One of my dreams is to attend Arkansas State. I desire to not only to earn my degree but make a difference on campus and in the community. ASU Scholarship funds will benefit me not only financially, but academically and personally. Without financial assistance, it will be challenging to earn my degree. In all honesty, without scholarship assistance, I will not be able to begin my education at ASU but will need to live at home and attend a community college. I am willing to do whatever it takes to earn my degree but I know it would greatly benefit me to begin and finish at ASU. At this time my parents are not able to help assist me financially and even though I plan to work part-time as I attend school to offset the cost, scholarship funds
Unfortunately, my family and I fall into an area of the middle class that prohibits us from receiving need-based aid. Although I have graciously been awarded the Elizabeth Ann Seton Scholarship, without some additional form of aid, a Seton Hill education may be prohibitively expensive. My fourth year’s tuition alone would cost $37,520 with my current scholarship, and I would still have to pay for living expenses. Once my undergraduate and fifth years’ expenses are included, I will be over $150,000 in debt when I graduate. As a student who has worked exceedingly hard in the classroom and as a leader for four years, this amount of financial burden feels like a punishment. If I do not receive the Seton Scholar Award, I am not confident that I can attend Seton Hill and make the impacts I have described in this
Upon the completion of my high school career I was faced with the sudden realization that I was growing up and on the verge of becoming independent. A few months prior, I had applied to Montana State and received my acceptance letter. The future was before me and my ambitions were truly limitless. That is, until the fact set in that I was going to have to pay for this education that I desired. I knew that with my busy schedule, I would be unable to make enough money while only working a few hours here and there. I was beginning to lose sight of hope. Then one day I talked to my counsellor about what I could do and he pointed me towards dozens of scholarships that I could apply for. The exigence or purpose

As the child of two Indiana University graduates, I am very familiar with IU. My family watches IU basketball, receives alumni mail, and visits Bloomington often. However, my early familiarity with the school discouraged my interest in IU. I had lofty dreams of going somewhere prestigious and far away, but now I’m realizing the flaw in that line of reasoning. I want to be an entrepreneur, and Kelley is the 8th best business school in the country. I don’t really want to live on the east coast, and I want to be close to the community of people I have invested in here, in Indianapolis. IU also provides me with the ability to explore a variety of academic interests because of the sheer number of credits that I will begin with. I am a good student and a hard worker, and I am confident that I could do great things for my community and myself if I was picked to be a Wells Scholar at IU. I believe WHS should nominate me for the Wells Scholarship because of my academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and character.
I know that through my hard work and dedication I can make my goals a reality. However, it may not be possible without these Scholarships. While my parents will help me in any way they can, I am hoping that my hard work and dedication to my studies pays off. I am a very self-driven individual who will accomplish any goal I set my mind on achieving. I am also aware of how without scholarships I may face a financial setback. I am hoping that through the help of scholarships I will be able to achieve all my goals in a timely
One thing I’m not too sure about is how I’m going to pay for most of my education. I’m hoping to at least get some money via scholarships. When the time actually comes to it, I would be okay with getting some debt or getting one or two jobs. I feel it wouldn’t be too much for me to handle. When I really set my mind to it, I know I can do
The Texas Student Housing scholarship will allow me an opportunity to work towards a clear foundation of my future business – one which I am determined will ameliorate the world. Without this scholarship, much of my efforts will be used towards paying for housing and tuition. However, with this scholarship, I will be able to efficiently allocate my time and resources towards my business, which I hope will help elicit happiness from people in Austin and eventually, countries across the world. As a result, I value this scholarship as a necessity.
I plan to graduate from College of the Sequoias with an Associate’s Degree in communications and to maintain a grade point average of at least a 3.7. Once I earn my degree, I will transfer to a university where I will begin to work on my master’s degree. With my master’s degree I can pursue my dream of working for Disney Parks in public relations. While I am still a college student, I will apply and hopefully be given the opportunity to participate in the Disney College Program as well as a Disney Professional Internship. These internships will help me to learn more about working in the field of communications, to gain practical experience and to network with individuals who can help me achieve my career goals. A scholarship would be incredibly helpful for me to achieve all that I intend to by allowing me to devote more time to my school work. Since I currently work two jobs, as a tutor and as a sales associate, it is often difficult to find time and energy to complete my schoolwork. If I were to earn a scholarship, it would allow me to work fewer hours a week so that I can focus more of my energy and time on my education. That way, I can get the best grades possible and have the best chance of success in my
College is becoming more expensive and students are working over time to make ends meet. Brigit M. just graduated with a 4.0 GPA from a public college in southern New Jersey. She was a full time student, she worked off campus as a waitress, and she worked 8 to 12 hours a week on campus as a economics and writing tutor. Brigit had a scholarship but it did not cover other expenses such as books, transportation, and health care costs. She had a employer who worked with her school schedule but it was hard for her to come home from work at 11:00 p.m. and still have to write a paper that was due the next morning.
According to College Board, “with financial aid, many students who can’t afford the full cost of college are able to earn their degrees” (“Financial Aid Can”). Financial aid refers to any type of money given or lent to a student from the government or colleges he or she wishes to attend to help pay for college, and it can come in the forms of federal and state grants, loans, and work-study programs. This helps lower the cost of tuition and fees for students attending college. For students to be eligible to receive any type of financial aid, they first have to apply and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for financial
I do understand that a lot of people cannot afford it and need those scholarships, but I have always had a hard time with that since my family has a lot of other expenses and could use the money to help pay for college. I feel really guilty typing that, but I also get really frustrated that I am not eligible for any scholarships due to how I identify. Continuing on, identifying with the class I do, I do strive to work as hard as I can so that I can continue to have access to many resources.
Without the scholarship, I worry that may not have enough finances to fulfill my linguistic TESOL dream degree, and attend San Jose State. Without the scholarship, I will not be able to attend San Jose State which will dampen aspirations of becoming a linguist since San Jose is one of the only states with this specific integrated TESOL program. My dream is to attend San Jose State University and my acceptance email was like Christmas; however, nothing is for free. As reality sets in, I realize that I will have to cover my finances to stay at my dream university and
...ell I plan to receive an academic scholarship, get students loans, and borrow money from a relative. I can aquire an academic scholarship by getting into the top five percent of William B. Travis Highschool of class 2007. I can get student loans by applying to the College Funding Services. I will get my money fast and make no payments until after graduation. Plus I have a grandpa that says he can pay for some of my college money.
Many students worry about financial aid. Do not apply to a school because you don't think that you can't afford it. The people at college are trying to help you, and financial aid is one way that they do that. If you don't get enough money from a school, call them and tell them your situation. In most cases things can be worked out.
One thing you must know is when I receiving a acceptance into the college my life was just begun to be stressful. The first problem that comes to mind is financial aid. Financial aid provides you with the ability to continue your education at a college within your choice but, what I didn’t understand was how the aid was being process to help me. As an example, the college I attend was like taking trips back and forth, It was quite of a distance. Some of the papers that they asked for was either incomplete or certain information was missing. Knowing the United States of American money requires for the best education. After twenty days, I was accepted. Now with all the problems behind me I have completed the first step in college.
