Should guns be banned? This debate has gone on for several years. I believe that guns should not be banned in all honesty. Guns being outlawed can cause more deaths involving them, can be retrieved in other illegal ways, and there are way more things that kill people other than guns. Why take guns away now?
Let me ask you a question. Have you ever heard about all the overdoses on heroin, crack or any other illegal narcotic? Well, these drugs have been illegal since 1914 and the overdoses/substance abuse is still going on. Why would making the ownership of guns illegal be any different? People would get guns illegally from black markets, deal them, or smuggle them from other countries. Some people would even learn how to make their own guns.

There are knives, drugs, and other dangerous things that could be used to harm someone. More people could possibly get hurt this way. People could find more ways to sneak drugs into food and drinks. People would also resort more to bombs instead of the knives or drugs. Say a student was going to shoot up the school but possession of guns is illegal. He/She would most likely use a bomb and kill more people than a gun would. The bomb could destroy the whole school and kill all the students and staff, including his/herself depending on how they do it.
I can still see why people want guns banned. They’re dangerous and cause incidents where people get hurt. I know this, everyone else does too. People do get hurt/die if a gun malfunctions or if they get shot. This still isn’t enough reason to get guns banned. The reasoning is that this would still happen if they were illegal, but would cause more deaths than before.
Like I said in the previous paragraph, there could be more deaths than before. There is a huge reason I think this. People would most likely resort to dealing guns like drugs. Someone doesn’t hold up their side of the deal, the other person isn’t happy and said person who didn’t pay gets hurt or killed. It’s worse to make guns illegal if it turns out anything like that is going to happen, and it’s a huge
First of all, gun control punishes only innocent citizens, not the dangerous felons. Criminals wanting to purchase a gun can easily obtain a pistol illegally from the black market, so gun control is practically useless to the unsafe villains who threaten public safety. Statistics show that in the U.S, 645,000 times in each year, innocent people ...
Some people believe that extremely tight gun control laws will eliminate crime, but gun control laws only prevent the 'good guys' from obtaining firearms. Criminals will always have ways of getting weapons, whether it be from the black market, cross borders, or illegal street sales. New gun control laws will not stop them. Since the shootings of Columbine High School, Virginia Tech, and Sandy Hook, the frequency of mass shootings has increased greatly. Gun control is not effective as it has not been shown to actually reduce the number of gun-related crimes. Instead of considering a ban of private firearm possession, and violating individual ownership rights, it may be more practical to consider the option of partially restricting firearm access.
McMahan, 3) So, McMahan’s main premises come into play, either everyone has guns, including criminals, or nobody has guns. “Gun advocates prefer for both rather than neither to have them” McMahan remarks, but ultimately that will just leave the country open to more violence and tragedies. “As more private individuals acquire guns, the power of the police declines, personal security becomes a matter of self help, and the unarmed have an incentive to get guns.” (McMahan, 2) Now everyone is armed, and everyone has the ability to kill anyone in an instant, making everyone less secure. Just as all the states would be safer if nobody were to possess the nuclear weapons, our country would be safer if guns were banned from private individuals and criminals.
Imagine... you are driving down the street to see your loving family. You stop at a gas station and a guy comes in. He has a bandana and bad intentions. All of a sudden, he loads a pistol and aims it towards you. What are your options? Try to visualize, a guy going to see his wife and kids, but when out of nowhere a person pulls you aside and then points a pistol at you. Over the course of years, ninety-three United States citizens are killed with guns. Due to these reasons, it seems it is necessary to get rid of guns because of the 21,175 suicides, 505 deaths due to accidental/ negligent discharge of a firearm. Guns should be banned for civilian use, due to too many deaths from unregistered users, misuse, and increased crime rate.
First of all, banning guns will not stop criminals from having them, and there are so many ways that these people can obtain guns. It is pretty plain and simple; if you ban guns from everyone crimes will still be committed. Gun control “…ignores the reality that even if guns disappear, bad people will find ways to do bad things” (Wil...
Legislation restricting arms also known as “gun control” does not positively impact crime reduction rates.
According to The Chicago Tribune “Close to 3,000 people have been shot in Chicago so far this year.”In 2016 chicago homicide rate was at an all time high, last year there have been reported 762 people died from gun violence,”3,550 shooting incidents, and 4,331 shooting victims.”Hundreds of people have died from gun violence every year and also a portion of the murder rate is made up of innocent people that have also died from a firearm violence. Also in the united states the number of fatalities from a firearm were “33,594” according to the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention.I believe we should ban the use of firearms because the number of people that die or get injured from a firearm keeps dangerously increasing each year.
Gun control and gun banning have been a highly controversial issue since all the gun crimes hitting the news in America. Crimes like Sandy-Hook , Aurora , San Berdindno , and Oregon have lawmakers thinking about banning guns by enacting laws that allows them to. Lawmakers believe guns are the prime suspect in all these gun violence crimes and they believe it well reduce murder and violence. Banning guns well do nothing to reduce the mass killings. If a criminal has the intent to commit a crime nothing can stop them. Also a criminal doesn’t abide by the law that is why they are criminals. Gun banning would only disarm the legal law abiding citizen leaving them defenseless. Also the right to bear arms is guaranteed by the Constution and the Bill of Rights. If lawmakers have the courage take away one Constutional right they will have the courage to keep going, I have three logical reasons why gun banning well not work.
In the United States, there is a famous saying to justify gun ownership “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.” It is true that the person with the gun is the one who is doing the killing but the gun makes it easier to have a massacre. However guns are useful for police, security, and military so they could protect themselves and everyone around them. Americans are not obsessed with guns; the American people are tired that their 2nd amendment rights are being violated. Police violate the citizen right to bare arm and will detain them. The sell of guns are being banned in some states, which makes it harder for citizen to own a gun. When someone chooses to carry a knife for protection the law will try to violate his or her right.
After the many shootings in schools over the past two years, many people believe guns should be made illegal for civillians to posses or purchase guns. While this may make it difficult for minors, drug addicts, and people with mental deficiencies to get hold on a gun, The Constitution allows all citizens to possess arms to defend themselves, their families', and their property. However if guns were made illegal, there would still be people who would smuggel guns. If a burgular were to smuggle a gun in to someone's home, that man or woman should be allowed to posses a gun to defend theirself.
I believe that gun ownership should be completely restricted. Guns only promote violence. Limiting who can buy guns can only do so much. Even running background checks, to determine who would be mentally stable to own a gun would not prevent someone who cannot obtain a firearm himself. “The fact that people with problematic criminal and mental histories can own semi automatic and automatic weapons means that we need more laws passed to limit gun ownership even further.”” Such things would only promote a person to find someone, such as a close relative, to get the the firearm they would choose to have. However, permitting or forbidding guns completely would lead to an excess of problems. We would be left in a situation such that, only law enforcement officials would have all the authority and the weapons to control us more. These facts pose this argument, but it would be in the best interests to ban gun ownership, as crime rate and death rate would both decrease
America, only 13% of violent crimes would stop. Not to mention that criminals would be
The "The Princess Bride" film, directed by Rob Reiner, intricately weaves together various language features to construct its central themes. One prominent theme in the movie is the power of storytelling and its ability to travel beyond time and reality. Through the clever use of dialogue, narration, and humor, the film effectively conveys this theme to the audience. Dialogue plays a crucial role in developing the theme of storytelling in "The Princess Bride. " Characters like Grandpa and the Grandson engage in a meta-narrative that frames the main story.
...s the homicide rate increase. Next, people with guns are easier to commit suicides than people without guns. Finally, the freedom to own guns makes people worried.
Some school are making their school a gun free zone. However, it is true that some people try to attack gun free zone because they know that no one has a gun to kill them back. Even people call the police, it takes time for the police to come and shooting does not take that much time to kill people. To solve this problem I think the campus safety should carry guns. Also, teachers may have a right to have guns, too. When the shooter comes into the classroom the teachers are the only adult that could protect the students. To protect children they all have to be trained how to use the gun. Also it is necessary for teachers and campus safety to have a mental health care periodically. There are many scientist who are researching about what kind of people tend to become mental illness and when do they become so. Unfortunately there is no strong evidence so, it is very important to watch out for the mental health of people who carries
