My two immediate goals are to get an outstanding education while playing competitive soccer. The University of Wisconsin-Madison seems like the perfect fit. In my family, academics always comes before athletics. I want to attend a school where I’m challenged every day in the classroom, where I can explore different majors while having the support of top-notch faculty. I anticipate taking courses in the Computer Science School or the Wisconsin School of Business. Both offer a wide variety of intriguing research opportunities; for example, Independent Study Projects and Faculty Research Projects. In addition to academics, the opportunity to compete for the top-ranked Badgers soccer program attracted my attention. During my sophomore
year, when my coach informed me the University of Wisconsin-Madison wanted me to come up for a visit, I was thrilled for the opportunity to visit a Big Ten campus. During my four-hour visit, I toured the library, walked through the athletic facilities, and met all the coaches. Even during the visit, I knew that the family environment and the big city feel of the campus was a place I could call my second home. I was impressed by the students’ willingness to help each other with homework and by the coaches’ personal interactions with me and my family. While learning about programs to give back to the community, such as Badgers Give Back, I saw the commitment the players have to helping others around them. Finally, the proximity of the school to my home is a major factor that drew me to the school. The ability to have my family come up and support me during games and through my academic career is a huge deciding factor for me. By having this close encouragement from my support group, I will be able to tackle harder challenges both in the classroom and on the soccer field. When I got the offer, I didn’t have to think twice. I couldn’t imagine a better fit for me than UW Madison. I am look forward to being a student athlete, and making the most out of the next four years.
Along with all my extra-curricular activities, I still manage to find time to accomplish my homework and achieve a high grade point average. Currently, my GPA is a 97.889. I constantly work harder and harder to maintain my grades and continue to challenge myself every year by scheduling difficult classes. Even though travel soccer is all-year-round, I make it my priority to uphold my high grades. With many stresses over the overlap in soccer schedules and studying for school, I make a list of assignments and follow my schedule in order to have time to participate in both. As proof of my scholarly achievements, I have received Distinguished Varsity Scholar Awards for both my freshman and sophomore years. I persevere to progress and maintain my grades so that I can accomplish more when I go to college. My ambition is to become a doctor and I know that I can achieve this feat as long as I stay steadfast in my education. In my freshman year at Lewisville High School I joined the wrestling team. Originally my only reason for joining this discourse community was to lose the weight I gained over the previous summer, but that changed when I got to experience the joy of wrestling firsthand. Being a part of the wrestling team helped me understand the inner workings of the sport, the importance of team chemistry, and what perseverance can accomplish. Joining this discourse community was the best decision I made high school by far.
There were several factors that played into why I chose to attend Truett-McConnell. I have played soccer since I was five years old and ever since I started I had a dream to play college soccer. My dream was to play soccer at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. My aunts, uncles, both grandparents, mom, dad, and now older brother have all attended Samford. Going there would have been fantastic but God had other plans for me.
In regards to my academic and career goals, I plan to attend a four year university and eventually medical school. After medical school, I hope to become an orthopedic surgeon through residency and specialize in sports medicine. My interest in sports medicine has developed through experiences such as observing my father’s ACL surgery, having an operation on a broken hand, and caring for my grandfather who had prostate cancer. I hope to contribute to the world of sports medicine through research, either on treatments for knee ligament tears or supplement breakthroughs. Additionally, this past summer I spent most of my time at the University of Pittsburgh Health Career Scholars Academy, where I was able to explore various science-related health professions through lectures and gain insight on the medical field. These experiences have secured my interest for healthcare and medicine.
As a New Jersey native, it has been a dream of mine to obtain a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New Jersey and be an active participant in the Rutgers University thriving culture. I had experienced the motivating campus lifestyle while visiting friends and relatives. This has been an inspiration for me to carve out my educational path to lead to Rutgers University. I am passionate, driven, and motivated by challenging myself. I wish to push my own limits, and feel that surface of my potential has just been scratched.
In recent years, there has been a growing trend in college athletics towards the recruitment of younger and younger kids. In 2012, an eighth grader by the name of Dylan Moses was offered a full ride scholarship to the University of Louisiana at the age of 14. This singular event has since opened the flood gaits for early college recruiting. By the time Dylan Moses entered high school, he had no less than eight scholarship offers to big-name division 1 programs. Since then, there have been cases similar to Dylan's all across the country. In March of this year, an eighth grade lacrosse player from Long Island verbally committed to play lacrosse at Penn State University following his graduation

I played a lot of sports growing up, but my main focus was soccer. My mother had put me in soccer when I was around three because I had too much energy, and I don't think she thought soccer was going to be such a big part of my life. I was never really a shy person growing up and I think soccer was a big part of that because I was always around a lot of other people. Also through soccer I had also learned what it meant to be a part of a team and learned how to communicate and work with others. I played soccer in a club league and I also played in middle school and high school. During my club season I had met a lot of girls who were worried about college recruitment. I had never really thought about playing college soccer before until this point.
Mr. D. works for the Undergraduate Admissions Office at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. He is also working on his master’s in Student Affairs. As for coaching, it provides an opportunity for him to meet students in high school, provide a connection for them with the university, and the ability to participate in the sport he loves, soccer. Mr. D. enjoys his time as a coach as well as recruiting for the university. He sees his career has a way to utilize his skills and abilities, travel, and do what he enjoys most, connecting with people.
The accomplishments that would like to attain in the next ten years. First would be to graduate from the Respiratory Care Program. This has been the toughest eight months of my life so far and I have six months to go, however I am determined to finish and earn my degree no matter what. Once I have made that accomplishment, the next essential goal is to past the Registry Examination. Ms. Miller is the Respiratory Care Program director and she makes sure that we are prepared to take our board exams by offering the Kettering Review. I think that it is awesome that we are offered a chance to take a class to help us succeed in passing the national board exams. Once I pass the board exam, I want to get established in skilled care facility or hospital
Since my offers for football were all limited to Junior Colleges that can only offer books and tuition, I kept my search to that level. I then picked my top three of these and began to list the things I liked about each school and the things that I didn’t like. My final decision was to attend Hutchinson Community College. I choose this school because I liked the campus, the coaches and I liked their facilities. Hutchinson is quite a drive from Topeka being two and a half hours away but not so far that family and friends can not attend games and come to visit
One of the best ways to follow a successful path is to set goals for yourself. They are important to keep yourself on task and to get to a desired point of self fulfillment. The issue can be how to achieve goals in a successful manner. The issue is "Although people may desire or intend to attain some outcome, they are not committed to that as a goal until they are willing to invest affect, cognition, and behavior in attaining it" (Traci Mann, 2013). This is why it is important to have a set path on how to accomplish important goals. I have chosen three goals that I want to accomplish to demonstrate a Process known as SMART, to help accomplish them. There goals are that I want to finally earn a college degree(personal), I want to make it into the honor society while earning my degree(academic), and I want to earn my degree in order to contribute to Autism research(professional). All of these goals range in the amount of time it will take to accomplish them. Some are long term, but I can still use the SMART goal process in order to achieve them. The SMART steps to follow are:
Many people tend to set goals. They can set goals for their personal life, academics, or even for their professional lives. You can literally set a goal for pretty much anything you can imagine. I believe that people should set goals, they help you stay focused and want to do better for the future. Goals change all of the time though, because of a lot of different reasons, maybe you found that one thing just really is not what you want to do with your life, so you find something else to do. To me that is just how life is, my goals will most likely change as I am getting older and trying to find what I want to do with the rest of my life.
If a person wanted to go to a certain college but find out that they do not play the sport that the person wanted. There are not many high school kids that play at the Division 1 level of college sports. Playing at the Division 1 level of college sports gives you a big opportunity to get to the major leagues.
