Do you find yourself rushing to get things done everyday? Constantly rushing to meet your deadlines, and always feeling overwhelmed with all that you have to do in life. Maybe you have poor time management skills? With all the stress and hustle of normal everyday life the adult learner has to throw in time to study, and complete homework. Having poor time management skills will have you rushing to meet the deadline ( Chambers. 2015). Your essays will lack the effort and you will make simple mistakes. You will not actually learn the material; you will just be trying to make the deadlines, and your grades will suffer. “ In 2012, it was reported that Americans spent 121 billion minutes on social media sites in the month of July alone. That’s 388 minutes- or 6 ½ hours- per person” ( Chambers, 2015 pg.3). It is suggested that you completely log out of all social media sites while attending school ( Chambers,2015). The 6 ½ hours spent on social media sites can be time spent managing your everyday life, and school life. Having good time management skills are an asset in everyday life, but good time management skills are a necessity as an adult learner. As an adult learner, you probably have a family, and a job. Learning good time management skills are vital when juggling so many variables. There are only 24 hours in a day. As an adult learner you will have to fit everything into these hours. Having a job, for most of us will take main priority. This means that you still have to fit your family and school work into your day. Neglect your school work and your grades will suffer.
