Recommended: Theme of loneliness in literature

Florence Welch’s song Dog Days are Over aids me in my struggle to overcome past troubles and insecurities, as the lyrics of the song reflect the difficulty of getting over something that was truly important to you in a history of troubles. I was burdened with being the lighthouse to my parent’s difficulties when I was in high school because of their troubles with the English language, but this particular song showed how troubles can be metamorphosed into bliss, as I became closer to my parents. The film Spirited Away by Hayao Miyazaki means a lot to me due to its acknowledgement of loneliness and insecurity.
