Ducky bell Garber-Personal narrative My mind was boggled, I didn’t know why my parents insisted on taking me to such strange places. But this one was okay. When we walked in the door I spotted a bright mysterious little tree. I was four of course so I thought that this place was a dreamland. So while my parents were dragging me around this winter wonderland I spot this ornament on the same little tree and it had three little ducks on it and the bottom of those ducks were bells. So being me I took it off the tree and started to shake it around. Of course, it amused me so while my parents were shopping I was carrying around this bright yellow jingling ducky ornament. I may have liked this
When I learned that I would have to do my ethnographic report on what I did during Halloween, I was worried because I live in Turnpike and the most excitement that happens in turnpike is the sound of the garbage truck when it comes to pick up the Wednesday trash. Fortunately something did happen to me and I realized I would not have to write a boring paper of how I woke up and just stayed in my room the whole day. Well the day started off with me waking up and walking to the bathroom to take a shower, as soon as the turned the water on I realized I had left my shower and rather than turning off my shower I stayed in because the warmth of the hot water was too seductive for me to get out and get my towel. In the shower I had my usual thoughts about life, death, and comebacks to old arguments. Afterword I got out of my shower and reached for my toothbrush, which was located in a cupboard behind the toilet, but I grabbed at it too quickly and it fell in the toilet. I stood over my toilet for about five minutes just staring at my toothbrush in the toilet not believing what just happened, after that I started blaming myself for being too impatient. When I was done feeling sorry for myself I went into my room in search of another toothbrush but unluckily I couldn’t find one, so I had to go walk to the local store at around 7:30 in search of a toothbrush. While searching for a replacement toothbrush I realized that not that many people were in the store, I had always thought that stores were busiest in the morning and evening but apparently that’s not true. Once I got my new toothbrush I finished brushing, got dressed and went to catch the 11 to the Transit Center.
After we relaxed for a long time, it was time for me to go and wash off all of the seaweed my hair had collected. I turn on the shower and there is a huge spider waiting for me just sitting there waiting for me. I killed it and then resumed my shower. After I got out and we were all ready leave we didn’t know where to go. Until my sister saw a commercial for this really cool place with alligators and a Ferris wheel, we decided to go there. As we pulled up to the place we noticed that there was an amazing Ferris wheel and I immediately got really excited. But my parents said that I have to wait until after dinner. So we went and ate our amazing dinner and it was so amazing. I ordered the best lobster and crab, it was so
We went ahead and shopped for some souvenirs. I believe I my mom bought me a Batman tee shirt, along with a few other things I could not recall. Then I saw a store that sold candy. Walking in I saw a diverse variety of sweets, and they had everything from chocolate to lollipops. My eye caught a little container full of gummy worms, and I decided to a bag full of them. Once my mom purchased the candy, we began to head out. I remember walking next to my father. When suddenly, boom! I ran into a ginormous window, and my dad walked through the door. My parents and the young lady working the cash register began to laugh. My mom said, "Are you okay?", "Yes, I am fine.” I said. She looked at my forehead, and she noticed I had a small bruise. My mom thought it best that we sat down for a few minutes. I thought we should go on another roller coaster. We ended up getting on The Superman Krypton
When I was little, me and my family were sitting in the living room and watching T.V. and the next thing we hear is the doorbell. When my mom opened the door our family friend Mary, told my mom that she had dropped her keys in the dumpster and needed me and my
Growing up as an only child I made out pretty well. You almost can’t help but be spoiled by your parents in some way. And I must admit that I enjoyed it; my own room, T.V., computer, stereo, all the material possessions that I had. But there was one event in my life that would change the way that I looked at these things and realized that you can’t take these things for granted and that’s not what life is about.
A calm crisp breeze circled my body as I sat emerged in my thoughts, hopes, and memories. The rough bark on which I sat reminded me of the rough road many people have traveled, only to end with something no one in human form can contemplate.
As me and the rest of my family were walking house to house we started to have some fun. That was mostly because my mom was singing songs we barely new the words to. Since we didn’t know the words we didn’t have to sing .We were supposed to do about 4 houses but we ended up doing 2.
On that fateful day in March, I was a couple months shy of my third birthday. My family and I lived in New Mexico at the time and were renting a house with an outdoor in-ground pool. The day was beautiful. I was outside with my oldest sister Rachel and my father. Rachel was diligently reading curled up on a bench that sat against the house, and my father was mowing the backyard. My mother and my other sister were in the house. Off to one side of the house there was a group of large bushes. I was playing over there with one of her large cooking pots, off in my own little world. At one point while amusing and en...
My bedroom was all the way up in the attic on the second story of our house, well so was everyone else's. My bedroom had gorgeous baby pink walls and a humongous queen size bed with beautiful white sheets and pillows, my window had like a built-in bench. While I was in my room, it was about 9:30 p.m. I was reading my favorite horror book, ''Stephan King's IT''. While I was reading I kept hearing stuff downstairs but I just brushed it off. The next day me and my dad were outside playing in the muddy creek water. While, my dad was inside grabbing lunch I heard a horrifying screech. Being the curious 12-year-old, I am I decided to go and Investigate the horrible screech. As I was walking in the woods, I came across a horribly burned car, the cars rusted fame was all that was left. All of a
I remember one time I was in the Paper Moon card shop with my mom. We were just looking around the shop when a man came around the end of the wall of cards and started talking to me. At the time I honestly had no idea who the man was but it was obvious that he knew me. It was normal for me to be wearing some kind of camouflage, so he started asking me about hunting. By this time my mom had noticed him talking to me and had come to stand next to me and join in the conversation. The man asked me if I would like to go turkey hunting, I instantly said yes without even looking up to see what my mom thought about it. I remember my mom telling
My mother picked us up from our father's on Sunday evenings. On the ride home she told me she had a surprise for me. I knew that she'd rearranged our rooms (she did that all the time; she used to want to be an interior decorator), so I couldn't imagine what my surprise could be.
It was three weeks before my third birthday. The razor sharp air seemed to laugh at my winter coat, gloves, and hat. My Mother was pushing me along in a stroller at Carson Park. Walking briskly along the pond trail to keep warm, hiding that she did not want to be there. She knew that I loved to come look at the pond in the winter, and she braved the weather because of my birthday. I looked up with my curious eyes, trying to figure out why it was that the ducks left in the winter, why the water looked hard, and how people walked on the water like in the Bible. My Mother and I braved the weather for a whole day on the pond, and as the evening came, we decided to make our way home. She thought it would be nice if we took the long way out of the park and cross the bridge, and I couldn’t be more grateful, water mesmerized me. As we crossed the bridge, my world came to a halt. A group of crows feeding on a dead carcass scattered over my head. A man was standing on the other side of the bridge, with a shiny piece of metal in his hand. I didn’t understand, but my Mom knew that we were in danger, she knew what he held was a knife.
One day when arts and crafts was finished Spencer and I went and played at the park because our ride wasn’t here yet. Spencer and I were playing tag on the playground and climbing on the play globe because there was nothing else to do. We were getting tired of playing tag so we went by a tree to wait for our ride. We
...s mystery closet stayed shut unless we asked our grandma for permission to see its possessions. Inside, there were endless amounts of toys for us to play with. I remember the small, rubber figurines of the smurfs that my grandma had kept from when her children were young. They were complete with almost all of the different smurfs, their mushroom houses and accessories.
When my mom finally caught up with us we were in a new area. We saw peacocks, coyotes, a ram and a zebra. As we headed through the zoo, we saw these weird creatures that were very skinny and ate leaves standing on their hind legs. Later we saw giraffes, one of the giraffes was a baby so it wasn’t very tall. Surprisingly, the giraffes came really close to us. Then we went into this area where there were baboons and jaguars. Finally, we went down a long path and it felt like it was going on forever, but on the way down there was a certain smell that was strong and sweet. We finally realized that the smell was a churro truck. As we were getting churros I looked at the map and saw that we were right by the
