The permission of cellphone devices during school hours could affect a school a lot in many ways. There are many reasons that support this statement. Cellphone have become a great addiction to people in our community these days. People want to take them everywhere and anywhere they go. Schools have been dealing with the problem of whether it should be allowed for students to use cellphones during class time or not. There are many positive effects for this, but most of them are negative. Most students that attend school believe the use of cellphones during school hours should be permitted, but they don't realize how badly this can affect them and their safety. It should not be allowed for students to use cellphones or any other electronic …show more content…
This is something even more serious than the other ones because the school will have to deal with emotions and insecure feelings, which are very complicated things. Bulling is usually committed on the way to school, inside a school, and to the specific individual who attends that school. Its not he only place where this type of situations are dealt with, but it's the place where bullying mostly happens. Since bullying is pretty much the same as cyber bullying, cellphones could bring cyber bullying into schools and make it the place where it could happen the most. People who bully or cyberbully are usually people who careless about their grades because it's just not cool for them or just because they don't want to study. The make fun of others that make good grades in person or could do it through their cellphones to make that person feel bad about themselves. A student like this could get bored in class and get his phone out to intimidate another person for fun. This affects the person that is being intimidated a lot. This interrupts the person's learning, it distracts him, and makes him feel scared or insecure in school. This type of fear has lead many people to suicide. School is a place where people are suppose to feel safe, not scared. It should not be tolerated at
Because students are distracted by the use of cell phones, schools around the country have made a stand to make sure they are not inhibiting the learning process. But do the bans really make a difference? Students seem to still be sending text messages in class. Legal issues have been questioned concerning the use of cell phones; do instructors or administrators have the rights to confiscate cell phones if used in class? Thomas Diamantes, of Wright State University, says, “In Tinker (Tinker v. Des Moines, 1969), the court established the "material and substantial disruption" test to protect freedom of speech and expression.”
The teacher asked us to look up an answer before quickly realizing that we were unable to use our phones in school. What is more irritating to her: the fact that her students could not have easy access to their phones to look up the answer or the few kids who are always distracted by their phones whenever she is trying to teach? Technology is becoming a new thing in this generation and trying to control the use of smart phones is incredibly hard. Aside from that taking cell phones completely out of students’ hands throughout the school day is unreasonable. I know that is how it used to be, but things change and we are growing up in a new time and age where we are surrounded by technology. Students should be permitted cell phone usage in school
One reason that cell phones should be banned from classrooms is because students who use them fall into a daze of distracted learning. Classes are taught by teachers, whose goal is to give the student an educational experience, learning things they will need to apply to their later life. However, students on their cellphones are distracted from their learning and never use the lessons taught. Over 2,000 cellphone disturbances were reported in New York City in the past school year (Backstory). This means that over 2,000 people had issues with cellphones interrupting classroom discussi...
Picture this, there has been a school lockdown, the suspect cut the landlines so no one could call the police for a rescue. However, the suspect was captured by the police much faster than he imagined. The last scene wouldn’t have happened if it was one decade ago, because cell phones were not popular in schools then. When it comes to cell phones, some people think they should not be permitted in schools, and other people think they should be permitted in schools. I agree with the latter opinion for the following reasons: Cell phones are an efficient way to communicate when emergencies occur in school; cell phones can be a great tool for learning during school hours; and the current prohibitive rules on cell phones are merely fruitless efforts. Cell phones should be permitted in schools, because they could be very beneficial and practical in schools.
Schools should allow cell phones in schools for children's protection and safety. Secondly, cell phones can keep you connected with your buddies. Instead of screaming, and yelling in the halls to ask your buddy for books, you can simply call them on your cell phone. Some students ask themselves, "If teachers are allowed to use cell phones in class?"... ...
With the blooming development of science and technology, mobile phones have become an indispensable part of life. The increasing number of teenagers who use a cell phone in schools which disrupts classrooms orders has become a major concern. However, mobile phones should not be banned in schools. Actually, it is not necessary to ban mobile phones in schools. Additionally, using mobile phones in schools has some positive influences. Furthermore, it is likewise a human right for students.
It’s not acceptable to use cell phones in class. Actually, using cell phones has more negative effects than positive. So, why do we need to change the policy that prohibits students from using cell phones in classrooms? In my opinion, I will say no, we shouldn’t change the policy that exists now - no cell phone use, under any circumstances.
You're doing an assignment, you don't know a word. What do you do?You can't use Siri, you will get in trouble.Schools rules are always changing, one of the biggest rules that are always changing are cell phone rules. Some schools allow them, but most don’t.Although students get distracted, they should be able to use there phones in class because you can use educational resources, listen to music, and be a tool used by teachers for instructions.
Ever since incidents such as 9/11 and Columbine, high schools have started implementing new rules regarding cellphones. Cellphones regard the attention of building managers, teachers, parents, and students. Although teachers see them as a distraction and a way to cheat, they can be quite helpful to students. School districts should permit students to use cellular devices in school for purposes of improving their education and providing themselves a sense of security.
Dear Principal Warren, I think that cell phones should be banned from schools because during an emergency phones can make the crisis even bigger, because it’s a distraction, and because kids can cheat off their phones. If you ever given a kid a phone you know that everything else in the world is nothing. So when you want to lift the cell phone ban, you might want to think twice. One reason cell phones should be banned from school is because it can make an emergency even bigger. For example say there’s a fire.
Cell phones are small and portable yet provide so much to its user with being able to look up anything to calling your parents in case of an emergency or if you need to give them a heads up on something. With the way things are today people need to focus on incorporating cell phones into daily life and finding ways to make them more suitable in a classroom environment. Teachers are already doing this though with using apps that work with the whole class and can track data and usage of a student. It cannot be debated that cell phones are beneficial in school as before cell phones you would have to go to your local library and hopefully find what you are looking for. Cell phones belong in a school environment as they can be helpful and it 's a parent 's right to be able to get ahold of their
The part of society that is against the use of cell phones in school do it because of the interference that a cell phone can cause. Nevertheless we must accept that we live in a world full of technology. We miss out if we do not take the upper hand of the educational power of the cell phone. Overall, cell phones supply us with learning resources and encourage suitable use of technology. Therefore the schools should not ban cell the use of cell phones on school grounds.
Many teens in school do allow cellphones in class, but the real problem is that it can get distracting, and it can also cause many problems if the student is not paying attention in class and getting distracted from their phone. Kids could also feel much more tempted to cheat on tests by letting their school allowed cellphones in class. Kids could also be sending test answers over text messages to other classmates. Schools should ban students from carrying cell phones during classes. Cell phones can be a major distraction and impair student learning. Cell phones also give students more opportunities to cheat and
Students might use their mobile phone such as a camera for bullying. For instance, they might record someone while there are in the bathroom and send to other students or post it on the internet. In addition, they may send a certain message to intimidate the others. Bullying can also happen to teachers. For example, students record their teachers while they are teaching (Pickett and Thomas 2006). ...
Nowadays science and Technology has been advance and develop also. We are now living in a modern society, in which the standard of our living is improving day by day. The use of modern technology has become an essential part of our life. Nowadays the mobile phones have also become an essential part of our life because everywhere the people are using it for e.g. even the students are also using them in their daily life. The students are using mobile phones for calling, text and messaging and do all sorts things. The advance technology has affected the schools also. However the cell phones have become an essential part of our life. It is used in primary school, secondary, light schools and even in sixth forms also. If supposing you are sitting in your class room and all the students are busy studying then you head a separated, rhythm and ringtone sound. Then the silence of the class is disturbed by this sound. This is a serious problem, which is faced by all the teachers and all the students. The ringtone of the cell phone disturbs the whole class. It effects the cycle of educated and learning also. There are rules in the schools also. But it looks as if in schools student don’t listen to the rules. It means that rules are made to be broken. Whatever the rules are the students will use the cell phones. The question arises in mind that do we really need a mobile phone in school? Do we ban the cell phone in schools? No not really but on the other hand if the argument is against the cell phones then the next is for the cell phones. It is useful because the parents give their children cell phones and allow them to buying in schools. For instance supposing their get in some kind of trouble, the parents can contact them by their cell phon...
