My Leadership Philosophy

Within all of us, we possess a set of core values. Core values typically associate themselves with a person’s life experiences. Core values are not only the foundation we use to identify ourselves, but also how we perform as a leader. My leadership philosophy provides my peers the opportunity to understand who I am and the behavior I exhibit. My philosophy is not only based on the mission and improving the organization but inherently on the values of integrity, trust and respect. I will discuss my leadership philosophy in the paragraphs below. Integrity is one of the most important characteristics every individual should possess no matter what position. I believe integrity is one that is non-negotiable and should never be compromised. To me, if you are willing to compromise your integrity then you are willing to compromise the mission. As a leader, having integrity in your personal and professional life provides your peers with a presence of consistency in not only what you say but also in what you do. The trust built within relationships is based on ones display of behavior, competency and character. When trust is present between leaders and his or her peers, not only the team, but also the organization benefits tremendously. Leaders who establish trust within their organization reap the benefits from positive attitudes, loyalty to the mission and willingness to carry out their vision. As a leader, establishing trust within your team and organization shows that you not only foster empowerment, but individual growth as well. The team becomes more efficient and effective displaying a high regard of respect for one another, which brings me to my final leadership value,
