Feeling Like A Mentor

I very much feel like a mentor in the development of a person's character is necessary. Let’s start off by saying that every little kid says they want to be like someone when they grow up, but why do they say that? Little kids look up to people who they think are “cool” or people they want to “be like” because they think they are heros, lifesavers, good people, etc. GOOD parents teach their kids to be respectful, how to treat others, they also tell them what to do and what not to do, they teach them how to deal with hard decisions. Only focusing on “good” parents, they teach them things that they would want their kids to know and lead them in the right path. There are millions and millions of people depressed today because of stress but don’t know how to deal with it. There’s students in high school and college stressed out because they’re behind in school work and they have a job they also need to worry about and feel so overwhelmed because they don’t know what to do. There’s also young kids in this world today who feel like they have no one to talk to, coming from experience. This problem is so very easy to solve. There’s always someone willing to help, and if you think there isn’t, you’re not looking well enough. Talking to your school counselor, or an older sibling, or one of your favorite teachers about your problems or whatever you’re stressing about or whatever the problem may be can help a lot. They can tell you positive things about yourself that will make you feel better. These people can lead you in the right direction when you don’t know what to do or go or say. I’m going to use myself in this example. As of right now, I don’t know exactly what I want to do after high school but I have an idea. I know that next year, my senior year of high school i’m going to be in my counselors office discussing my future because I don’t think I can plan it out myself. I know that my counselor will give me great advice, confidence, and a headstart on my goals. I already have goals planned out but I feel like I need advice to have everything crystal clear and understandable.
