When I learned that I would have to do my ethnographic report on what I did during Halloween, I was worried because I live in Turnpike and the most excitement that happens in turnpike is the sound of the garbage truck when it comes to pick up the Wednesday trash. Fortunately something did happen to me and I realized I would not have to write a boring paper of how I woke up and just stayed in my room the whole day. Well the day started off with me waking up and walking to the bathroom to take a shower, as soon as the turned the water on I realized I had left my shower and rather than turning off my shower I stayed in because the warmth of the hot water was too seductive for me to get out and get my towel. In the shower I had my usual thoughts about life, death, and comebacks to old arguments. Afterword I got out of my shower and reached for my toothbrush, which was located in a cupboard behind the toilet, but I grabbed at it too quickly and it fell in the toilet. I stood over my toilet for about five minutes just staring at my toothbrush in the toilet not believing what just happened, after that I started blaming myself for being too impatient. When I was done feeling sorry for myself I went into my room in search of another toothbrush but unluckily I couldn’t find one, so I had to go walk to the local store at around 7:30 in search of a toothbrush. While searching for a replacement toothbrush I realized that not that many people were in the store, I had always thought that stores were busiest in the morning and evening but apparently that’s not true. Once I got my new toothbrush I finished brushing, got dressed and went to catch the 11 to the Transit Center.

...ince Halloween is an American tradition. After think about it for several minutes, I ended up being disappointed at my classmates who had spent all their life in American and didn’t dress up, they were beaten in a tradition that the international student had barely experienced. After that it was time for my classed so I hurried to Japanese 101 and stayed there for 3 hours learning Japanese then I went to the west side of the campus and attend my Intro to Social Research class and finally after that I took the 11 back home and fell asleep.’
I learned a lot thing during Halloween but I must say the most interesting to me was the bus incident. It might have been because I had never really ridden on a bus before I got to Santa Barbara and I found the whole thing to be strange but it might have been normal for the people who have lived in Santa Barbara for a long time
It was the day of April 13, 2000. I woke up at exactly 12 o’clock because my boyfriend was to pick me up at 1 like we planned the night before. The day looked quite nice, but I was in a fowl mood. I got into a car accident the night before and had a huge argument with my parents about the car. I finally dragged myself into the shower and got ready in half an hour. Then I went downstairs, sat on my couch, and repeatedly told myself the day would hopefully turn out better than last night. At around 1:15, my boyfriend came to pick me up. We took the 5 freeway to the 57 since it was the only way I knew how to get there. As we approached the 134 freeway, my girlfriend veered to the right, taking the 210 which was wrong way and got us lost. So, we exited the freeway and got back on the right track. Then finally, before long, we reached Norton Simon.
I can’t hold in my excitement as I run to the foyer. Mom looks at me worriedly, but I ignore her and throw open the door before the person standing behind it can knock. He looks at me with boredom lacing his expression, obviously expecting my weird gift to tell the future. I quickly hug him and grab his pale hand, pulling him outside. Tonight is Halloween, and the only time my pale blonde friend visits me. He’s my first and only friend, so I don’t mind that he doesn’t play with me the other three hundred sixty-something days in the year.
Halloween was not supposed to be like that, it was supposed to be more like when I was a kid. Houses would be decorated, jack-o-lanterns would be sitting near doors, and
A couple nights after Halloween, my friends and I thought it was be fun it we went to go watch a scary movie. Some of my friends didn't want to go on Halloween night because they thought it would be too scared, so we went a couple days after. I don't remember what we watched but all I remember is it said it was rated R, and I didn't even get scared of flinch once through out the whole movie. My friend were scared to death, they were hiding behind there hands, hiding behind there jackets, they were even hiding behind me. I just sat there in the movie theater, with a straight face.
My alarm goes off. I get up tired and sad that it's another day of school. I walk slowly and carefully to the bathroom, making sure I don't stub my toe on the door. I get to the sink and grab my toothbrush without thinking, and start brushing. Then I realize there was no toothpaste on I and think back to when I started brushing.
I was in my basement with my younger brother and my dad. My brother and I were bored so we started to pass a basketball back and forth. All of a sudden the ball hit my brother in the mouth. He flinched and had a look of pain on his face. I saw a tooth come out of his mouth and fly under a shelf. My dad gasped and looked at my and my brother. I was afraid my brother was going to be really mad at me. Luckily my brother doesn’t get hurt easily and he was fine, and actually happy I knocked out his tooth. I was relieved to know I didn’t hurt my brother. The only problem now was to find his tooth. My dad got a flashlight and shined it under the shelf searching for the tooth. Thankfully we found his, although it was very dusty.

It was Tuesday and the day was draining away. I wanted to go buy new hair dye, but I knew it was too late. Careless, I got money from my piggy bank and asked my little sister Natalie to come along. I usually go out by myself but I decided to take her to feel more safe. Since my parents were not home yet I had to make this trip quick, so we took the bus.
Halloween is often thought of a holiday were people can be scared and others can scare out of fun. This aspect of Halloween became very prominent after Michael Myers was introduced in 1978. This also began the Halloween tradition of releasing horror movies in October (Hicks). Most people only celebrate this holiday today because of the candy and the fun, not many people know the history of Halloween and how it became what it is today. When people do think they know the history of Halloween, they often confuse it with another day known as Day of the Dead. What is this holiday and how is it
Halloween is a historical holiday that dates back to several thousand years ago. When I think of Halloween some things that come to mind are decorations, pumpkins, costumes, and parties. Although, some Halloween traditions have come and gone, there are many that we still celebrate today in the United States.
It was two days till halloween and I went to get my costume. I decided to get a scary costume and I saw a slenderman costume. I wanted to get because I remember three years ago I wanted a slenderman costume me and my dad decide to get it and head back home quick because I wanted to wear the costume so badly. When we went home I ran to the bathroom like a crazy person to try on the costume. When I put the costume on it was hard to get the mask on because I had to zip the mask on when I put the mask on I couldn't see a thing.
Everyone remembers going out on Halloween and seeing how much candy he or she could get, then coming home and pigging out on it. Halloween comes from the pre-Christian Celtic festival of Samhain, which was on October 31. Trick-or-treating has been a tradition in the U.S. for about 100 years. As years pass, Halloween for children gets more dangerous every year. Halloween is a bad holiday for children because they pig out on all the candy that can lead to health issues, the people around are not as trustworthy, and there are many dangerous people within society.
I jumped out of the car with my two sisters and ran to the bathroom. When we left the bathroom, we walked back to the car. We saw that our dad was still putting gas in the car, so we went into the store to buy some sweets. I bought “warheads” that said extremely sour, and a bag of chips called “baked with fire” that looked like they would taste really hot. When we purchased our food, we walked back to the car. As soon as we started driving, I opened my bag of chips. I was so scared that they would be extremely hot. For that reason, I also bought a bottle of water. I opened it before I took a bite out of the chip. Luckily, they were not hot at all! I grabbed my sour candy and tasted it. My face changed so quickly; that I started to squint my eyes and point my lips. I could not take another bite of it because it was really sour! Eventually, I was not hungry anymore. Probably because I ate my whole bag of chips and a sandwich. When I finished eating, I was feeling exhausted, so I took a long nap. I woke up, and dad told me that we only needed to drive for one more hour. While we were driving through town, we saw a row of trees on fire! It was so smoky that we could barely see the street we were driving on. I felt scared for life and terrified that we might crash. After a few more minutes of driving, the smoke cleared up and we could see again. Finally, the hour passed and we arrived in California. Mrs.
My mom was incarcerated during the time so I lived with my Aunt Pompom. Aunt Pompom never let me and my cousins wake up late for school and if we did, we were driven. Coincidentally on this day both my cousin Zay and I over slept. So we jump up frantically and start putting on our clothes. In the mist of putting on my clothes I come on my menstrual cycle a week before it is supposed to come on. Then, to top that off when we tried to get my aunt up and she told us “yall over sleeping ass better walk”. She did not care if it was my birthday or not. So sadly Zay and I start walking and little did I know nature was also against me, it started to drizzle. I could feel every drip that dropped on me, I just knew I would smell like a wet dog once I got to school. The feelings I had walking were unimaginable I could have just clasped to the ground right then and there because there was no way my day could be enlightened it been ruined from the moment I
