the state. Being in an environment with other like minded young people motivated me to ...
My two immediate goals are to get an outstanding education while playing competitive soccer. The University of Wisconsin-Madison seems like the perfect fit. In my family, academics always comes before athletics. I want to attend a school where I’m challenged every day in the classroom, where I can explore different majors while having the support of top-notch faculty. I anticipate taking courses in the Computer Science School or the Wisconsin School of Business. Both offer a wide variety of intriguing research opportunities; for example, Independent Study Projects and Faculty Research Projects.
I want to attend a college, so I can further my education in my preferred field of study, which is mechanical engineering. Going to college will help me accomplish that Goal which is not only benefiting me but my family because it will benefit my chances of getting a job with an above standard paycheck that I will be able to support my family when my dad can no longer. So I want to go to college so I can get a college diploma because that is what jobs tend to look at when hiring someone. So that I can assure myself that I have a greater chance of getting a job. Which is my ultimate goal.
My long-term personal goal is to be at a place where I am genuinely happy with myself and my life and not allowing others and their opinions on me or what I have done or am doing in life to
I have been taught for as long as I can remember that a person should always have goals. I remember starting High School and my teachers asking me what my goals were. I always answered with “to get all A’s in my classes” or “to do well in school.” To this day I still have many goals for myself and have achieved some of the ones i’ve made. I have completed up to High School level, and not failed a single class, which is one of the goals I made for myself when I entered HIgh School. I didn’t want to fail because that would appear on my transcript and make completing High School and getting into a University harder for me. I remember my senior year of high school the counselors had to pull each of us in and make sure we were on track to graduate and had an understanding of what we wanted to do with our future, and I was always glad to hear that I was on track. Then I told them that I was going to a University, and was going to study marketing, and they were surprised to hear that I already had a plan, and goals for myself. Getting into a University was also one of my goals, a big one actually. I wanted to be the first one in my family to attend a University. Which I did, I got into the only University I wanted to attend in Oregon. I had this goal throughout high school, I told myself Community College was not an option. Even though towards the end of high school I had doubts, and thought it might not be a possibility for me to attend a University I overcame those and completed my goals. Now that I am here, at Portland State University I had to make new goals. I am majoring in business marketing, and plan to get my Bachelor of Arts in Business Marketing. Which means that I have to take the right classes to obtain that degree and make ...
In the first quarter, my goals were mostly to just pass my classes with at least a B and since I started school a little late, I wanted to catch up with my work and bring up my grades because I was behind and failing most of my classes during the first few weeks. I also wanted to try and not get in trouble in my classes as much and I did not want to get detention. I met my first goal of bringing up my grades in all my classes from failing to passing and I am passing all of my classes with a B and above. I did not really meet my second goal of not getting in any kind of trouble because I got detention during the first quarter. I think some challenges for this new quarter is keeping track of my work and homework and keeping my grades up. Another
My main short-term goal is going to college after high school to further my education and allow myself to have a better career in the future. I can accomplish this goal at St. Cloud State University, by attending and earning a degree in Software Engineering. Another short-term goal of mine is to become a more independent person. I can accomplish this by attending St. Cloud State and either living with some of my friends who are also attending St. Cloud State or by living in a dorm on campus. The most prominent long-term goal that I currently have is graduating from college with a degree in Software Engineering and being able to start a career in that field. The main reason I chose SCSU for attaining this goal is that SCSU has one of the only
As an adult, I have numerous personal goals. Most importantly, I would like to own a home. Also, I would like to pursue my interests of water-sports by owning a boat and my long love of cars by owning a sports car. Other personal interests that will affect my years after college are my love for the outdoors and the thrill of traveling to many new places throughout the world.
My goal is to go to college and then have a career. It 's a goal that probably a lot of people have,
It has been my craving in every aspect of life to do things differently, chart my own path and tread in to uncharted territory. Nine years back, this what made me join a course in bachelor of marine engineering at MERI, the only institute in India exclusively offering such a course. Idea of venturing in to high sees, braving the storms with only handful of resources and almost completely cut off from out side world made adrenaline pumping in to my veins. All this along with opportunity to get exposure to highly sophisticated systems on board ships, which was fodder for my technical bent of mind seemed perfect for my adventure seeking personality. Through out my career progression I have made such decisions like joining LNG shipping pool of my company and seeking extra professional qualification of eligibility to sail on diesel engine driven as well as turbine driven ships
