Each person is different and unique. As many know all too well, some personality types just do not mix well and cause chaos in the workplace and on a personal level. What if there was a way to help mend these relationships and make things work more smoothly in the workplace? There is no doubt that the productivity in our businesses, schools, and homes would increase exponentially. Personality tests provide us with the insight needed to know exactly what type of person we are and how we can mesh with others of different types to make relations more smoothly. Using the four-letter type, individuals can get a feel for their personality and how others view them. Researching the types of others can provide insight on how to communicate. Many individuals are perplexed or even bothered by the methods that another may take when getting things done. Some people may take their time and have a more relaxed approach to their work, while others may be the type to jump in and get things done as quickly as possible and move to the next problem. The purpose of this project is to look into my own life and find out what makes up my own personality type, and how I may better interact with others in a professional setting.
Method
Using the Jung Typology Test, I found my four-letter type that defines my personality. After I found my personality type, I directed my research to personalitypage.com to find out more about my type; such as, what my type was seen as to others, what sort of careers are normal for someone with my type to pursue, how I relate with others, and what I should do to grow personally and professionally. Type Talk at Work provided more insight into my own type, as well as a look into the minds of others.

Since I began the book Type Talk at Work I have examined my coworkers as well as my students and team to try and put letters to them. I try to see how they tick, and what drives them. I feel that finding out these things can make for smoother relations and a better overall outcome in our goals as a school and football team. I feel that I have an advantage when it comes to putting letters to the people I interact with because my personality type has an ability to read people well.

I have found that even though my personality is outgoing and I tend to make friends quickly in any situation, I can be a bit abrasive to those who tend to stay to themselves. I should be a better listener and chose what I say with more caution. I am the person who talks to the people in the grocery store line and leaves by having already given a verbal dissertation on my life or viewpoint. This is a downfall/habit I believe I learned from my family, I am the third generation of "20 Minute talks" I have an inability to stop talking or openly discussing with people. As I have learned to harness myself over the years, I see how it aids in my influencing people, because if someone hears something enough they will begin to believe in your vision or your observation. This also is my direct line to building trust, because it is not only spewing out words and explaining it is paired with listening and being attentive to what others are saying. I align everyday discussion with purposeful direct professional advices. Communication does help me with students when they are trying to explain something and lose words or cannot describe things, it helps them fill in blanks. In Physical Education it is key, I not only have to show visually the movements and actions but verbalize and communicate the sequences for students to use as guidelines for success. If my communication is not clear I had a bank of different word approaches to get through to students if it must be differentiated for them. People on this planet have distinct personalities that differentiate them from everyone else. Personality refers to the “structures and propensities inside people that explain their characteristics patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior” (Colquitt, Lepine, and Wesson 278). Personality has the ability to shape the way people perceive who we are, telling them how we behave in a social environment. Being that there are more than 1,000 adjectives used to describe the types of personalities, the Big Five Taxonomy is used to summarize all those adjectives. In this paper, I intend to discuss the Big Five Taxonomy Dimensions in the workplace.
Within the Jung Typology Test (JTT) it states that my type of personality is introverted, sensing, feeling and judging. The results indicated I am an introvert over extrovert, the score showed 56%. There was a marginal or no preference to sensing over intuition at 1% for this result. Moderate preference to feeling over thinking at 25%, and a strong preference to judging over perceiving at 78%. So this is saying that I am an introverted sensing with extroverted feeling.
For this project; I will be discussing the findings of my personality type. According to “Jung’s Personality Test”, I am an ENTJ. Various sources point to this type as;” The Executive.” The research I have done has brought tremendous insight into; who I am as a person, the functions of my thinking process and how to utilize my strengths to be more of an efficient/successful person. I also learned about the various careers the best suit my personality type which; helps me when It comes to job seeking after graduation. It is very important to know yourself and see how you can maximize on your God given potential. For that reason, I am very glad I took the personality test and studied this subject manner. The bases of this paper will be based on the results that I had obtained when I took the Myers-Briggs personality test. The results that I had obtained was that I was determined to be an ENFJ. I will go into depth about letter and how each represents that a specific aspect of my personality. The results that I had received were not what I had expected, but the more I read about the trait the more I realized how it suited me. I will also talk about the information that I had found useful from the book, Type Talk at Work: How the 16 Personalities Types Determine Your Success on the Job by Otto Kroeger, which gave me insight on how to interact with other personality types especially in the work environment. The information that I absorbed from the personality test and from the book will go into use in my personal and work life so that both environments will be cohesive and peaceful.
According to Carl Jung’s typology theory each individual develops personal preferences which become the foundation for how they face life’s challenges and interact with others. Based on this knowledge Isabel Briggs Myers developed the Myers-Briggs Type indicator (MBTI). This test helps individuals identify and study their individual preference and those of others. After taking the Jung Typology Test, which is based on the MBTI, it was confirmed that my four dominate personality preferences are Introversion, iNtuition, Thinking and Judging. I explain how important personality types are for organization, how I personally deal with coworkers, and how I can use these different types to become a better employee. The Jung Typology Test described me and my habits exactly. In addition, my reading and research has helped me realize there are no “good” or “bad” personality types just different ones with both strengths and weaknesses but they are all relative. While one may compliment others better than another, all are needed in order for the workplace to be successful.
It is remarkable that by answering a few basic questions, a person can learn key characteristics of his or her personality. After taking the personality test, I learned my general personality type is “The Consul” (ESFJ-A). Individual traits of my personality type are more extroverted than introverted, more observant than intuitive, more feeling than thinking, more judging than prospecting, and more assertive than turbulent. My role is Sentinel and my strategy is People Mastery (“Consul Personality,” 2017). An individual’s personality is the basis of who they are and generates how they react to and behave in different situations. Personality testing is used in workplaces to identify whom to hire, promote and even put into teams. Personality testing is efficient in being able to determine which employees will perform best in certain roles, and this can remove some stress from employers. Personal testing has been shown to help improve the quality of employees who are in the workplace. The method of assessing personalities that will be examined in this essay is the Big Five taxonomy method. The two main questionnaires, which are used to determine these traits, are the Sixteen Personality Factor (16PF) Questionnaire and the NEO personality test. A participant’s results from a personality survey will be analysed to determine what their results mean for current and future workplace behaviour.
