Parents and families are the first to teach their children. Children learn every day. That is one of the unique characteristics a child has. Also, we must know that each child learns differently. The parents and families are the first to observe this. As a parent, it is our responsibility to make sure that we teach our children the basics. Reading to our children helps enhance their knowledge. It also teaches them how to read. Also, it is important that we allow the children to work at a pace that makes them feel more comfortable. Teachers and parents see that students learn best when they are comfortable. When parents help their child at home it allows the child to master successfully. We need to be aware at the many situations that may go on with the students. Different types of family stressors that occur and affect many students are:
• Parents struggling with income
• Divorce
• A family member dying
• A family member or student becoming sick
• Parent re-marries
• Not being able to afford the right school supplies
• Child being put in foster care
• Family arguments
• Student getting in trouble in school
Everyone has different problems in life. When students face different types of stressors like the ones I have listed above, it allows the student to lose focus with their education. Occasionally, it causes the student to fail. This is something that needs to be prevented. It is so important that the teacher and faculty need to understand that situations do happen. Each situation plays a role in student behavior. Things can be fixed if everyone comes together and works with the student and family. These situations cannot be controlled. Being able to know that things happen is the start in understanding. Here are some different type of resources that can help the parents and families that deal with stressors like the ones above:

Having a family is no easy task, especially when you are faced with many challenges that are unforeseen. Sometimes one imagines or hopes for an ideal family. The ideal family would consist of a spouse, one or two kids and live happily with little to no conflicts. The reality is that even if one tries to avoid conflict by all possible means, conflict is inevitable. Stressors and strengths within a family can be seen in almost every situation. Although stressors tend to be more noticeable than the strengths. Some of which will be discussed later on, although it will be mainly focused on the strength and stressors faced after a divorce for children. But if one focuses on the stressors more than the strengths, one will only see stressors rather than solutions.
The author makes the assumption that the reader understands the core concepts in traditional family therapy and that whilst many writers influenced the development of family therapy, the major models were primarily structural family therapy, strategic family therapy, and Murray Bowen (Flaskas, 2010). Four powerful theories evolved to form the backbone of family therapy – general systems theory, cybernetics, communications theory and ecological theory. These were the major initial paradigms and this has been considered as first order family therapy where the therapist was viewed as pure observer and the understanding that a person’s behaviour is not determined only by one’s internal world, but acknowledges that the social context is a primary determinant. This shift in thinking has been illustrated as movement from autonomous self to relational self (Olsen et al, 1980; Rasheed et al, 2011).

A family assessment is a process for gathering and organizing information in ways that can help a family prevent and or solve problems. The goal is to obtain a full understanding and unbiased view of the strengths and problems. A good assessment is about relationship building, engaging families in an exploration of their strengths, values and goals to build mutual trust and respect. Then when problems do arise, this relationship can be the foundation of open communication allowing the doors to open for identification of additional supports needed to reduce or eliminate the factors causing harm.
I need to know the stressors that effect administration, students, and even the parents of the students; The many ways of reducing stress, and which are more effective; and lastly, if school stress can benefit a student. Literature Review My
In every family, there comes a time when certain events will test its strength and whether or not each member is resilient enough to overcome it. My family, like many others, has its family stress, which is “a state of tension that arises when demands test or tax a family’s capabilities” (Lamanna & Riedmann, pg. 378). For the most part, my husband Santi and I have found ways to manage, or at the very least, reduce the negative effects of family stress; however, several years ago, we found ourselves in family crisis. My husband and I met in 2009 while I was vacationing in Madrid, Spain. We met on a gay dating app and decided to have dinner. Resilience is generally defined as the ability to “bounce back” to a healthy functioning state when faced with significant stressors. Welsh (2012) mentioned, “Healthy family functioning involves more than the absence of problems and can be found in the midst of problems, as in family resilience” (5). This paper will elaborate on the importance of resilience within the family system and connect it with two key processes, pulling relative ideas from chapter one’s reading in the course text, “Normal Family Processes”.
College is a new setting for most students, especially the ones no longer living at home. The transition can be easy and worry-free, or a challenging and stressful time. Brougham states, “Growth and change were often accompanied by the experience of stress. The cause of stress varies from person to person. Overall there can be similarities such as ’academics, social relationships, finances, daily hassles and family relationships’ (Brougham, 2009, pg 86). As student, academics is the reason why we are in school; we are aiming to get educated and to learn. Family relationships vary from student to student depending on how close the family is. My immediate family and extended family have such a close bond that when I am needed at home, I drop everything for them. Social relationships are smaller support systems individuals can count on. Finances all come down to economic status and a person’s unique financial aid package. Daily hassles range from what I should wear today to not having enough time in a day.
When we were little our parents had to guided us because we did not have the ability to live by ourselves. Sometimes, for some people, their parents taught them or they sent them to school to develop their knowledge. Parents helped their children to do their homework. They encouraged them to continue their early education. Parents help their children to build confidence in their life. A child with confidence is able to has a positive attitude in school. Also, help the child to be positive in his leaning. Many children have problems learning in school because parents do not give them support. Instead, they tell them that they are not good nothing. Also, parents help to build ways of learning at an early age. When we were, little we did not know how to study, how to read. Our parents found the best way to learn the basic education.
For my research topic I chose to write on the effects of expectation. The expectations of one’s family and one’s self can have a major influence on his/ her life. When some tries to live up to a high expectation it can cause the individual a great deal of stress. Therefore, the question the question I am researching is “Should family members- parents, grandparent, aunts or uncles- set high educational, relational, and moral expectations for their children?” In order to find information on this topic I acquired two articles from the University of South Carolina Library website. Stress is in our everyday lives. We allow things such as the way we live, school, work, family, relationships etc to stress us out. Some people deal with stress way different from others. Some may know how to cope with stress better than others. We allow stress to take a major toll over our lives when we are suppose to fight it, but a lot of people can’t do that. Stress makes you act and do things that are not like yourself. Stress is a negative word; it comes in all different shapes and forms.
Everyone seems to define family differently, however, the significance of family is the same. For you, family means everything. You can always count on your parents and siblings for help and love. Family is very valuable and important to you and should never be taken for granted. No one can deny that family is the foundation of our generation. A family is where we all start our life journey and helps us grow to be successful throughout our lives.

There are so many different types of family relationships. Whatever form a family takes; it is an important part of everyone’s life. My family has played an important role in my life. Good family relationships serve as a foundation to interactions with others. Supportive families will help children to thrive. The quality of the family relationship is more important than the size of the family. Making the relationships priority, communication, and providing support for one another is key to developing relationships. Family relationships are what make up our world today; they shape the ways that we see things and the ways that we do things.
