In a healthcare organization like any other organization, good leadership is important and critical for the organization success. Five most important leadership qualities in healthcare are self-awareness, visionary, possessing emotional intelligence, decision making, and critical thinking. Leaders with well cultivated self-awareness and passion are truly exceptional leaders and are often described as highly principled and passionate about quality patient care and the community they serve. Every leader needs to have the ability to have good judgement, creativity, and decision making skills in providing good quality care to patients. The ability to make best decisions in high pressure situations and execute a plan that is effective in reaching the required solution. Four Management functions are planning: determined goals and policies and procedures, Organizing: est. structure to carry out plans, Staffing, Directing: human resources, Controlling: appraisals, quality control. One of the most common sets of activities in the management is planning (0). In an organization there are many kinds of planning that goes into daily operations and it ranges from highly complex to simple issues. Successful planning and implementation include the following; Set goals and objectives, how to achieve those goals and resources needed, assign task, and review finished task. In order to run a successful organization, Healthcare managers have to be good at solving a problem facing an organization. First of all you need to define the problem, look at potential causes for the problem, select an approach to resolve the problem, monitor the implementation of the plan, and verify that the problem has been solved. Delegation involves transfer of authority and power, but not the responsibility which remains with the managers. Being able to delegation is an important management function and it helps to improve the skills and commitment of entire staff involved. As a leader you select the right person or team for the task, specify your preferred results, get feedback on the progress of the project, maintain open lines of communication, and evaluate and reward
