1) Describe your short and long-term goals, while explaining what appear to be the greatest challenges to attaining those goals. Be concise as you convince your reader why your goals and challenges make you worthy of a scholarship.

My current short term goals are focused on two main things. One is preparing myself for college, and the other is bettering my physical health. To achieve my college bound goals, I am attempting to finish high school with as many college credits as possible. I have taken a dual enrollment class as well as four AP classes in order to do this. When I take a step back and evaluate my life, however, it is clear to me where my true long term goals lie. My ultimate goal in life is to be able to add to the life of others. I want to be life giving, not life taking. I believe this can take many forms. Service, compassion, leadership, work ethic and selflessness are a few examples of this. Being an example and inspiration to everyone I meet of these things is something I plan to do throughout the rest of my life. In a less broad sense, I have long term goals to graduate from Michigan Technological University with a degree in computer science. Ultimately, I want to go into the cybersecurity field. I someday hope that I can use my knowledge of cybersecurity as a crossroads between the world of technology and the world of helping and serving people, and with the direction of the world heading more and more toward technology, I believe this will increase my ability to make a significant, positive impact on the world. What appear to be the greatest challenges in achieving my long-term goals is getting through the education. Michigan Tech is known for being an academically rigorous school. Also, it is likely I will be pursuing a master's degree in cybersecurity after completing an undergraduate. Neither of these degrees will be an easy feat, but I am confident that I am ready and willing to put forth the effort. On a side note, it will be a challenge to pay for all this education, as I will be funding it completely on my own, and almost all my current income is put towards mission work. I believe my positive outlook on life, financial needs, work ethic, and dreams of using my life to better others sets me apart and qualifies me for these
