Some of those who would work under him would be people who work in the food and beverage department, in the restaurants, for room service. You would need someone called a Convention Services Manager, who handles all things with different businesses and their meetings while away, even reserving conference rooms so that they have somewhere to meet. I consider every position mentioned to be extremely important to the overall outcome of how the hotel performs each day. Either being in charge of a hotel or owning your own is a big responsibility, but you have a whole team standing behind you to help, which is all that matters. In conclusion, the operations and different departments of a hotel are all extremely important because in all honesty without them you could not run a hotel smoothly. You need to have a pleasant and nice staff to work in the hotel, but also as a manager you have to be happy and care for your staff because that makes a happy and enjoyable work environment. My group previously visited the Sheraton Hotel for our first interview with the front desk manager and it went very well. We decided to keep with the same hotel for our next interview, but due to a last-minute cancellation from the housekeeping manager we were not able to complete the interview. Due to this situation, I will be talking about a whole different hotel - G6 Hospitality. The name G6 Hospitality refers to the hotel brands – Motel 6 and Studio 6. I chose to G6 Hospitality because it is a well-known company that I wanted to know about more in-depth. From all my research, I have gained a lot of insight on what G6 Hospitality is all about.
Not everyone is the same, especially when it comes to expectations. Depending on a person's ethnic background, the necessities are different. It's the same type of idea for different cultures; Chinese, French, American etcetera all have different mindsets when it comes to what they want to see in a hotel during their stay.
Now that you know what the positions are looking up the details would be the next step. The General Manager of Hotel and Lodging is responsible over all the operations of the hotel. It is important for the General Manager to make sure that timings run smoothly and all employees are doing their jobs and the guest are happy. In order to get this job done there are several directors that report to the General Manager. The Director of Human Resources oversee the Human Resources Department where all of the employees needs are taken care of and the hiring/firing of employment takes place.
