Receiving my first collegiate scholarship was a very important point in my life. This is a wonderful experience that I would like to thank you for personally. I concluded my second year with all A’s and a cumulative 3.87 GPA. This summer I worked on a research project within the communication college at Ohio State, and in the fall I will begin my third year of college as a strategic communication major. I also hold multiple part time jobs, one of which being an audio visual technician in the Ohio Union. This scholarship will greatly alleviate some financial stress my parents and I have met during my time as a student.
At the conclusion of my undergraduate studies my current plan is to continue into grad school, hopefully with Ohio State’s
backing. I will also have a separate internship in order to complete my professional writing minor before I graduate in May 2018. After college I imagine myself in a career of public relations, marketing, strategy, or consulting. The exact industry, I am not certain of yet. I always strive to reach the next stair step, with a daily goal to become the most well-rounded student and man I can be. Even during the time between applying for and receiving this scholarship I have increased my efforts. I earned first place in the Deloitte Ohio State undergrad business consulting competition this February and I was placed into a social media positon in a public health student organization at the recommendation of my consulting peers shortly after that. As Ohio State students we often feel reduced to the numbers behind our email, or a seat in a lecture hall, but, the generous gifts from people such as yourself insure me that there are individuals kind enough to truly support the next generation. It not only makes me feel appreciated, but, my instructors, some of whom saw me receive this honor, ultimately share in the joy and success. Now I want you to share my accomplishments too, because without you, they are not possible. I was able to gather that you are chairman of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. I will save too many stories, but my pastor’s family recently adopted three children from Thailand. The smiles on these kids is really special. I truly admire your accomplished career and I will also say thank you for your service. Thank you times a million. I feel I owe some form of communication regarding my academic pursuits. I would love keeping you updated. Go Bucks!
This is in response to the email on the 19th of June 2015 regarding the suspension of my Howard University Freshman Scholarship (HUFS). I would like to appeal my Howard University Freshman Scholarship (HUFS) suspension, which is based on my academic performance.
I believe that I will be academically successful at Ohio State because I have taken the time to realize what my career goals are. When I graduated from high school in 1996, I really had no idea what career path I wanted to pursue. So I listened to a lot of wise people who pointed out the things that I was good at. I entered Ohio University as an Engineering major and later switched to Industrial Technology. After many years in college I found I was not successful at the things I had previously been successful at. I realized that what I was studying really did not interest me. I actually didn’t like it at all. That was the point that I decided I had wasted enough time and money and I walked away from college.
Over all, I believe I embody the type of person this foundation is trying to help through this scholarship. This scholarship would mean the world to me and my family, it would help me achieve all my goals and dreams. I am confident that I am a Strong Candidate for the HSF Scholarship, and I believe I am very well rounded in all aspects of the requirements. Thank you for conserving my
As the child of two Indiana University graduates, I am very familiar with IU. My family watches IU basketball, receives alumni mail, and visits Bloomington often. However, my early familiarity with the school discouraged my interest in IU. I had lofty dreams of going somewhere prestigious and far away, but now I’m realizing the flaw in that line of reasoning. I want to be an entrepreneur, and Kelley is the 8th best business school in the country. I don’t really want to live on the east coast, and I want to be close to the community of people I have invested in here, in Indianapolis. IU also provides me with the ability to explore a variety of academic interests because of the sheer number of credits that I will begin with. I am a good student and a hard worker, and I am confident that I could do great things for my community and myself if I was picked to be a Wells Scholar at IU. I believe WHS should nominate me for the Wells Scholarship because of my academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and character.
Thank you so much for allowing me to be one of Babbitt Men’s Club Golf Scholarship winners at the 2016 Graduation Banquet. I have been enjoying school, learning advanced and intriguing new information at Mesabi Range college, and meeting new people. I plan to attend Mesabi Range College for another year; during this year I will be obtaining an LPN diploma to become a Practical Nurse, having graduated this Spring with my Associates Degree. One of the prerequisites for this program is acquiring a CNA certificate; a nurse’s assistant certificate. This course is 4 credits and I will be taking it in the Summer semester. I plan on using the money from the Babbitt Men’s Club Scholarship to pay for this class, taking the first step towards my career
I know that through my hard work and dedication I can make my goals a reality. However, it may not be possible without these Scholarships. While my parents will help me in any way they can, I am hoping that my hard work and dedication to my studies pays off. I am a very self-driven individual who will accomplish any goal I set my mind on achieving. I am also aware of how without scholarships I may face a financial setback. I am hoping that through the help of scholarships I will be able to achieve all my goals in a timely
Getting this scholarship was my jump start to furthering my education and I knew from there that I was going to prove statistics wrong. I knew I was going to college and that things were going to be different for me and I was going to make a difference. I won’t be the black kid who drops out of school, because my education is too important to
The Texas Student Housing scholarship will allow me an opportunity to work towards a clear foundation of my future business – one which I am determined will ameliorate the world. Without this scholarship, much of my efforts will be used towards paying for housing and tuition. However, with this scholarship, I will be able to efficiently allocate my time and resources towards my business, which I hope will help elicit happiness from people in Austin and eventually, countries across the world. As a result, I value this scholarship as a necessity.
Graduate school will be a rigorous and costly endeavor. I plan to prepare for this journey with the same persistence, commitment, focus, and dedication as I did in my undergrad program. The difference will be increased study time. Student loans, family contributions, and my own monetary contributions will be the source of payment for my graduate
I cannot express in mere words how grateful I am for your donation through the Brian E. Gombar Memorial Scholarship towards my education, more importantly my hopes and dreams regarding my future. As I enter my sophomore year of college at Pace, I realize that I have even more responsibilities to fulfill as a committed student and member of the Pace community. It is because of your tremendous kindness in offering me the Brian E. Gombar Memorial Scholarship that I am getting this opportunity and so much more. So I sincerely thank you.
One of my dreams is to attend Arkansas State. I desire to not only to earn my degree but make a difference on campus and in the community. ASU Scholarship funds will benefit me not only financially, but academically and personally.
I appreciate the opportunities which served as a huge step for me and benefits I was given as a veteran that served in the military; Post 911 GI Bill, VA Benefits, and opening this door of wonderful opportunities succeeding as a veteran, however my finances which is crucial for my success as a student has fallen. It has been a struggle, but the finances have been getting worse and worse, however I am confident that with a scholarship my chances to succeed increase. Therefore assistance with a scholarship will help me to become a great engineer and will grow to help others. The thing I appreciate most about helping others is that it has given me the opportunity to be thankful for the support I have been given. I hope to be able to repay
I want to start off by thanking the scholarship board for considering me for a scholarship. Secondly, I love to learn. I love the fact that there is an ocean of knowledge out there for me to learn. I love everything about opening a book for the first time and reading the preface. I love the talking to my professor and about class as well as real life situation. I love my parents for being supportive for me in pursuit for my Masters of Science. Lastly, I love being in this situation where I can write a statement for potentially getting a scholarship.
I do not want any financial reasons to come between me in having a higher education and feel that this scholarship will be a tremendously help in centering more on school other than worrying about money. I feel I deserve this scholarship because I have always and will continue to represent and make a good example not just as a UC Merced student, but also as a student of the CalTeach program. I hope you take me into high considerations in being an applicant of this
