Interprofessional education (IPE) is a collaborative approach to develop healthcare students as future collaborative team members. The goal of this interprofessional learning is to prepare all health professions students on how to deliberatively work together with the common goal of building a better patient centered and community oriented health care system. By intertwining amongst other professions, students are able to gain an understanding of other professional’s roles within the health care team. Many patients have complex health needs and typically require more than one discipline to address their issues. In this event, the matter that is unusual can be the fact that I have experienced and witnessed the process for interprofessional collaboration between the community nurse and other professionals that I have never knew about before. This event made me realize that there are many aspects of community nursing that I have knew about before where in this situation it is the importance and accountability of interprofessional collaboration. From my nursing theory course I have learned that interprofessional collaboration is when the nurse forms relationships with other professionals that enable them to achieve a common goal to deliver care and strengthen the health system and clients involved in it. (Betker & Bewich, 2012, p.30) In this event, our mutual goal is to provide the appropriate care for the patients/residents so they can restore their health after their hip or knee surgery. By working together there is information sharing, improve safety and quality also collaboration gives knowledge to other professionals. (Littlechild and Smith, 2013).what I have learned through working in partnership with other professionals was creating a poster related to what each professional does. Some of the professionals I did not know how exactly they work together in partnership. Example: I was not aware of how a radiology would work with a social work and the outcome of that was that Radiology develop and maintain collaborative relationship with medical colleagues and participates in regular meetings with other professionals activities to meet the needs of a service users therefore they collaborate with Social Workers. By doing a poster and delivering information I learned a lot from the other team members, shared experiences knowledge and skills with other group members. It is important that all team members are aware of their role within the group and that they are performed correctly to meet their goal. For example, at a nursing home a nurse and a CNA work closely together. As the CNA is preforming ADLs he/she is able to assess the patient for any problems that the resident may be having. The nurse is then made aware of any problems and may ask the CNA to assist in a situation such as turning the resident in order to administer a shot. By working together the medical staff are able to reach set health goals and help the patient more efficiently.
The advantage of a multidisciplinary team approach is that all professionals work together by collecting the facts and by bringing information together, to obtain as complete a view as possible of the problems of each individual patient. In doing this they are able to make sure that the proper range of treatments are used in a properly planned way (Onyett 2003).

Interprofessional collaboration is the practice of working, communicating and sharing responsibilities among healthcare professions for the benefit of patients and professions. Throughout workshops and clinical placements, I was exposed to an interprofessional collaborative environment. During an MDT, I saw surgeons create treatment plans by assessing the patient fitness for surgery preoperatively and perform surgery while postoperative management and rehabilitation involve other professions.
