The article by Roberto A. Ferdman states that Michelle Obama is arguably the school nutrition movements most public proponent. Also that she has become a symbol of healthier meals. I think that Michelle Obama has created controversy with the school lunches. She is trying to make everyone eat healthier which, in return, is causing the kids to rebel. By taking away the sugar drinks, banning soda, and adding more fruits and vegetables she has angered nearly 75% of the kids at schools who are served the food. The nasty tweets kids are making and tagging Michelle in is also a bad outcome to the “healthy meal plan”. The sugar free, fat free foods or ingredients can be considered healthy. On the other hand, you can always use healthy things to an extent where they become unhealthy. Since they are using all of these sugar free and fat free foods kids are no longer eating the school lunch. Which, in fact, is very unhealthy. I do not think that fat free ranch, sugar free drinks, or less amounts of servings were needed to make healthier options for the kids. I think that including some fat free ingredients in the foods could have been helpful and less of a problem for the kids. …show more content…

They have control over the lunches in multiple cities and states. The simple fact is that not every city and not every state is obese and needs fat free foods or food cuts. I don’t think the government should have a role in any city or state's school lunches. I think it should be up to the school. If the school notices an overweight population due to the school lunches then they can decide for themselves what they would like to do to handle the problem. You can’t make everyone eat healthy and you can't look at one person and decide that everyone needs to diet and cut
