In life we all have that one dream we want to come true, for me it’s one day owning a bakery. I wish to open a bakery because I enjoy baking, it is the only thing that I have found that brings people together and makes them happy. When I get to the point of having my own bakery I know that I can use my skills and knowledge to make those around me smile, but first I am going to need to attain these skills from somewhere other than youtube videos and the internet. My education at The Art Institute will help me attain these goals by giving me a better education of the career that I wish to pursue. The Art Institute will help me gain more knowledge and experience of Culinary arts. The Art Institute will also give me the experience of running
Rathnasambhava, the Transcendent Buddha of the South and Madonna Enthroned are very similar images that were produced by very different cultures. Both images were produced during the 13th Century. The image of Rathnasambhava, the Transcendent Buddha of the South was produced in Tibet during an interesting period of the country’s religious history. The branch of Tibetan Buddhism is led by a religious and sometimes political leader called the Dalai Lama. It was during the 13th Century during the reign of Kublai Khan, around the time of the production of this painting, that Tibet experienced the first incarnation of the Dalai Lama. One has to wonder if this painting is somehow related to that occurrence. According to one source, the reincarnation system for the Living Buddhas is the main point distinguishing Tibetan Buddhism from other forms of Buddhism.
The Hudson River school represents the first native genre of distinctly American art. The school began to produce art works in the early 1820s; comprised of a group of loosely organized painters who took as their subject the unique naturalness of the undeveloped American continent, starting with the Hudson River region in New York, but eventually extending through space and time all the way to California and the 1870s. During the period, that the school’s artists were active (c. 1820-1870) the nation was in the process of undergoing momentous political, social, and economic change. The works that the Hudson River School painters comprised reflected the changes that were taking place across the continent as well as the self-conceptualization taking place in an ever developing and ever changing America.
The American Academy of Art possesses an interesting background. Frank Young Sr. dreamt of creating a school that would “provide the best instructors, attract the best students, and neglect nothing that will help them to build successful careers.” In 1923, Young decided to turn his dreams into reality, thus creating The American Academy of Art (AAA). The school was originally designed as a school to offer Associate's Degrees in commercial arts, but with the help of the current owner and president of AAA, Richard H. Otto, the ‘Bachelor of Fine Arts Program’ was established in 1992 (“About the Academy”).

Crooked Beak of Heaven Mask is a big bird-figure mask from late nineteenth century made by Kwakwaka’wakw tribe. Black is a broad color over the entire mask. Red and white are used partially around its eyes, mouth, nose, and beak. Its beak and mouth are made to be opened, and this leads us to the important fact in both formal analysis and historical or cultural understanding: Transformation theme. Keeping that in mind, I would like to state formal analysis that I concluded from the artwork itself without connecting to cultural background. Then I would go further analysis relating artistic features to social, historical, and cultural background and figure out what this art meant to those people.
The River Severn, Alfred H. Vickers, Oil on Canvas, owned by they Amarillo Museum of Art given by Marilyn Seven and Ray Matney. The painting uses a luminism artistic style that is defined by “a 19th-century painting style emphasizing a unique clarity of light. . . . almost always landscapes or seascapes. . .” After reviewing Mr. Vickers’ other work, he is definitely a realist artist with many works that portray accurate size, color, and depictions of landscapes.
Receiving a higher education has been a lifelong goal for me. All my life I wanted a job saving animals, as I got older I knew being a veterinarian is my all-time life objective. Although, I am currently a veterinary technician I need to achieve a higher educational background to completely reach my goal in life. Having a college degree gives me the nostalgia that I long for; being able to say that I’m in college achieving my goals as becoming a veterinarian is gratifying to me. Being a role model to my daughter is also extremely important; having her see that anything is possible if you put your mind to it, she will see that life is difficult and there will be constant road blocks but with determination and hard work success is within reach. After completing college I will be able to get a better job and also receive a better pay check. Going to college for a higher education level is important to many, but not all. For me, going back to college will help me achieve so many of my goals that I have longed for.
From an early age I have always had a strong interest in art, and have been involved with it in some form all through my life. The Chase's art department encouraged me very well and helped me develop my art skills.
When you love to do something, you want to do it every day, all the time, till you get sick of it. Even then that excitement and devotion to do it is still there. That is how I feel about art. I have a great passion for it. It is a form where I can express myself in a way words can’t.

As a student and aspiring artist, I am still discovering who I am and creating who I want to be. _________, What initially drew me to the study of the history of art is the amount of information that, through the methodology of art history, may be gleaned by studying a single work of art, no matter how simple or insignificant it appears to be. This fascination led to a desire to study the continuous evolution of art in different civilizations throughout time through analyzing one work of art at a time. Following this realization, I chose to be an Art History major. Through my studies in this field, I have been given the tools to research such prominent, art as that of Ancient Egypt to the newer, less established, art of the comic. Through such varied courses, I have been able to gain an even greater appreciation for art from all cultures and times.
The arts have influenced my life in amazing ways. Throughout my life, art has been the place I run to and my escape from the world. As I’ve grown older, art has become so much more than that. Every piece of art I create is a journey into my soul. It’s a priceless way to deal with my emotions and my struggles. I create art not only because I enjoy it and because I want to, but because I have to. Somewhere deep inside there is a driving force, urging me to put my heart down on paper. I become emotionally attached to each of my pieces because they are like dashes on the wall marking my growth. Each one is the solution to a problem I have dealt with and overcome.
After I finish getting my nursing and business degree’s I would like to go to culinary school like my grandmother, and open my own restaurant, or become a culinary professor, and share my love of cooking with someone who shares the same passion for cooking as I do.
I want to be able to learn more techniques in and out of the kitchen and restaurant. In any kitchen I cook in I want to absorb as much information and be able to learn how to control a well runned kitchen, develop relationships with chefs, and learn to create the most delicious food. I want to show my passion and hard work when I cook with others. I want to be able to grasp the techniques and create that when I have my own fine dining restaurant in the future. Working in the fine dining industry is an amazing place to cook because every time they display a plate in front of you they show you what creativity and feeling this person has behind this plate. The Culinary Institute of America education will help me get more of an understanding of what I have ahead of me in the future. The Culinary Institute of America will show me techniques on different cooking styles, work on my knife skills, help me define my taste palate, having a better understanding of what types of spices there are and how to use them. While cooking in restaurants, I plan on developing my own menu ideas based on the knowledge that the Culinary Institute of America teaches me with the techniques I 've mastered through working in restaurants in the
