During the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to participate as a member of many different types of teams. Whether serving as a member of an implementation team for a learning management system, a contributor for a training department, or serving as a board member for a disaster relief initiative, collaboration was always a critical element of success. As I reflect on these experiences, it becomes clear that my habits and style of work are predictable regardless of the team in which I have participate. Of the nine type of collaborators outlines by Central Desktop, (2014), I am best described as a task master.
Things that have gone well as a task master relate to what I perceive as the efficiency and effectiveness of goal achievement. Central Desktop (2014) described this type of collaborator as one who is organized, mission driven, and has their focus on the details required to be successful. These elements are things are characteristics which have served me well in the past. The vision and organization necessary to accomplish a particular goal or task is critical to team success. For instance, in many occasions, my take charge attitude and zealousness for organization have been perceived as an overbearing style of leadership. This sense of micromanagement has had the tendency to stifle creativity. Secondly I realize that despite my best to plan for every contingency, unexpected challenges and obstacles may arise which have not been accounted for. In these circumstances, I have the tendency to get flustered as these new obstacles are not part of the plan which may cause me to second guess myself. Working in teams can be well-defined as when a group of people are brought together for the aim of a mutual objective. Each member in a group puts their abilities to accomplish the goals. Groups make exertion to complete the project, but not necessarily the project is achieved every time. Within a group, every member participates in a position to accomplish the group’s intentions. These positions add new and significant dimensions to physics of group colleagues. Bruce Tuckman’s team development theory provides a way to challenge the duties of assembling a squad through the achievement of an assignment. On the whole, each group associate played a vital responsibility to complete the project at the end of Client-Focused Business Solutions.
Based on the 1993, research of Meredith Belbin, a successful team consists of nine roles. The first of these roles is the coordinator. The coordinator is one that has a clear view of the teams’ objective. This person is usually self-disciplined and confident. Secondly, the shaper. This individual is full of drive, makes things happen, and loves a challenge. Third, the planter. The planter is the individual who has original ideas and their strength is to provide the team with new insights and possibilities for change. Fourth, the resource investigator. This individual has the strongest contacts and networks. They are enthusiastic and brings information from the outside. Fifth, the implementer. Implementers are well organized and effective in turning ideas into tasks. Sixth, the team worker. This person is aware of all the teams’ needs and concerns. Team workers are supportive, sensitive, and promotes harmony to reduce conflict. Seventh, the specialist. The specialist provides specialist skills and knowledge but does not always see the whole picture. Eighth, the monitor evaluator. The evaluators are good at seeing all options from every angle. They have a strategic perspective and can judge situations accurately. Last is the completer/finisher. Collaboration is defined as the act of working together with one or more people in order to achieve something. It is extremely important for a leader to collaborate well within Project Teams/co-workers. To achieve a common goal is the reason to why we work as my goal is to elevate environmental, safety, and regulatory product compliance and harmonization through advanced process and project management leadership.
I then asked him if the youth center has ever considered asking for donations to go towards their funding, and if so what came as a result? He responded by stating that the youth center has indeed received donations in the past from various individuals, none of which though are large enough to have a lasting impact on the organization. Although “they did help ease some of the problems at the time being.”
One thing I believe is a necessity in growing up is having a mentor. Having a mentor is, not only, beneficial for the mentee but also the mentor. Being a mentor is a learning experience for everyone participating, it helps people grow as a person and friendships are created when a bond if formed. Some people might think it's a waste of time for a child or that it'll never work out for a troubled delinquent but based on the research I've done, I have proven them wrong. Through-out this paper I will provide the pros and cons of mentoring and how they affect both mentor and mentee. To back up my proposal that mentoring is supporting, I will supply examples to answer the question: Is mentoring really important?

Teams have been around for many years. It is vital for members who are a part of any team to work together so that their labor is not in vain. A major advantage for working cohesively as teams is greater output and interpersonal skills. The drawback of not working in uniformity can lead to project delays and time constraints. Organizations create teams with the purpose of fulfilling certain obligations and acquiring business success. Roming (1996) states that togetherness and dependability means that members within the team assist each other and the team. Which in turn, yields a better-quality product.
I have worked as part of a team for many years and understand the importance of great teamwork. As a team member, I am mindful of my role and the roles of others to ensure successful outcomes. I have been part of teams that take a problem-solving approach to tasks and have helped formulate action plans. In such situations, I enjoy the ability to work together to brainstorm ideas.
Working in teams provides an opportunity for individuals to come together and establish a rapport towards others within a group. Teamwork is classified as people with different strengths and skills who work together to achieve a common goal. When a team works well, specific objectives are fulfilled and satisfied. Teamwork plays a crucial role in implementing and fulfilling a common goal in a team project. Each member plays a role and takes on different responsibilities combined together. In different stages of teamwork, conflicts and arguments may occur for as members have different standpoints which need to be harmonized within the team. The key to having an effective teamwork is to explore each member's unique abilities to motivate them.
This collaboration shows the commitment to success on an individual team and organizational levels it is important to enhance and complement each other through sharing of unique skills.
