As it says in the same article the best part of the internship is that interns are not left alone by themselves. They have supports and mentors who guide them to be more compatible in the future. They give advice, suggestion and different sorts of ideas for planning and being successful. Also on the same note, in another scholarly article name, An Empirical Comparison of Internal Auditors, Professional Performance With or Without Prior Academic Internship mentions that an internship allows a student to develop in the real work environment and gain practical experience while earning their degrees. One of the main reason universities have internship requirement for most of the majors is for the academic benefits of students. There have been done many studies in regards to internship benefits for college and university students. As it says” In addition to academic benefits resulting from internships, there are employment benefits as well. Research shows that the internship experience provides students with a competitive advantage over the non-intern with respect to initial employment, increased compensation, and promotion. The results of this study show that for the sample participants, there were significant
Apart from the experience I have gained at LT Security Inc., my various internship positions have also exposed me to eye-opening responsibilities. For example, as a marketing intern at MySelf New York, I engaged in organized discussions with customers as well as colleagues in the pursuit of better promotional and marketing strategies. I have also gained experience with other matters such as employee coaching and assistance, employee relations, communication and implementation of policies and procedures during my time at Stony Brook University as intern in arts management and at Yunnan Changji Real Estate Co. Ltd where I served as an administrative
When choosing an occupation, one has hundreds of different opportunities that are available. Throughout childhood, every person has had some form of a dream job they wanted to reach. Some people wanted to be astronauts, others firefighters, and yet some wanted to be police officers. The lifestyle that is portrayed of a police officer on the television looks glamourous and action packed, with high speed chases all the time and frequent doughnut stops. But this is not necessarily the reality of the situation.
Serve and protect as a police officer in the city of Santa Ana has been my career dream goal since I was growing up being influenced by police officers throughout my education. Seeing so many casualties by violence in my community is one of the reasons why I am pursuing this profession, so that I can be able to accommodate the best way I can to reduce the violence. Other reasons why I am desiring to become police officer is to save someone 's life, help people make better choices, challenging tasks, and serve my community. Although dilemmas with people being unsupportive with law enforcement has increased, I will continue to pursue this career and make a tremendous impact in the community. This career will provide me with excellent benefits
Business internships are helping students gain real world experience while they are not actually out in the real world yet. Internships are becoming more and more popular with college students in today’s world. An internship is basically when a student in college goes to a company or business and works while they are still enrolled in school and still getting academic credit. The main purpose of the internship is for the student to gain valuable on the job work experience. But there are also other things that a student can get from internships. Internships help the student decide whether or not this line of work is correct for them. Since the student works in an occupation in which they are highly interested in it really helps them get a bigger picture of the outside world.
It has given me my duties to know what to do in situation of need and my brief experience in the police department have giving me experienced. I will contribute my knowledge and skill to help the Police Department as best I can. I attend Northwestern State University and I’m a sophomore and my field of study is Criminal Justice I will graduate from school May 6, 2018. Furthermore, I can gain more leadership and cooperation with other colleagues, and deal with the relationship between artists, customers, managers, and co-workers. This internship is a good way to use the knowledge that I learned from class and transition the information to practice. After this internship, I can realize what information I have gained and what knowledge or skills I need to
I experienced two outstanding ride-alongs with Officer Boric in Independence division and Officer Wagner in North Tryon. Officer Boric was extremely insightful and open to teaching me about her knowledge and experiences in the field. I appreciated her genuine effort to expose me to various types of calls and to introduce me to other women officers in her division. I learned a lot about the academy, the benefits of a law enforcement career, and how officers respond to different types of calls. The ride-along with Officer Borric left me enthusiastic and open to exploring the potential of a career in law enforcement.
Choose this route to start my reading because police work is a very specific field for an overall theme to start with. After time filtering through some journal articles and rewording search text I eventually found an article by Cynthia D. Fisher called Mood and emotions while working – missing pieces of job satisfaction which was written ibn 1998. Fisher does a real good job evaluating the problems with current ways jobs study their employee’s emotions. She makes a good point to define moods which are usually studied and emotions in quoting “Moods tend to be longer lasting but often weaker states of uncertain origin, while emotions are often more intense, more short lived, and have a clear object or cause” (Fisher, 1998). Which in this part makes a lot of sense when relating it back on my personal job and the internship.
The tasks that I will be doing at the agency are intakes, exits, phone calls to clients, and filing. On my first week there one of the interns went over the days/times of the group meetings, how to call clients to make up classes, and looked over an intake form for domestic violence clients. This intern made me feel extremely comfortable by saying that I could go to her if I ever needed help with anything. This made me happy, because I have always been afraid to ask for help and knowing that I can have someone there to go to is
(Burkey 497). With the poor economy there aren’t many job openings for new graduates just entering the workforce. For this reason many students choose to do an internship in hopes of gaining some experience before entering the workforce. Job openings are become more and more competitive; employers seek out the best candidates for the opening position. Recruiters start with finding ways to shorten their list of potential employees.
Together with effort made by Taylor’s University, internship has become a compulsory program to go through during higher educational level in almost all hospitality, tourism and culinary arts programs in Malaysia. There are many positive effects for all stakeholders by forming a triangular partnership between schools, students and industry. Internship can be considered as a great opportunity for students. With good performance and ability shown they are able to continue their working contract in the future. Besides that, the
Thank you for creating the opportunity for me to experience what it?s like in a Police Department. I greatly appreciate all the time and effort you put forward for me to do this internship.
In the entire six months of my internship the more work I did, the more experience I gained. It is the only way out to get better. I was there to learn so I made most of my time there. There are some rules and regulations of the company that we need to follow and being sharp on time is very important. Cowor...
I found it very interesting that the interns are considered valuable (Loretto, 2017). Of course having a young intern in business full of mIllennials were the younger generation can help with what's new in our society now. However, I never thought them as completely valuable because majority of the time an intern is someone coming out of high school r college with little or not work experience. An intern is hired, yes to help, but mostly learn in the particular job field. When I here intern I always think about organizations needing them for free labor, which is why I always looked for a paid internship because I wanted to feel closer to being seen as an actual employee.
