There are many challenges faced when coaching adolescents in soccer. Motivation which is key. Orientation to strive for task success, persist in the face of failure and experience in accomplishments (Gill, 2000). As said by Plato & Socrates (2012), physical activities is an essential activity for children to develop their social and physical abilities. According to Coakley (2003) by ensuring youths are given an opportunity to have fun session, interspersed with serious training, the youth athletes will be more than willing to continue paying the sport. According to Simmons and Blyth (1987) the study showed that early developers are satisfied with their height and body image. Early developers are happier and even after height and weight is controlled, they seem to be happier.

Coaches who engage in the model and its practices are more likely to produce athletes who reach their full athletic potential. This framework encompasses the late specialization model. Most of the athletes will go through the 7 stages (excluding active start and FUNdamental stages) of the late Specialization Model or the Early specialization Model. In this case, the Late Specialization Model will guide the athlete’s development. The athletes that were coached were aged 12 to 16. This is when the athletes will further develop their sports-specific skills and aerobic base (Balyi, 2013).

Coach’s guidance and aid will be of great help to the athletes at they will have difficulties to control their own body again. With their puberty being a problem to deal with. The role of the coach is to help the athlete gain control of the training and be able to execute the skills without the hindrance of their growth spurt.
