Did you know that lessons or experiences that people have as a child can affect their character traits as an adult? A famous person that is an amazing example of this is Milton Hershey, the creator of Hershey’s chocolate company. As a young teenager, he was taught how to create candy by Joseph R. Royer. This small detail led him to create two small businesses, which failed, and one large business, Hershey’s. Another experience was that he was fourteen and only had the education of a fourth grader. This led him to create the Milton Hershey School, a private school that provides education to over 1,300 children annually. The Hershey’s company is a very successful company that all started because of one thing, Joseph R. Royer. His teachings of candy making, not his, allowed Milton Hershey to create Hershey’s.
