As for personal goals, I would like to achieve mental and physical strength while creating a strong resume that correlates with an outstanding experience at college that shapes me into the man I want to be. Personally, I want to be able to become very adept at a variety of skills both recreational and on a work based level. My senior year alone I have taken on many new physically and mentally demanding tasks that take patience, enthusiasm, and perseverance to compete. Some of these events include rock climbing, snowboarding, and joining the National Honors Society. I was honestly just intrigued by the name at first, and quickly began my research on the college for my project that we conducted in class. While learning about the college and the potential that it carried I soon began researching it on my own time after the project was completed. I found the website user-friendly and easy to navigate, and it provided a great understanding of the layout of the college structure. That spring I took my first college visit to California University of Pennsylvania. I was blown away by the architecture and the layout of the college. All of my life I have lived in a small community with a small class size usually finding an equilibrium around one hundred students. My entire school’s population could be found in a single building at CALU! It was a massive culture shock that I am very excited to immerse myself in. As well, the staff stood out to me immediately as experienced and devoted to helping students and potential students find their way. I decided to visit a few other state colleges and while they were nice they just were not for me. I would like to be the person who pushes the next generation forward into a world full of prosperity. I found that I have chosen to go into the education field because of a few of the outstanding teachers that Warrior Run holds. Those that truly go in everyday with the intent to make a difference and help the world succeed by preparing the youth are my role models. Currently, I am trying to become a well rounded individual who is adept in all fields. I have taken a wide range of courses that include business, chemistry, anatomy, biology, physics, calculus, sociology, and economics. As well, I have put a lot of time into after school activities that have helped shaped me as well. For example, I am currently employed as a waiter at a local restaurant where I have sharpened my public speaking skills as well as developing a strong sense of hard work, indefatigability and responsibility. I have met many people and made many new friends because of the opportunity I have taken, and I cannot imagine my life without it. (Transition) I am one of the few people in my generation that believes that there is hope for the future, but it can only be found through pushing through the tough trials that we all must face.
