In 2001, the Army came to the consensus to add career counselors (MOS 79S) as recipients to receive Special Duty Assignment Pay (SDAP). The SDAP payment for a Career Counselor was originally set at $300. Due to the unusual high degree of responsibility and demand, the position requires of the Soldier. Career counselors received SDAP because they execute binding contracts on behalf of the US government. This includes the severity and importance of their daily duties, led to the proposal and endorsement. The only other Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) that writes binding contracts, are Recruiters (MOS 79R). The Mission of the Army Logistics Management College (ALMC), now referred to as the Army Logistics University (ALU) at Fort Lee, VA is to enhance the readiness and sustainability of United States Forces through training, education, consulting and research in Logistics, Acquisition and Operations Research Systems Analysis. In joint with the ALU, the Sustainment Center of Excellence (SCoE) runs eight different versions of battalion and brigade-level pre-command branch or technically focused courses. Five of them are conducted at ALU; one of those five course that ALU is responsible for offering is the resident 2-week Sustainment Pre-Command Course (SPCC). The SPCC was once taught at each individual Army branch school. In 1993, ALU was given the mission to train all multifunctional logisticians.

The role of the Warrant Officer in the United States Army is not difficult to define, but I believe it hard to see because we were always the quiet professional behind the scenes. Women helped every way they could by taking on various important roles in the military and at the home front. These women get any training and went started working as soon as they were accepted. When the war ended most of them went back to their normal life at home with their families. Women’s roles in the military have changed greatly and now a lot of women serve in the military.
The marine corps will help an individual further on his career by allowing the person to go to college or have colleges on bases. Specially “Officers earn promotion based on time in rank, successful performance in assignments and appropriate education” the Marine corps also have special school to teach warfare and leadership to the commanding officers, so they can be the best in the world. They can study abroad in Rome or in the Marine college which are both great honors for anyone that can enter. the rank also affects the salary a person may be earning; “as a marine corps officer a person may be paid from $35,000 to $200,000 a year depending on rank and also experience within the rank”, the more experience the more the money plus all the benefits that come from being in the marine (Marines pay ranks). In June 2013 Army Doctrine Reference Publication 1 (ADRP1) “The Army Profession” was released and the website http://cape.army.mil was created. In (ADRP1), it states there are five essential characteristics of the Army Profession, trust, military expertise, honorable service, Esprit de Corps, and stewardship (ADRP1, 2013). Those characteristics is what I think separates a Soldier from a civilian. No one should think that their job or occupation is harder or more important than someone else’s. It takes all kinds of professions to make this country work but the Army could not be as successful as it is today without our professionals teaching, coaching, mentoring and preserving these five characteristics.
In the United States Army, there are two categories of rank structure, the enlisted corps and the commissioned corps. The enlisted corps within itself contains leaders, who are referred to as Noncommissioned Officers, or NCOs. These individuals, whose ranks range from Sergeant to Sergeant Major, are responsible for implementing the guidance and command policies provided by the Commissioned Officers and commanders in their units. NCOs are also responsible for the welfare and training of junior personnel. The US Army provides regulations and manuals with step-by-step guidance for the most trivial of tasks, but it fails to spell out specific and concrete information on how to be an NCO.
For the Army, he is a 15U (15 Uniform) which is a helicopter mechanic. He chose this MOS because he has always been passionate about flying and working on engines.Instead of just one weekend per month for drill, his job requires at least one day per week of training plus one weekend per month of drill, and two weeks every summer for training. As becoming an officer in the military, there are abounding roles and positions that will be expected of all officers to perform. Military officers are to be a member of an armed force and to hold a position of authority. There will be roles to be performed that do not have a right or wrong answer, but an officer will take action to perform his or her role and take responsibility of their action.
I want to be and officer so that I can be the example for the new soldiers who come in full of ambition and dreams. I want to be the leader they can trust and follow into any situation no matter what it is. However, I also want to be someone they can rely on and talk to whenever something is going on in their lives. I want to be an officer so I can help those around me and change the Army for the better. I know as an officer I’m set to a higher standard and that what I do and the decisions I make impact everyone around me.
They must uphold the Army values as well as their own. They must demonstrate a commitment to being moral and ethical people so that their soldiers and their peers know that they are someone who as principle. Ultimately an Army officer must be good under pressure. They must know how to react without panicking in a difficult situation. Officers lead their men to battle and must have level heads and be calm when difficult situations arise. They must be quick thinkers and they must be able to think out of the box because many situations they will encounter require
Army life can be very challenging and a life changing experience. It was very challenging and life changing for me. I was raised by my Grandparents they did everything for me so this was a wakeup call for me on life. An independent person was not I, so I had problems with the changes about to come. Army life is constantly demanding and constantly changing without notice. Although the travel was exciting, army life for me was very challenging because I had to learn to adapt to a new system, to share my life with other soldiers, and to give up many of the comforts of home.
Hence, logistics is basically designing, managing and improving the movement of products through the supply chain. Clearly any one organization is unlikely to require all these specific tasks to be accomplished. (Refer figure 1.6)
