Want to feel better, have more energy and reduce your risk of serious disease? Look no further than exercise. The health benefits of regular exercise and physical activity are hard to ignore. Physical activity not only makes a person feel better, it can actually increase a person’s life span. Many people battle obesity and side effects that are caused by this sickness. The American Medical Association has recognized it as a disease as of two thousand and thirteen. The Liberal government has just released a document that they are cutting the Children 's Fitness Tax Credit. The way to be healthy is to be free of these things. The health benefits of exercise/physical activity are huge. Dr. Pete Lemon, a professor at the University of Western Ontario has proven that exercise and spontaneous daily activity is one of the keys to weight loss and healthy life. Some of the health benefits of exercise that Professor Lemon speaks of are: “Exercise improves fat metabolism and reduced pro-inflammatory markers. By improving fat metabolism, a person reduces their risk of diabetes. Reducing pro-inflammatory markers also, reduces a person 's chance of having a heart attack or stroke. The benefits are endless. Clearly, the Liberal government and Justin Trudeau have not explored these benefits enough, since if kids are able to develop a pattern of exercise early on, they will be very likely to continue this into adulthood. By developing this pattern early on, the overall health of the population would increase also. Many studies have been conducted over the exercise and how it helps to fight major diseases. One of these studies was conducted by Doctor Rebecca McPherson. Her study explored how exercise can combat the effects of Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s disease is progressive mental deterioration that can occur in middle or old age, due to generalized degeneration of the brain. Doctor McPherson stated that “181,000 Ontarians have dementia, a number that is expected to rise 40% to 255,000 by 2020, ten short years away” (McPherson, Western Symposium).
