Humans are dumping 1,000 tons of carbon dioxide into the environment every second and cutting down 62 acres of trees every minute. Destroying the natural cycles between the atmosphere and the earth’s surface, humans are slowly wearing away at the environment. And what is the long term effect of this constant wearing? Well, the Earth’s surface temperature is increasing at an unusually rapid rate. Although it only seems to be progressing slowly, global warming will catastrophically affect all life living in the biosphere because of how fast it is happening. Global warming is a problem that affects everyone, caused by human pollution and greenhouse gases, changing daily life and ultimately altering the future of our species. First, people need to use the media to their advantage to educate each and every person about global warming (McKibben). Nothing can be done to stop this crisis if people don't have enough information about it. If everyone drove fewer miles, used less electricity, and changed their eating habits a little, climate change would be greatly reduced (“How You Can Stop Global Warming.”). This is probably the cheapest and easiest way to slow down the process. Another way to slow global warming down is to use clean energy (“How You Can Stop Global Warming.”) . This includes using solar, hydro and nuclear energy. Big companies play a huge role in global warming, and if every big company became carbon neutral it would be an extensive factor in slowing down the process of climate change (“How You Can Stop Global Warming.”). Less carbon in the atmosphere will result in lower surface temperature. It is very important to remember that this is a real life environmental problem that can be greatly reduced with help from different communities (McKibben). If nothing is done, this could potentially become life threatening to all life on Earth if it goes untouched for so long. This will happen because there simply won't be enough time for the different species to adapt to their new
In addition to lowering greenhouse gas levels and using cleaner energy sources, there are things we can do as people to stop climate change. We could reduce our use of electricity at our homes by turning off the lights when we leave the room, turning down/up the heating/ac when it is unnecessary, and using less water. Also, we could install solar panels in our homes and donate money to environmental protection agencies. Hopefully, the people of our world will soon realize climate change is a pressing issue that must be solved as soon as
When we reduce greenhouse gases, we reduce the amount of carbon dioxide that is released into the atmosphere. By not burning things such as fossil fuels as natural gas, coal, oil and gasoline we reduce global warming. Other things we can do to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is by using less heat and air conditioning. Some experts say that by just reducing the heat by 2 degrees in the winter and higher in the summer can save about 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide each year. Also by reducing, reusing and recycling half of household waste we can save 2,400 pounds of carbon dioxide annually. There are things a person can do hardly without even thinking that can help the cause of climate change such as replacing your lightbulbs, driving less, driving smart, buying energy-efficient products, using less hot water, planting trees and encouraging others to
Climate change is considered a controversial topic. Although scientists have been studying the issue, there are many citizens that are still not fully educated about it. Therefore, there are people who support scientists in their results, and there are people who deny the scientists’ findings as propaganda or exaggerations. This is the same issue even in politics, where the two main parties, Democrats and Republicans, have opposing perspectives on climate change. One can really tell just by looking at their approach to the issue, especially their tone and diction. The republican candidates doubts climate change, and when the topic is brought up during an interview, the republicans flatly deny it with no further discussion. They do give some
The topic I choose is Global Warming. Global warming is a big issue on the earth. This is the issue that I am most worry about, because If we don’t do something right now, then is going to be too late. When I am in trips with my family there is always a place where people contaminate our environment and that make me feel bad. In the Amazons in Brazil, they have a very big deforestation issues. Claim; Although you only one person cannot, you can still help and participate in saving the rainforest for many reasons. They are killing thousands of trees everyday. Deforestation of the Amazon rainforest can be attributed to many different factors at local, national, and international levels. The rainforest is seen as a resource for cattle pasture,
For many years we have been hearing about how the world was going to end if we do not clean up our acts and stop causing global warming. In reality, we actually are not harming the planet at all and it is all a hoax in order to help the government raise more money. They say with in an increase in CO2 and the earth’s temperature escalating we are doomed for the world to eventually go down in flames. On the contrary, the multiple unscholarly reports have been used as scare tactics when we actually have little to nothing to worry about.
There are things that can be done about global warming that individuals cannot control. The government can do a couple things to lessen the effects of global warming. First of all, they can support and fund scientific researches in finding technologies that use less energy or emit little to no carbon dioxide. By funding this research, we can have more energy sources that emit less carbon dioxide. These energy sources are hydro power, solar power, wind mills, as well as other renewable energy sources. By creating more renewable energy sources, not only will energy be saved but it will also provide more job opportunities for people which in turn will help the economy. Another thing the go...
Global warming can only be solved if individuals do something to stop it, so it is helpful for them to be aware of the problem. However, many individuals do not believe in global warming, and many do not want to believe once it would harm their business and interests. Nevertheless, by decreasing the production of cars, fabrics and others, would also decrease global warming. In addition, the planting of trees would also be vitally important. Trees take sunlight and convert water and Co2 to oxygen, so more trees the better to solve the
Climate change. The two letter word so feared by scientists, so ignored by the average human being. What is it that makes scientists fear this phrase so much? For the concept of “climate change” has been seen throughout the history of the earths existence. For centuries, our climate has fluctuated through increasing and decreasing amounts of atmospheric carbon dioxide and climatic cycles. So what is the big deal? The problem, and the reason why this concept instills fear directly into the core of scientists is the rate at which over the past 1,300 years atmospheric carbon dioxide levels have risen. This unnatural increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide, due to the immense amount of anthropogenic burning of oil and coal, affects the transfer
But what are the possible steps to fight global warming? One, the greenhouse gases emissions must be contained. Everyone needs to work together to reduce the burning of fossil fuels. This requires real leadership to convince everyone to engage. We can bring the carbon dioxide away from the atmosphere by planting more trees.
Title: Quality caring in Nursing Name of student: Professor’s name: Course title: Date: Quality Caring in Nursing & Health Systems Health care system is rapidly evolving nowadays and this evolution stimulates the nursing profession to look into the quality of its services with a systematic approach. Studies have shown that a very strong bond exist between professional nursing and outcomes of quality health. Nursing services are provided across many settings and are accountable for majority of health related activities seen in hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes as well as in private homes and schools.
Even if the reason of climate change may be the natural cycles, we humans are the major determinant to it. The huge amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is causing the climate change and this amount is rising day by day, as a result of our actions. Greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide, generally absorb and emit the heat in the atmosphere to keep the Earth’s climate habitable. However, as we continue to burn fossil fuels, this habitable Earth’s temperature will blow up, and as a result, some species will die out due to various problems which are caused by climate change. According to EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), the most obvious consequence of climate change is the rising sea levels, which will cause some seashore habitats to become unavailable to live to its species.
What Humans are doing to this Planet. “Global warming is already having significant and harmful effects on our communities, our health, and our climate.” (Cole). Global warming is one of the more controversial hot topics that have been on the rise over the last few years.
Because of this it has reduced food scarcity and every time the world’s temperature increases by 1⁰ C, global agriculture declines up to 10% which reduces the productivity of staple foods. Sea levels have risen 8 inches over the past century and scientists have discovered that it is only going to rise more over time if climate change maintains its perpetual state. Ice melting, droughts, torrential downpours, ocean acidification, and even an increase in pests and disease cause many of us and nature to be affected. If we don't attempt to reverse it our own planet will eventually deplete over time and be overflowing with negativity as our health takes on these major risks and conflicts. The Continuation of the emission of greenhouse gases will only cause further warming among with permanent changes in every component of the climate system, increasing the likelihood of severe, pervasive and irreversible impacts for both people and ecosystems.
Global warming has been a major issue for the past few decades. Some people believe there is not enough evidence to support it. Future generations will suffer the consequences if everyone does not cooperate to reduce the effects of Global warming. Carbon dioxide emissions from automobiles and factories trap the sun's heat in the atmosphere which causes global temperatures to rise, melting of polar ice caps, and extreme weather patterns.
Global Warming One of the most substantial problems in the world today is global warming. This gradual warming of the earth is in occurrence at an extremely slow rate but it is happening. Many scientists believe that as human’s work and release greenhouse gases into the earth’s atmosphere, it can become dangerous for the long lasting life of humans and our environment. “Unless we take immediate action, the impacts of global warming will continue to intensify, grow ever more costly and damaging, and increasingly affect the entire planet - including you, your community, and your family” (“Global Warming Impacts”).
