It is a well known fact that guns can kill people, but the problem occurs when people do not recognize the danger of weapons other than firearms. An example is the serial killer Ted Bundy who used a crowbar to knock out and kill his victims. He was able to kill at least 35 people without the use of a gun. Additionally there was another killer in Ohio named Donald Harvey who claimed to have murdered 87 people through poison. Furthermore after going through 28 serial killer cases from all over the world and only four used guns to murder. However two of those four used multiple types of weapons not just firearms. With the serial killers having a range of 32 to 218 murders. In almost every instance in the past the first thing a country does before it suppresses its people is take away their peoples easiest means of defending themselves which nowadays is guns. This tactic was used by Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot to name a few. Hitler introduced gun control in Germany in 1938 a year before World War II started. An example is hunting which hundreds of people go out into the woods to gather food or trophies. According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service there were 13 million hunters in 2011 ` They are also key to protecting livestock from predators and replacing guns with other weapons would put the farmer in danger if he was going to protect his livestock.
