Professional Philosophy I am a future physical education teacher. I believe in educating the child as an individual. Each child has different educational needs. No matter what kind of challenge a person faces, if they have the right support they can overcome and accomplish anything they set their mind too. I believe in every child, anyone can learn and participate in an event, some accommodations may have to be made, but the world is an adaptable place. Sense the world started it has adapted for many reasons making accommodations for a child to succeed would not be difficult. I believe that every child in the world deserves the chance to live life to the fullest, every person faces challenge in their lives. Each child is unique and …show more content…
Encourage each child to become strong individuals by showing them they can do anything. Adapting an event or activity for them to become successful, and then explaining this will still allowing them to be strong successful individual. I will not only teach them by lecture, but lead by example, I will not just watch the students do the activity I will participate in the activity they are doing. I will support and treat each child as an individual, adapting the program/activity to make them be as successful as they can. I believe each child is different, they come from different backgrounds, they are heading down different paths and they face different challenges, and children are individuals and should be treated as such. My career goal is to become an Adapted Physical Education teacher for elementary school students. I strongly believe that children at a young age are easily molded; I believe if we teach children at a young age to be strong, in depended people, they will be more successful later on in life. I will give each child support that will help he or she succeed at the task at hand and learn that they can do anything they set their minds too. Life is full of challenges that come in all different …show more content…
Schools are just building however they bring together all of the components to create an educated person under one roof. As a physical education teacher I believe more than just writing, reading, history, science, and math should be taught to a student as a purpose of education. Schools should not just teach a student knowledge and content in reading, writing, mathematics, history, and science. Schools need to teach students more problem solving skills and physical actives for a healthy life. Students should also be prepared for adult hood through school; such as balancing a check book, doing taxes, basic cooking and sewing, family planning/care, budgeting money. Each student learns differently, as a teacher it is my job to provide different ways to teach my students. All students learn differently, some learn better hands on, when they can listen to verbal directions, visual learners like to see what they are learning. A good teacher should be able to recognize different learning preferences in their stud tens and be able to teach according to each students
My goal is to teach these children that they can have self-esteem, skills to excel in school and have the confidence they need to succeed in life. Some students do not learn the same way as their peers. We have to modify and try to explain things to them that they can understand and comprehend. Since I have been a teacher's aide these few years, I have come to understand why some children struggle. I am determined to make sure that anytime I got to work with students that I would be there for them and let them know that I care
Physical education should be a fun class, but fun does not have to mean chaos. I believe in a structure that will allow the students to have fun in a safe way. My lesson plans will be structured so that students are constantly engaged in physical activity. I feel that if I can keep students moving and learning, then the chances of misbehavior will decrease. In elementary school I feel that Instant Activities should be used to get students moving when they get into my class. High school is a little different. I feel that students at the secondary school level should be introduced physical fitness activities that will help keep them in shape later on in life.
In conclusion, the ideas presented here are an overview of my personal beliefs regarding education. I expect that experience may cause me to add to, delete or otherwise alter some of these views. It is my desire to continue to learn from my instructors, peers and ultimately my students so that I may become a well-rounded and effective educator. Someday soon, I would like to be able to describe my classroom as community of learners, having produced good citizens as well as educated individuals.
Physical activity should be encouraged at an early age. It would be best to make physical education a required school curriculum. A student taking a physical education class will have many benefits. For example, a child taking a physical education class will learn about proper exercising. It would also be wise if the instructors integrated information about healthy eating habits into the curriculum to further increase a child?s knowledge on good dieting. This will help a child develop physically more in strength and endurance which in turn will build healthy bones, muscles, and muscle development. Furthermore, at the same time a child will maintain a healthy weight from eating a nutritional diet. Having studied some physical education classes from personal experience, the coach was very passionate about being healthy. Before leaving P.E. class everyday, he would review all the major food groups and stress that the students stay away from fried foods and consume more fruit in their diet.
... I would encourage each student that they are capable of whatever they desire, whether to grow up to be the first woman president, an astronaut, fireman, or a cashier; along with those dreams they must know that all of their dreams start in the classroom with their education. I will also teach them that whatever they desire in their future, to be the best they can be. I desire to continue my education after graduating from State College with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, pursuing a master’s degree in elementary education, possibly majoring in science or history. With a teaching profession, the sky is the limit of what can be achieved.
...ow that I can go out there and make the kids smile and have fun but again that's easy. I want to be the teacher that the kids remember not only because I was but but also because I taught them something and gave them a new way of critically looking at things. I think I'll be good at implementing the social learning theory because I enjoy being involved and if doing so if helpful to them then its another added bonus. I hope I can keep my ideas fresh and creative through the use of technology so I always keep the children interest and keep them motivated and wanting to learn more. I believe that if you can get a kid motivated to learn then you can find a way to teach them anything. I really think I am going to enjoy not only challenging the kids, but also challenging myself to keep finding ways to relate to each student and to get them interested and excited to learn.
The value of physical education P.E. teachers bring to schools and their students. P.E. has an effect on everyday life. With this in mind I feel P.E. is highly valuable. Physical education activities have development in mind. Children can participate in a variety of activities and are encouraged to achieve overall wellness by continuously staying active.
eight to ten) should be applauded for this, but frowned upon for not enforcing it on senior high school students (grades 11 and 12). Physical Education is defined as “the process of education that develops the human body, specifically fitness and movement skills” (Baker, 1990, p. 14). This teaches students valuable skills that would be applicable to life, present and future. Students also learn how to work and interact with others to pursue goals in a way which academic subjects, such as mathematics and science, may not provide. Physical Education should be a requirement for all British Columbia high school students because it provides physical skills necessary for effective social functioning, offers educational value and teaches healthy habits reducing health risks.
In my first years of teaching I plan to get a better understanding of my school community and the surrounding community, so I know where and how to get support for my students. I plan on attending trainings to keep up with the various concepts and principles that I will have to follow when teaching. I will also need to develop deeper understandings of adolescent development which will help when I am teaching to see changes in behavior and understanding and how it relates to each individual student. As a long term goal I will build relationships with fellow teachers to provide them support and learn together to become a team of advocates for our students. I know that it is up to me to grow and continue learning all that I can to provide my students the best learning experience possible.
Physical education in school systems is beneficial because it improves students’ health. Without physical education the child’s overall health will decrease. Despite these benefits, some people believe that physical education has no value to children in schools. Physical education is significant in schools because it improves children’s health.
Schools exist to produce well educated youth that society will benefit from. From personal experience, ill-informed adults make for an unstable, rotten community. Schools hold a big responsibility. They should create a safe haven for students that creates a love for learning, and then also nurtures that same admiration for learning. Schools that students don’t feel safe in usually house students that aren’t interested in subjects that are being taught. They should maintain a well-educated faculty who is all passionate about what they do. If there is a lazy faculty, it will influence the students to become lazy. Schools need to produce the change that this world needs- well rounded, creative, knowledgeable individuals. An effective school in today’s society would have a strong basis on the common core, but make it so that the information is fun to learn. From experience, once the information fun to learn, the rest goes by
Schools are the places about which people generally hold a belief that growing and learning activities take place (Ben-Peretz, 2012). For centuries, society and family put their trust in the education for their offspring; however, the concept of school is not as simple as how it is conventionally perceived.
I am a hard-working, confident and conscientious and have a keen desire to be a primary school teacher. The main reason I want to pursue this vocation is because I love the prospect of working with children, being such an important part of a child’s life is a real honour. I have been fascinated at how quickly they learn things, gaining an insight into their perceptions and how they see the world, the idea of playing an active role in helping them develop, greatly appeals me. Having a long term goal of working with children, I believe I am particularly suited to a degree in Primary/Physical education. I gain huge satisfaction from being able to help them learn and discover new things about the world. Nurturing a child’s development is an occupation that offers huge satisfaction, both intellectual and emotional. My ambition is to be in charge of a classroom, to introduce ideas and skills to the class and observe and feel their response. The teacher’s skills of good communication, patience, clarity and the ability to explain the world are very demanding of one’s intelligence and one’s p...
Children are our future and it is up to us as educators to point them in the right direction. I always enjoyed school and found it fun and exciting. As I got older, I only remember the teacher's that made a difference in my life. I want to the teacher that makes a difference in a child's life. Whether it be as simple as a teacher, or advanced as a father-figure, I will be their for the children.
We need to continuously assess and evaluate our students so we can set appropriate goals for each student and individual instructions. Each child learns different, so as a teacher we need to have different styles of teaching for positive reinforcement.
