What work great for me is working with in a group, friends and or study group. I like working with other people because we could help each other out on our assignments. I am a person that do well working with other because I need a lot help and working with others I could get the help and I will get better results than working alone. The second things that work great for me is doing my assignments on the same day I receive it because when I wait on the next day I wouldn’t do it until the day is due or be too lazy to do my assignments. I was fear to speak of front class because of my speaking impediments and throughout school people making fun of the way I speak and make don’t want to speak and was afraid of speaking because of my speaking impediments and at time it’s hard for people to understand me. All the school I go to give me speech therapy, but it was off and on but mostly off and should have about 15 speech therapy through school and never really have it. I get never get over all the times people make fun of me and that me mute throughout my life. I haven’t practice my speech or practice my speech in from of people and I did it have better. Ever since I was in middle school, people always told me that I’m quiet and shy. Having said that, I never felt comfortable communicating with people I didn't know that well. That also includes speaking or presenting in front of a class. According to my family and friends, I’m the complete opposite, because they claim that I’m talkative. Being shy and nervous did affect my schoolwork. I wouldn’t raise my hand in class that often, because I didn’t feel comfortable enough. When I was in 6th grade, my teacher would always call up students to share something they liked about a story they read. When the teacher called out my name, my heart started pounding, my hands were shaking and my mind went completely blank. I was so nervous to the point where I felt like I was going to pass out any moment. That’s when I asked the teacher if I could excuse myself to go to the bathroom. She didn’t mind that request so I tried to calm myself down by washing my face and breathing. After class, my teacher and I discussed my inability to present in front of a class. She was obliging, because she agreed to help me overcome being shy and to help boost my self-confidence. Shyness and nervousness also stopped me from participating in activities and obtaining opportunities. I practiced what I was going to say and how I was going to say it that weekend. However, when I got up to present my mind went completely blank. In the past, I used to start writing an essay without writing an outline. I even did not brainstorm before I began to write. As a result, my essays were undoubtedly messy and disorganized. One of the most important skills that I have gained is how to communicate with people by adapting my speech to the circumstances I am in. Personally, this has made me more confident whilst speaking to strangers and even with people I know. During the course of this module, I have learnt a lot about myself, in terms of how I communicated with the people around me. Before taking this module, I didn’t realise that I changed my speech depending on the situation that I was in. When I would meet someone new or if I would speak to someone important, I would talk in a more professional manner. This module also taught me that I, like
