My entertainment and sports are all tasks that describe what kind of person I am and each of them are vital to my life. For entertainment, I have many hobbies like latch hooking, collecting and watching horror movies, my phone, and reading. Latch hooking is a type of sewing that includes a color grid, sewing grid, latch hook, and strings of yarns that includes an abundance of colors. Each kit is planned out into days of hooking to make pillows for future decoration. For my movie obsession, I have been addicted to the horror genre for my entire existence, watching an old TV show Svengoolie and buying all horror movies I plan to watch. My collection has spanned out into many classic movies, like A Nightmare on Elm Street, Alien, Blair Witch Project,
Bell Hooks is a well-known Feminist. She has achieved a lot through her lifetime, and is still going strong. Bell Hooks is mostly known for her fight for feminism and for mainly African American females. She is also known for the many books she has written and for her public speaking. But besides all the major facts above, there is a lot more to Bell Hooks then you think. Throughout your readings you will learn a little more about Bell and her accomplishments. The main resource I used to do my research was the internet.
Because it is very credible, emotionally appealing, and slightly academically based, bell hooks's essay "Keeping Close to Home: Class and Education" is an essay that I consider to be very touching. While arguing in her essay that the rich class and the working-class should come to respect and understand each other, bell hooks employs three elements of argument: ethos, pathos, and logos. With her usage of ethos, hooks relates her experience as an undergraduate at Stanford. Providing an experience from a time before she went to Stanford, hooks uses pathos to inspire the audience. However, hooks uses logos by appealing to the readers' logic. These readers are the working-class and the privileged, the audience of her book: "Ain't I a Woman: black women and feminism." Relying mostly on ethos, hooks uses the three elements of argument to express her belief that students should not feel the pressure to replace their values with others' values. Because hooks feels strongly about her belief, she argues that a university should help students maintain the connection with their values, so people of different communities will feel neither inferior nor superior to others but equal.
Athletics, they’re everywhere you look. In schools, on the television, and even in a local park: sports are a part of everyday life. It all started when you were a little kid and played on a local soccer team, or even football in the school yard at recess. The amount of different sports ranges anywhere from: soccer, football, basketball, to even track and cross country. Almost anything can be made into a sport. In A.E. Houston’s poem “To an Athlete Dying Young” the main character was once praised in his town for winning a local race. He brought much fame to not only himself, but also his town. Tragedy struck when his life was taken at a
I am not an athlete. Watching sports doesn't particularly interest me either. I have enjoyed and played sports in the past, however mostly as a bench warmer. Despite my lack of physical talent in sports, I have learned a lot from it.
Something that I enjoy is sports. I like sports because most sports pass time because I am not staring at a clock. Sports can also be fun, like if I score a point, or if at the beginning of the game most players get adrenaline. I can also socialise with my teammates. Some of the sports that I play are fun and help me with stamina and reflexes and strategies. And another thing is that why I should play sports.
One very important aspect of my life is rock climbing. Rockclimbing became apart of my life the summer between my freshman and sophomore year of high school. My brother and I have always been active individuals, and we decided to try out rock climbing as a recreational sport together. Eventually, we became more involved and began to buy gear rather than renting it. Now that I have become more experienced, I can climb outdoor, also known as sport climbing.
I am a passionate person, but one of the things that I am most passionate about is skateboarding. I feel this way because skateboarding is not just a sport, it is a way of living. Skateboarding will not only teach you new ways to approach things, but it changes the way you look at different objects and scenes. You may cock an eye brow at what I just said, but I could not describe it any other way.
I am a juggling, crocheting, martial arts marathoner. I am uniquely me. I say this because, throughout my life, I have taken no small amount of pleasure in picking up random hobbies, activities and skills. For instance, when I was young, I taught myself to juggle for no specific reason. It's the thrill of the challenge, that's what drives me. A year later, sparked by an interest in knots, I taught myself to crochet. Again, for no reason other than I saw a challenge and never stopped until I achieved my objective. At one point, I became fascinated with the game of chess. I taught myself to play and have enjoyed the game ever since. A few years ago, I spotted a friend with the Rubik's cube. What a challenging puzzle! Within a month, I had taught
Everybody has different hobbies that he or she would like to do for fun or relaxation. They can be either physical activities like jogging, football, swimming, skateboarding… or mental activities like reading, watching movies, playing computers… and depend on each personality. For me, soccer is my hobby because it’s part of my life and I cannot live without it.
My other hobbies are equally varied, including Badminton, Club Cricket, and helping in the production of plays such as Bugsy Malone and The Threepenny Opera at school. Thanks to my love of reading, I have in the past written book reviews for The Asian Age newspaper.
In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music and painting - which help me cope with stress – I work out daily while yoga is once a week activity to maintain a healthy mind and body. Sometimes, I like to read. Creating animation is a new hobby of mine. Travelling and exploring new places is what makes me feel alive, so whenever I find the time and a company I’ll go
If you were to ask my friends what I love to do, my guess is that the majority of them would come up with this reply, "He loves to play sports". Sports are a big part of my life, and if I had to choose my favorite sport to play it would have to be basketball. I couldn't imagine going a week without being able to touch a basketball, and I thought I would never have to. But on one summer afternoon, that all changed when I broke my leg. It left me on crutches for two months, and not being able to play basketball all that summer. At first I thought it wouldn't be so bad, getting all the attention and sympathy from everyone. However, after one game I soon realized that I would do just about anything to get rid of those horrible crutches and get back on the court.
I play my favorite sport three times a week. I always find time for all of my friends. One of my favorite pass times is to lay in bed and watch Friends, or stare at my phone to see my favorite youtubers entertain the world. Even my homework can be fun for me to do in my free time. After this experience, I find that my free time isn’t wasted after all.
My hobbies include choreographing, teaching, babysitting, reading, cooking, and being active. I have always thoroughly enjoyed creating my own work. This summer I choreographed two solos for dancers at my studio and also got to teach a jazz class for six-year old children. I love children and babysitting gives me so much joy. Reading is also very important to me. I always have a book that I am reading or that is sitting next to my bed. I also love to cook. My favorite thing to cook is pasta or any desserts. I love cooking because it often times brings me closer to my
Which form of entertainment does Donnie likes to watch or listen to? Everyone has his/her own taste and preference based on the technology that most individuals prefer. From elderly people watching TV to teens using smart phones, these people like to watch whatever they want, whenever they want. There are several things on the list of entertainment about what to see or listen to; these choices may include movies, music, TV shows, video games, podcasts, and so on. I interviewed my partner, Donnie Wilson, to talk about what he likes to do in his free time involving entertainment technology. From what I understand from his explanation about his preferences, he says that movies are better than TV shows and sports, while music is his favorite form
