2. What training / education you have completed and what did you gain from those experiences?
I got my associates in science at Harper College. At Harper, I was very involved in Phi Theta Kappa. I was the Vice President of membership in fall 2013 and secretary during the 2014-2015 school year. I was very involved in the Honors in action project, which helped enhance my research skills. Working on this project has also taught me that nothing has to be 100% perfect. Being honors students,

I worked as a pharmacy extern at Walgreens for 2 months. I did not like the work environment because due to the very fast pace and the fact that most of the other techs and ,maybe even the pharmacist, didn’t like me very much(It didn’t help that I figured out the code to enter the door). I worked for CVS Caremark in their mail order pharmacy. The work was very repetitive and the hours were very long. What I had gained from these experiences is that I realized that this really was not the field for me at all.

Before I became vice president of membership, I was the head writer of the church Christmas play during my senior year of high school. I failed. I had no idea what I was doing and I wound up B.S-ing it. The Sunday school superintendent said I should resign, so I did. Two years later, I was asked to become a member of the executive board for phi theta kappa at harper college. I initially declined, siting my blunder with the Christmas play, because I did not want to screw up again. Later on, I stepped up and I became the VP of membership and later, the
Walking into college, I always wanted to join a brotherhood. But, it was hard to find the one for me at first. After striking out on a few other fraternities at SEMO, I didn’t know if Greek Life was for me. But after talking one night with Brian Smith, I would give my one last shot to Sigma Nu. Looking back, I couldn’t have been happier with my decision. Over the past few months I have grown into a better person and have achieved goals I wouldn’t have even thought about being able to achieve. Looking back throughout my candidate process I can say I have strived for Love, Truth, and Honor.
organizations, my service did not stop there. I was also involved in several other clubs and
Despite not being a part of over 20 different organizations, as some claim to be, being a part of a smaller number of groups has allowed me to focus on developing my leadership skills more thoroughly than I could otherwise. Not spreading myself too thin has made me much more committed and involved in the organizations that I am a part of, making my influences so much stronger. I firmly believe that I am trying my absolute best not only in school, but in leaving my comfort zone and being an active member in our community. I am honored that I have been considered for such a prestigious invitation as
The first activity I participate in is DECA. DECA is a youth business competition, and I have been a member of my school's chapter for three consecutive years. I am currently Vice President for the 2015-2016 school year. I have competed regionally and provincially in the categories of Business Services Marketing, Quick Serve Restaurant Management and Franchising Entrepreneurship. Along with qualifying for provincials I have placed top ten in my category. As Vice President I delegate tasks, plan and carry out meetings, organize fundraisers, train members and attend conferences.
Currently, I am in Circle K International and HOSA. The reason why I chose to join Circle K International because I love to do services within the community, learn about fellowship, and apply my leadership skills. Right now, I am the finance chair for Single Service Committee in Circle K International. I join HOSA because I want to continue my HOSA experience from high school and experience the HOSA life at the collage level.

Zoe is a very great attentive student. She is a student whoholds a lot of valuable pronciples from her Haitian-Cuabn culture. The monment she enters the building she greets people with respect. She always says good morning and refers to all staff and her peers by their name. Zoe always comes to school in a positive attitude. I have yet to see her upset which allows me to believe she is good in toning her emotions or personal life outside of school grounds. Outside of school she is always busy between homework, family and tutoring at the SCO Family Services program in Downtown, Brooklyn. By the end of her long day she is exhausted but yet a smile is always on her face giving no sinces of anger or worries.if I was to describe Zoe’s emotional tone or color it would be lavender. She is calm, soothing to me around but ye keps firm.she had a bright future a head of her. Between the classes I have observed her in she is always energetic, cheerful and strong minded. She is excited in theatre class showing off her acting skills and in Spanish class she is attentive when doing her Spanish class work.
Also, I have been granted spots in Alpha Chi Honor Society and Psi Chi Honor Society. This past year, I served as secretary at Alpha Chi. This position helped me learn how to work well with other members of a leadership team, and helped me create a successful food drive for those in need in Anderson. Being a part of a leadership team was an awarding experience, and I am excited to be a part of it again this coming fall.
I am a part of a great honor society called Phi Theta Kappa here at Cowley. Phi Theta Kappa was “established in 1918” (Mesa Community College). We have four pillars that we strive to capture in each of our activities these pillars are, fellowship, leadership, scholarship, and service. “The mission of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize academic achievement of college students and to provide opportunities for them to grow as scholars and leaders” (Phi Theta Kappa). There is an eligibility that is to be met to be in Phi Theta Kappa. These requirements must be met to be a part of this honor society. According to Phi Theta Kappa, you must be enrolled in a regionally accredited institution offering an associate degree program, completed at least 12 hours of coursework that may be applied to an associate degree, a grade point average of 3.5, receive an invitation to membership from the chapter at the college where presently enrolled, and adhere to the moral standards of the society.

I was privileged enough to be inducted into two honor societies through my school: Gamma Sigma Epsilon and Epsilon Sigma Pi. Gamma Sigma Epsilon is the Chemistry national honor society, while Epsilon Sigma Pi is a college-wide honor society. I was lucky enough to have a research opportunity. I was able to research DNA Replication at Rockefeller University in Manhattan.
In high school I was also involved with many organizations and I feel like this process is going on again now that I am in college. I have joined a few different organizations and not all of them ha...
When I was young, I could be anything I wanted. A princess for a day? Done. Everything was that simple. My whole world- my whole life was the definition of an idealism. As I was exposed to more of the real world and happenings of real life, my idealistic image seemed to dwindle away. No longer did I possess the adequacy to be a princess. I could not handle the throne much deserve the authority. This analogy, I feel, is fitting for my college experience. Why? There are a few things only time can teach you and only through experience can you remember. The readings Orientation, We’re Not in High School Anymore, and Reading: How to Stay on Top of It along with the illustrations, a smooth ride and an obstacle course, further demonstrate the analogy that there is a great disparity in comparing the idealistic image to realistic happenings.
